The view was beyond amazing and we loved staying outside the hustle of Gatlinburg. Our teens loved the video game room and we spent several nights around tbe fire pit and even saw a baby bear walking along the driveway. Will definitely stay here again

We have been coming to the Smokies for over 30 years. Have been there at least 25 times. We always stay in Townsend, Tennessee, the Peaceful Side! Of all the places we have stayed, this was the best! Awesome accommodations! The view from the back is incomparable! Absolutely beautiful! Couldn’t get any better! Our family loved it! Will definitely return!

What a fabulous family vacation home! After tubing, ziplining, Cades Cove, Dollywood, jumping off rocks at the Wye and the Sinks, riding horses at Davy Crockett stables, and exploring Tuckaleechee Caverns, our family returned to the beautiful Bear Den Lodge to enjoy the wonderful mountain views, the hot tub, the game room, the fire pit, the pool/fitness center, and the expansive decks that connected us to the sights, sounds, and wildlife of the Smokies! Kurt and Jill even surprised us with fresh apple pies one afternoon! Their cabin is welcoming in every way! There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 4 children (ages 10, 5, 5, 3) to enjoy each other for the entire week! The kitchen is well-stocked, the large island accomodated our large family, the living areas are inviting, the four bathrooms and large showers made bedtime easy, the bunk beds made sleeping with cousins special, and the decks made a cups of coffee in the morning and glasses of wine at night a perfect start and end to your day! Kurt quickly responded to our emails from booking to checkout and sincerely wanted us to enjoy our stay. Do not hesitate to book this outstanding lodge...We all agreed it was the best rental we have ever had, and it deserves a rating of 10!

A wonderful stay!

Everything about our stay was incredible! Kurt & Jill were easy to deal with and always quickly responded to questions. There were 10 additional it’s and it was the perfect size for all of us! The kitchen was nice and big so there was plenty of room for family divers between the counters with stools and table and the kitchen was surprisingly well stocked with essentials for cooking. But where we spend the most time was outside of the deck taking in the ever changing scenery of the mountains. We had family and friends in from Wisconsin and Georgia for my dad’s 80th birthday and EVERYONE was so pleased and had the best time!

Beautiful homeThis kitchen was well stocked with anything you would need to cook family meals during your stay. And plenty of counter space on the island. The s’mores kit and other snacks left for us was nice. Host was responsive and helpful First time staying in Townsend; Enjoyed the peacefulness of this side of the Smokies.

Excellent stay with the best views of Smoky Mountains

We stayed over the Fourth of July and the house was a perfect place for our family to relax and play. We were able to enjoy tubing, waterfall hikes, the Cades Cove Loop biking, fishing and more. The house was very clean and had a lot of games. We loved the Dancing Bear cafe restaurant nearby. This was the perfect location for our vacation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bear's Den! The cabin was fully stocked and was spacious for our family. The views were spectacular and we were visited by the local wildlife! The hosts also surprised us with an apple pie the day we arrived! We will definitely have this on the list to stay in the future.

Perfect getaway

The views are breath taking from the very moment you unlock the door. This is a beautiful,Thoughtfully appointed home built with TLC. We were so comfortable here and all of our four kids had plenty of their own space. The owner was each to reach and provided quick assistance. The house is clean and well appointed, especially in the kitchen. We will definitely be back!

Gorgeous Cabin with Beautiful Views!

This is a 10 plain and simple. Spent Christmas week there. The house has huge porches with views of the Smokys from each room! The kitchen is huge with EVERYTHING you need to cook and eat like a BOSS. The house is well stocked and the hot tub is a great plus! Making s’more s in front of the fire was also amazing! I wouldn’t hesitate to book this place in the future!

Beautiful mountain home

Our family of eight enjoyed a wonderful 5-night stay at this amazing property. The owner's pride in their home and consideration for their guests is evident throughout. The kitchen, bedrooms, and living room are all well-outfitted and decorated. Everyone said their beds were comfortable. The views from the cabin are stunning! We were in Townsend for our son's wedding, and Bear's Den made the perfect base for us. The newlyweds loved having their own studio bedroom and private balcony. We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back!

This cabin was even better than the amazing photos can capture! The attention to detail in decor, cleanliness, maintenance, and guest convenience are truly unparalleled among all the vacation homes I’ve encountered. The home is magnificent and views majestic. The thought put into creating an enjoyable experience for guests really sets this experience apart. From ease of entry, to inviting aroma as you arrive. The kitchen was fully stocked with good cookware and appliances, welcoming seasonal decor, and amenities like soap, shampoo, marshmallow roasting sticks, s'more's making kit and a set of binoculars. Comfortable beds and bedding, a wine cooler, quality towels, awesome lighting-there are no corners cut. The hosts’ attention to detail, luxurious furnishings and commitment to excellence truly made this retreat feel like home.

Sweet!

The Bear's Den is absolutely stunning. Great mountain views from every room. It is very well appointed and feels like home. Close to the golf course club house so it's easy to get to the pool or have a cocktail close by. There is plenty of space for family activities, which we took full advantage of. Great place to unwind and spend quality time with loved ones. The owners are VERY responsive and accommodating. I was impressed with their communication and sincere efforts to make it an amazing stay with good memories to take with us.

Memory making mountain home and black bears

Located a short distance from town, this secluded home provided our family of 6 adults and 5 children, life long memories of beautiful sunrises and sunsets, multiple encounters with black bears and time away from the crowds that flock to the Smokies mountains every summer.
