Winter getaway in the Redwoods!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Took a gamble with the weather and it paid off...no rain all 5 days we were here (December 27th to January 1st). The only thing that could top that was a perfect place to stay...Raven Ridge was just that. Phenomenal property and house. Super cozy and clean...just amazing. Great location and management company are great. I will definitely be back with the family again.

Absolutely wonderful stay. It felt so homey and quiet. Layout of the home was very intimate with all sorts of interesting areas yet open with great architecture. The artwork around the house is exquisite. Landscaping in the redwood forest is a great detail. Convenient to groceries, freeway and parks but feels like it’s miles away. No complaints! Thanks for letting us stay here.

Magical Stay in Trinidad

Such a magical place. Perfect location, easy to get to, close to everything we needed. As someone who has lived in this area this house is amazing. Highly recommend Thank you Larry & Donna for an unforgettable stay and for opening your home to us.

Perfect getaway!

We had a wonderful time at the house! Kids loved feeding the fishes and occasional visit from neighbor's cat that we named Ginger. Loved the trails around the property and everything about the house, and the area.

Peaceful

This property is amazing. We loved the landscaping and forest setting as well as the beauty of the home which seems to have every amenity. The entire experience was on of peacefulness away from everything.

Perfect house!

This place was immaculate and every little amenity was thought of. Would love to definitely come back and stay again, this house was perfect for my family! There are beautiful trails and a hot tub that we all really enjoyed. The town is only 3 minutes away from the house but when your at the house you feel total seclusion. I can’t say enough good things about our stay there, look forward to coming back!

Senior Trip

All of my kids have gotten their choice for a senior trip for high school graduation. This was my youngest , last, and best choice for celebrating.

Absolutely Fabulous!!! A Healing Retreat

Such a beautiful home and property! “Serene” is an understatement… every little detail everywhere is just amazing. It was very comfortable and easy to feel at home. I was hoping they may like to adopt an adult child because I didn’t want to leave!!

Westhaven-Moonstone

The pictures of this property don't do it justice. The house is really set up perfectly, and the property is literally situated within a redwood forest. It's stunning. The fishing town is adorable and breatkingly beautiful. For anyone wanting to see the northern California redwoods or just visit Trinidad, this place is truly spectacular.

The outside was beautifully landscaped, the trails were well marked and easy to walk. The hot was very relaxing after a day out enjoying the area. The beds were comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed the home so much that we requested to stay an additional night. We had a small problem with the TV, we informed the property manager, and he came right over to correct the problem. We will most definitely stay at Ravan Ridge Retreat again.

Very Nice

We loved most everything. We really looked forward to enjoying some movies, but the living room TV, Blu Ray, etc. didn’t work. Someone came right over to help, which was great! But even he could only get the TV to work - kind of. The written directions left for us were outdated. It’s a great system! It just wasn’t working. We still thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Perfect in between spot for hikes from Jedediah down to Avenue of the Giants. House had everything we needed for cooking, relaxing in the hot tub after long Forrest hikes. As well as the fire pit in the cool evenings. Master bed could use a new mattress in my opinion. Outside landscape and pond were beautiful. Trails behind the house were nice with a cup of coffee in the evenings. The beaches n Trinidad were amazing. Be sure to see Wedding Rock and Agate beach at SueMeg park, was best part of our trip! Thanks for offering your beautiful home for our stay.

Very nice overall but with some concerns...

For the price, and especially the additional fees, it was very nice but not quite everything one might assume. 6-2hundred a night, even in a beautiful home with a hot tub and an amazing setting, should get you a better mattress, cleaner features than a moldy BBQ and dangerous decks, less "chores", and certainly no phone calls from the property manager trying to sniff out "the right fit". The emails and all the directions were more than enough to keep us on our toes but also had the effect of dimming the relaxation. What really got us was the 6-4hundred cleaning fee, not as a deposit against our cleanliness, but as a fee no matter how we left it...and there were plenty of asks - feed the fish, strip the bed, put away the dishes, take out the trash and recycling - not unreasonable but if we are doing all this, what is the fee for? Now that we know, we'll stick to local inns like the Requa or Whaler's.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home was an amazing experience. So relaxing and absolutely beautiful. The owners/rental company seem to have thought of everything. There was firewood available for us to use for the outdoor fire pit, food and instructions to feed the fish, an amazing water feature creating a river/waterfall between the ponds, clearly marked trails.., and a home full of beautiful art and artifacts. It felt very special to be in a home so meticulously designed and cared for. We could see so much of the owners’ personal touches, and still felt very comfortable- like it was really our home base for our stay. No need to publish this section, but Just a couple recommendations for you to consider for future- 1-if you truly want guests to not wear shoes in the home, would be great to inform of that in the early communications - to allow us to pack socks or indoor slippers/shoes with support, 2- early guest inform of the dumb waiter would be great too - we brought suitcases upstairs THEN read the binder that said to use the dumb waiter. We’d have happily used the dumb waiter if we had known, but I would bet several guests do what we did - just take suitcases up first and then read the binder later. 3- our vote for your next investment would be upgrade to twin mattresses in downstairs bedroom. They were ok but felt noticeably softer and more worn out than our home beds or the master bed in your home.

Don’t pass this place up. It was heaven!

I don’t know where to start. This is definitely an isolated place where no neighbors can see you, yet it’s still a 5 minute drive to the market. The grounds are incredible. So much beauty and beautiful little trails on the side of the property. Loved the hot tub, upper deck, and the koi pond. The house is full of carefully decorated mementos and memories of a couple who surely has much love for each other and the property. I don’t think I will ever find another. Vrbo again like this and now all other places will disappoint me! We appreciate you sharing your beautiful home and grounds with us. Stay here, your mind will be BLOWN! I could have just stayed at the house all day and have been happy. Great location! Felt like I was in heaven there.

Memorial Weekend

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We gathered at this beautiful home to spend the weekend together for my mother’s funeral and celebration of life in Trinidad. We couldn’t have been in a better place. The redwoods and gardens are spectacular and we hosted my family for a dinner after the memorial. We used the bbq and fire pit and talked about life. It’s very close to Trinidad but you feel far from everything when you’re on the property. The house was spotless and had everything we needed.The house manual is very helpful for using the sound system,hot tub and any other questions you may have. Everything is labeled if it’s off limits. You know your in someones home and we were so comfortable sharing it together. I was concerned over the sleeping arrangements for 2 couples and myself. The large bedroom with the king bed and bathroom is perfect,but the two beds in the downstairs room are not as nice. They can be pushed together. I slept in the loft on the futon and it was very comfortable. We always do our own meals when we travel together and the kitchen is well equipped. I will definitely try and stay there again and book for a longer stay. I didn’t want to leave!

Private Redwood Park

We really enjoyed staying at this residence. The property has its own trails through the Redwoods. The property is also very neatly and beautifully landscaped. The house was full of interesting art and collections. An absolutely wonderful place to just "hang out"!

Amazing area, peaceful and majestic

Driving in to the driveway seems like you’re entering another world. The ponds, decks, hot tub, trails, and all of the details in the house are really nice. Everything was great, we will definitely stay again when we get a chance!

June trip

We were in town for a memorial service and this property was the perfect place to decompress. We all loved the outdoor space and hiking trail. Even though the trail is short, you feel a world away from everything. The house itself was a comfortable place to be. The kitchen is well stocked and has plenty of space to cook in. There is a lot of space to spread out in. The whole place has a cool 80s vibe about it. Definitely would recommend.

Redwood Bliss

Stunningly beautiful home tucked away amongst the redwoods that rival nearby parks. Quite, private, and a great place to connect with nature. The exterior and interior of the home are meticulously maintained and the decor is very elegant yet comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and open to the living area. Whether you are inside or outside, there isn't a spot to be found at this property that isn't breathtaking! It is also minutes to Trinidad and the beautiful coast and not far from Mckinliville and Arcata. You have everything you need close by but you also don't need to and may not want to go anywhere because the house is so magnificent. It was an honor to stay here. We feel extremely fortunate and look forward to retuning!
