Peace, tranquility and views to die for!
We had a wonderful stay. The weather was fine, the native birds were in song and the views were incredible. Host Peter was very accommodating. And the bed with a view was a highlight! Highly recommended.

Best little secret of the Coromandel
Pete's place is a lovely hideaway nestled in beautiful native bush. The house is cute and quirky with amazing views from the deck and bed! Per the description, there are a number of stairs from the car to the house through the bush, so pack lightly (it's not terrible, but you wouldn't want to carry the kitchen sink). There are a few lovely walks to do from the house including down to their local stony beach, and a wonderful sandy beach only 5-10 mins drive away. Bathroom facilities are in immaculate condition, kitchen is well kitted out, and Pete was a wonderful host. We stayed 2 nights, but could have easily stayed 4 or more to really settle in and explore the area.

Paradise found
What a wonderful place and hosts! 3 days gave us a small sample of what this part of the Coromandle has to offer. The accommodation is full of wonder with acollection of rocks that are mind blowing. The flora and birdlife are non stop. We truly hope to return!

Stunning!
We loved our stay here! The cabin has everything you could need for your stay. There is a short walk down to the beach nearby, with amazing rock pools at low tide. We were visited by Tūī, kererū and heard some kākā in the area!

Paradise
This place is such a great find! The views are absolutely stunning and the bird life is amazing. We could even hear Kiwi at night. I can’t imagine anywhere better to relax and completely unwind! Pete and Wendi are lovely hosts and made sure we were comfortable during our stay.

A cozy hideaway--our favorite so far
We've been traveling in NZ a few weeks since we stayed at the cabin. It's definitely our favorite! The views are wonderful, and it was a perfect spot for birding. We heard the kiwis at night. The cabin was exactly as described. Perfect for two people. Kitchen had plenty of pots, pans and utensils for cooking. Loved the rocks and knickknacks throughout the house--a cozy hideaway all around.

Incredible cabin nestled amongst nature
We stayed at Peter’s place for 3x nights and it was magical beginning to end. Perched up on the hill with views out to the coast and ocean, and surrounded by pristine native bush. Lying in bed and looking at the stars in the night sky is a real highlight. The house itself is incredibly well equipped and little details thought out for the most comfortable stay. Lots of activities to do within a short drive, or just stay nestled in the oasis of the cabin. Agree with all the comments about the photos not doing it justice, get ready for this place to blow you away and make you not want to leave. Thanks Peter!

Escape of your dreams
Snuggled amongst mature native bush, the house offers a coastal view which is breathtaking, with not another house in sight.While the feeling is that you are remote, every comfort has been thoughtfully provided. There are beautiful beaches nearby, but you could be content just enjoying the serenity, the native birdlife, and THAT VIEW!

Tuateawa Escape
You'd be hard pressed to find a better spot to unwind and relax than here. An awesome and quirky location with everything you need, we really enjoyed spending a few days here just soaking it in. Great views of the coastline and good company in the local birdlife. The communication with Pete and his partner meant everything was simple, and we got plenty of info on things to do etc. Will be back one day for sure.

Outstanding Views!
The views from this property are inanely good, like other reviews mentioned, the photos do not do it justice. Waking up with the sunrise over the ocean was one of the highlights of our trip. The roads getting to the property can be a little tricky to tackle with a small car, but absolutely worth it once you make it. We will definitely be coming back for a longer stay next time. Thank you Pete and Wendi for your lovely hospitality :)

Relaxing weekend away
We had a great long weekend at Pete and Wendi’s place. Enjoyed the amazing views out over the Coromandel and being able to relax. Appreciated the recommendation to drive home via Colville as got to discover some new spots we hadn’t been to.

Amazing place
We loved the Cottage and had such an amazing time there. It certainly is a bit different and might not be suitable for everyone with the steps going up and the toilet separately, but for us it just added to the charm of the place. The view and the birds are soo special, but it is the whole setting that makes it fantastic. Peter clearly loves the place and it was so wonderful looking at all the stones and other little treasures throughout the place. I am sure we will be back one day.

Bush escape with sea views
A lovely eccentric cabin, where you can enjoy the native wild life in the bush, with sea views during the day and experience a light-pollution free night sky. Has everything you need to self cater. Pete and Wendy are lovely hosts and always very helpful when needed.

Was a little worried about set up of property but didn't need to of worried. The view is gorgeous better than expected, great sized kitchen, and outdoor bbq. Composting loo not a problem at all. Very comfortable bed where you can lie and watch the stars. Easy to use heater and nice bathroom. Great location - loved the walk to boulder bay excellent snorkling and the small walk to hidden lake. Will be back - thanks for sharing

A++ would stay again
We had an absolutely wonderful time at the little cabin in Tuateawa. Super private and peaceful. The view and the bush are really beautiful - the photos don't quite do it justice! Has a wonderful tree house type feel to it but is also very practical and well equiped. Incredible native bird life, the work the community has been doing to trap pests etc is obviously paying off. Pete is a lovey guy and excellent host. Couldn't recommend more highly!

Our stay was off to a rough star after our car broke down. Pete was extremely helpful and went the extra mile to make sure we got back home safely. The stay was even better than imagined. The view from the bedroom window was incredible, and the area was stunning. 10/10.

Amazing place to relax and enjoy
This is an amazing place to stay. We enjoyed every minute during our holiday. The georgous sunrise and sunset are unforgettable. The birds sound is very beautiful. The pantry stuffed more than the basics. The information book written by Peter is very helpful. The decorations of the house and the art around the house are all attractive. It is also very convenient to go to Coromandel Town. This accommodation made our holiday very special. Thank you Peter for your amazing place. We are looking forward to coming back with friends.
