Our second time there for the winter break and our kids love the place. It is close to Tahoe donner ski, the kids room on the bottom floor is great, and the backyard is a great place for the kids to go sledding.

We have been talking a yearly Family vacation for over 20years , and I can seriously say that this property was one of the best homes we have ever rented. The owner was very gracious and ready to accommodate. The home was very clean and fully stocked. Hope we can return next year. Thank you Carl and Susannah for sharing it with us.

Great house for family

We loved the setup of the house for family with kids. Great location as it was close to the ski resort. Loved the downstairs for kids to play! Loved the hot tub was covered so we didn’t have to wear shoes. Also the backyard was great for the kids to play with the snow when not skiing.

Heavenly Truckee Lodging

This house was the best vacation rental for an extended family. 6 adults and three kids, 12, 11, and 11 stayed here plus we hosted my cousins family, 5 adults, 1 child (11) for several dinners. The kitchen was generously stocked with everything we needed including lots of spices and condiments. The three adult couples luxuriated ineach of our king bed bedrooms. The children loved the downstairs sleeping arrangements and the large family room. The house was spotless, large dining tables inside and on the patio allowed us to seat 15 all together for dinner! Communication with the host was excellent. Wonderful vacation rental. I highly recommend this home for your next vacation!

The Best Possible Experience!

Everything was perfect. The house was lovely and very open and light. It was furnished like a home, with much art on the walls, and it did feel at all like a rental property. Our host was readily available and immediately addressed any questions I had. The downstairs provided a lovely play area for the children, complete with all sorts of games and toys. We could not have hoped for anything more.

Amazing place!

Loved our stay here! The house is really well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and lots of fun toys, games, and books. Our kids especially loved the Wii! Comfortable stay for 10 people (6 adults, 4 kids). A super nice benefit is the extra bedroom downstairs - there are 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms downstairs, in addition to the 3+2 upstairs. Great communication, super easy and comfortable. Highly recommend. We would rent again!!

Such a beautiful home. Plenty of room for the kids to play downstairs while we read and conversed upstairs. Great kitchen amenities and roomy table for all 9 of us to collect around. So many games for the family, nice quality linens, plenty of towels. Great home we all thoroughly enjoyed!

Beautiful home

We had an amazing vacation! The house was much bigger then we expected and very well stocked with towels and essentials. The hot tub was a perfect addition for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Location is close to Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake, Truckee River, and Reno. The only complaint is there is no air conditioning, which was uncomfortable during the day as we were there in mid July. Still would recommend despite the A/C.

Beautiful home in the best location!

We rented this property for our family of 6 and our friends who are a family of 4. There was plenty of space and it’s located in just a gorgeous spot among the trees. Just around the corner from Donnor Lake and 25 minutes from Tahoe City made this the perfect location. It rained the first couple days so we were at the property more than we planned and we were so glad we got to stay at this beautiful place. The books, games, hot tub, basement living area, and large dining table made the experience so much better. The kids bunk room and the multiple King beds are what put it over the top for us. My husband and I and our friends need king size beds to be comfortable and there was even 1 more extra for their pre-teen daughter. We had game nights and found having dinner at the cabin was more comfortable than even eating out. Dave, the host, was also a delight to work with. He was communicative, answered any questions we had, and was so helpful. We would whole-heartedly recommend this cabin and will be coming back here if we ever make it back to Tahoe. Thank you, Dave!

The Perfect Family Gathering Spot

We had such a lovely week at this house. The house is beautiful and just expertly stocked for families. Tons of books for every age level (adults included) puzzles, games, an electric piano, gear for playing outdoors, lots of storage space, two sets of washer/dryers, and a truly FULLY stocked kitchen. (We cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 12 and had everything we needed!) The house is a short drive to Ace Hardware, Safeway, coffee shops, etc in Truckee, and is in a great forest neighborhood. Owner was super fast to respond. A gem.

Great stay!

A group of us stayed here for a weekend and had an amazing time! The house is gorgeous, well-equipped with everything we needed, and had plenty of space for 12 adults. We all especially loved the heated floors in the bathrooms! Dave was a fabulous host as well, great communication and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend and would love to come back again soon!! Thanks Dave!

Awesome Home

This property was true to the description and the pictures. It was clean, spacious, wonderfully equipped, and peaceful. This was a retreat for our three families, especially since the parents resided upstairs and all the adult children had their space downstairs. We cooked several meals and found all the pots, pans, utensils and dishes that were needed. The dining table was large and spacious enough for everyone at the same time. The two sets of washer and dryer came in handy. The hot tub was hands down the cleanest and clearest one we have ever seen in any rental. Definitely would stay here again.

Another great stay!

This is the second time we have rented this wonderful home. We just love how spacious and well laid out everything is for our large group. The home is stocked with all the essentials and more. Communication with owner is also great. We hope to rent this home again for the next time we are in Truckee!

Beautiful family friendly home

What a lovely, roomy, family-friendly home. Very well appointed kitchen (2 toasters!), large dining room table with l think 12 chairs made for easy meal prep and dining for our party of 8. The kids enjoyed the “toy room” and the view from the deck was a nice plus. Awesome primary suite. Owners very responsive and property well-maintained. Only con was that we were there during hot weather (90’s) and the upstairs common areas were very warm in the afternoons. (We closed the blinds but did not lower the roman shades and maybe that would have made a difference. ). We had family staying in various other Tahoe/Donner rentals and everyone agreed ours was the best. Did not make it to the pool area but the members-only beach club (rental comes with passes for 8) was fabulous with a very nice shallow area for the little ones. 5 stars overall.

beautiful home, wonderful hosts

the property is beautiful and the photos do not do it justice. i loved the soaring ceilings and wall of windows in the great room. the dining table seated 12 and was perfect for our multigenerational family get together. the kitchen was amazingly well stocked. but better than all this were the hosts. they were readily available and reached out to us to warn us of impending storms. they offered to lodge us ahead of, and ultimately DID lodge us after our reservation as we waited out the snowpocalypse that was December 2021. would love to stay at this property again. it was hard dragging my daughter away from their amazing downstairs child-cave.

Wonderful house

The location is peaceful, quiet, and feels much further out of the way than it actually is. Quick trips to get supplies are easy, but once back you feel like you're alone in the woods. Nicely appointed. Great kitchen. Very comfortable. Strongly recommend you consider this property for your stay.
