This was a great place in a quiet neighborhood, except for the construction going on next door and the house in front. But that noise was mild. We even saw a BEAR run from the side of the house to the next door house! My kids LOVED that!!!!My only recommendation, add grab bars in the bathrooms and non-slip mats in the bottom of the showers.

Great Spot

We came up for a weekend with our three little ones (7, 5, and 3). The location was perfect. Very close to fun snow activities and in a picturesque setting right by Donner Lake. The layout worked perfectly for our family. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds and we were very pleased that all the bedrooms were on the same level. The house is cozy and well stocked. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was comfortable, clean, and in a great location! The kitchen was beautiful and well-stocked with everything we needed. It was perfect for our family of four. Also, the host was very responsive to requests and questions. We will definitely stay here again!

Great spot

This house was in a great location, close to Donner Lake, 2 minutes off the freeway, 4 minutes from the grocery stores. It was clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen (cookware and plenty of dishes). There were plenty of games for us to play and the Wii was fun for the boys to play. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of blankets available to use. The towels were nice thick and good quality. Sandra was pleasant to communicate with and super easy to talk to. She answered any questions i had regarding the property. Overall, great experience and highly recommend this place.

Cozy and comfortable stay

The check-in process was effortless. The house was clean and comfortable, although it felt small for two families and somewhat dated. A refresh of the duvet covers and basic condiments like sugar and salt in the kitchen would significantly enhance the overall feel of this house.

Vacation Stay

We live in the Sacramento area but wanted to get away, so we chose to stay here as it was only an hour drive but felt like we were in Tahoe with the beautiful trees and Donner lake close by. It was a nice respite but only took one hour to get home! I highly recommend and would stay again! Great for families.

Awesome father's day weekend

Had a great experience at Sandra's house. Communication was great and prompt. House was perfect location of lake, half way from both ends. The Donner party museum, and nature walk is amazing. Fishing on west end beach was great with many activities for the family. .

Great stay!

We had a great stay here in February 2024. It was plenty of space for our family of four with two small kids and grandparents. There were plenty of towels and blankets as well as kitchen supplies. The pots and pans are old and very used, but we made it work. The driveway is very steep, but we managed even with snow throughout our stay. We loved being able to walk down to the lake, stay cozy on the couch, and share meals together.

Beautiful start to the new year

Lovely, clean and comfortable home. Located a block off Donner lake and close to downtown Truckee and skiing. Kitchen is well stocked and beds are very comfortable. Relaxing evenings for drinking wine, playing games ( there are quite a few oldies but goodies). Overnight snow but a plow came and cleared driveway in the morning! Nice to have a garage to park in and close enough to walk to a small market with a great wine selection and a breakfast joint next door. Looking forward to staying there again!

Great house, great location, will be returning!

Loved the location, Lake Donner is beautiful and close to ski areas and Truckee. House was perfect for my family with young children, the kids loved the bunk bed room. Well stocked and lots of games etc for your use. Would 100% recommend.

Wonderful place to celebrate my birthday

My girls weekend at Sandra’s house was wonderful. Everything we needed and great space for all of us. The only piece I would have added was a couple of extra mirrors- even full length. When 6 of us ladies were getting ready to go out to dinner it made it a little challenging with only the 2 vanity mirrors. But otherwise it was perfect and we didn’t want to leave.

Perfect house for us

Perfectly close to the lake for some swimming, and walking distance to Donner State Park. Also discovered the little grocery a couple blocks away which is handy if you just need a couple things. Hopefully we can go back someday.

Perfect Family Friendly Cabin

Perfect cabin with kids. Walking distance to market, breakfast spot and public pier. Short drive to West End beach as well as Donner museum and hikes. We would love to rent from Sandra again.
