Thank you for your review Joanne. To enjoy the view as good as this the home is elevated so better to travel with a car unless fit given the walk back up the hill from the village. We use Sigma Supermarket which is only a 5 minute drive from the home for all our shopping as a good size with all amenities as well as the convenience stores in Mezzegra and the bakery, cafe bar and Magnolia bar on the lake front. Recycling is part and parcel of like on the lake. Como and it's lake is an area of outstanding natural beauty and recycling helps keep it this way. There is a special recycling area in Lenno 5 minutes from the home for guests as we showed you on arrival to help dispose of your waste during your stay or on departure which is makes life much easier for our guests.

We appreciate your kind comments regarding our service as we do try and provide a personal service for all guests with local knowledge to help you get the very most your stay. Regarding the points raised regarding the beds, until now we have only received positive comments. Of course we understand some guests prefer a firmer mattress and some a softer one and what deemed firm for one guest is perfect for another so we do monitor comments to ensure the home is always comfortable. Regarding the removal of waste on departure the communication is perfectly clear. As you rightly state “Como is immaculate and stunningly beautiful and for this there are strict rubbish regulations.“ The commune wish to keep it this way as the opposite is waste everywhere which would spoil the natural beauty and environment as I am sure you would agree. Hence the rule applies for all homes here in the area and not just ours. We advise our guests that waste should be removed and provide bags as you mention and the recycle chart to take the waste to the entrance of the residence on the allocated days so that you are not left with any waste to remove on departure. As you mention nobody wants to remove smelly bin bags on departure hence the instructions to leave the waste in front of the residence as instructed on arrival. I understand this may have been stressful for you however the cleaning team called us before we met you to advise there were a huge amount of garbage that had not been removed on departure and as confirmed you previously this is a condition of returning the security bond. Clearly our intention is for the waste to be removed and the bond returns to you. To this end we accompanied you to the recycling area 5 minutes from the home on departure and duly returned your bond. To confirm the cleaning cost charged to you and other guest is 125 euro and not £125 as you have incorrectly stated. It is not to remove waste which is clearly communicated to all guests with your reservation. This payment is to professionally clean the home, provide towels and linen.We do not ask the bin men to change the beds. You are welcome here anytime Julie but if you decide to come back as you have pondered, you will need to recycle or remove waste here or at any home in the area as requested by the local council to preserve the natural beauty of the lake.

The walk from the village in Lenno is steep and therefore takes 15 minutes on the way back as opposed to 10 minutes down the hill. Mezzegra village is closer where the home is located. Of course to enjoy such views and a peaceful location a walk is necessary as the home is located away from the main lake road although by car the village is a few minutes drive only. With many other properties on the lake you are located next to the main road and noisy traffic like the home you stayed in last year Maria. So i suppose it is a trade off. Even though it was very rare for any power cut during guest stays , as past reviews indicate, as we supply guests with instructions on arrival not to overload the electric, we have updated the electrical system in April 2018 to avoid the electrical system tripping. The roads are narrow along the lake so we do recommend bringing a smaller vehicle however the secure garage reserved for all guests will fit to medium size cars such as the fiat 500 grande.
