We had a wonderful stay. The communication with the host was prompt and courteous. The welcome packet was so complete with instructions and many local suggestions. The home was clean and well laid out. It was well appointed and had everything in it that we needed and more. We will definitely return.

Beautiful house in a great location; we could spread out and work during the day and relax, grill and dine outside at night. We bird-watched in the mornings, hiked, played pool, shuffleboard, and relaxed in the jacuzzi in the evenings. Explored some great coffee shops in nearby Truckee as well.

Even better than advertised

This was our first time in Tahoe after years of summer renting in Sonoma/Napa. What an incredible vacation! Steve & Deborah were extremely responsive before we arrived and then left us alone to enjoy the experience while still fully available in case we had any questions. The house was spectacular in every way imaginable starting with its modern Tahoe luxury style. It was in superb condition and had incredible views, an office nook (with a monitor to expand one's laptop display), well appointed bedrooms, 5-star quality bathrooms and an open kitchen/dining/family area that you would design for your own home if you could. The AC/Heat worked superbly with multiple zones so that everyone could sleep in optimal climates. The internet/wifi etc. worked seemlessly and the 3 car garage meant that no car needed to be parked outside in the heat. The property is in Tahoe Donner and so you have guest passes to all of the facilities (some of which are free and some you pay fees for). Families that visited were in awe of the property and we will definitely be renting again in the future.

Simply fantastic

Stayed at Sugar Pine Estate for our annual family vacation. This was by far the nicest property we’ve ever stayed. With the pool table, horse shoes, shuffleboard table and fire pit, I had a hard time convincing the family to leave the house. But we did…whitewater rafting on the Truckee River, pontoon boat on Lake Tahoe and visit to Donner Lake to name a few. So many great dining experiences. The Mosquito Fire tried to deter us but failed. Deborah was a pleasure to talk to. If you want the best vacation experience ever, look no further.

What a gorgeous home, a delight. Home needed maintenance service during our stay and owners were extremely responsive, courteous and professional. Kids were able to sled and play in the snow for days in the backyard - we didn't need to leave the home! Would definitely stay at again. Thx

Amazing home!

This was an amazing rental home. New and modern, beautifully decorated, it feels like you are staying at your swanky friends’ house! Stocked with everything you could possibly need. The owners have been very generous in furnishing and providing amenities at this property. You will not be disappointed! One of the best Vrbo’s we have seen, and we have rented many! Definitely pricey, but we’ll worth it.

Pictures do not do this place justice

This is the most amazing property we have ever seen. We travel a lot to all kinds of climates and locations for adventures, rest, scenery etc. But this house on this hillside with the utterly amazing outdoor space overlooking nothing but acres clean pine forest were astounding. The house is without a doubt the most interesting architecturally in the area and is so well located. Every detail inside and out will not go unnoticed. Every day you'll see something new that blows your mind. This house while looking completely new without a scratch on it has clearly been impeccably built to not disturb its natural setting. I only wish contractors would even consider this approach where we live. The house is pricey and has no AC but we stayed for 2 straight weeks in July and we are sweaty hothead but it never bothered us a single time. 95 degrees in this mountain top home feels like nothing compared to our swampy humid midwest summers. Barely any flying bugs. I just cannot recommend this house enough. I would avoid Lake Tahoe unless you are going for the winter skiiing. We were there in summer and Donner Lake is so much more lovely (and for grown ups)...not the party crowd. :-)

Amazing Tahoe getaway!

I stayed here with my family and we had an amazing time. The house is gorgeous and a great size for 7 adults. Everyone had their own space and bathroom. There are so many fun things to do at the property- we enjoyed the hot tub, playing pool and shuffle board, and playing board games by the fire place while enjoying the views. The property is huge and the owner provided sleds and snowshoes for our use exploring. The location is ideal- close to downtown Truckee and many ski resorts, we skied at Squaw and Northstar no problem. A few of us had to work while we were up there and there is a great little office and plenty of other good options for remote work, plus the wifi is good. Last but not least, the owners were very helpful and responsive when we had questions. Highly recommend this place for your Tahoe vacation.

Perfect 50th Birthday Get Away

The house is even better than the pictures and the pictures are fantastic. Beautiful house with all of the amenities you expect at this price point. We were there during a large snowstorm and the drive to the house and the walk up to the house was plowed several times including twice in the middle of the night so we didn't have any problems accessing it at all. Right below the property is a trail you can take to downtown Truckee in just a few minutes. The kids made a huge sledding track on the side of the house and had the time of their lives doing Covid online school during the day and snow play and sledding in the afternoon. We had 3 doing school and my husband was working and everyone found quiet spots with no WiFi problems. I wasn't able to have the big 50 party but this was just as special and definitely more memorable. My favorite part was the great coffee bar. Owner was very communicative and friendly.

Excellent Trip

This house was perfect for our group of two families who are quarantining together. We especially liked the large deck off the living room, which has a dining table, a couple couches and a hot tub. It was the perfect spot for eating and relaxing while checking out the view of the mountains. The built-in heaters were a nice touch.
