What a find !

Had a lovely stay with a group of friends. Modern fresh tasteful interior. Rooms all en-suite with all usual facilities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great choice for breakfast, with best omelettes ever and catered for food allergies. Will definitely be coming back.

Fantastic stay wonderful hosts. Beautiful brekkie

We had a 5 day stop over and from the time we arrived we felt very welcomed. Andrew and Penny amazing hosts. The weather was amazing. Andrew always made us welcome ready to serve drinks on the patio. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Miss it already and we have only been left since this morning. The B&B so clean Cov 19 regulated and everyone was very respectful in distancing. We will be back!!!

Good, clean, friendly and professionally run set-up. Any questions were helpfully answered and all covid related measures were in place. Breakfast was very good. Parking is a bit tight but at least is available.

Andrew was the perfect host, I’m very picky with my food and he made me my own breakfast each morning and provided Soya milk for us it didn’t go unnoticed we really appreciate his efforts. He also helped us find a beautiful walk and lunch. Lovely area very close to town and walking distance to Babbacombe also. Room was clean and tidy and everything we needed. Can’t fault it at all.

Overnight stop

We booked Ferndale Lodge as a last minute stop over. On arrival the host was welcoming and went through all covid procedures including temp checks. The room was at the top of the building which involved a lot of stairs but it keeps you fit. The room was of a good standard but could do with a little touch up with a paintbrush. The en suite was of ok but the water pressure for the shower was a bit low but that is probably due to the height. The lodge is in easy walking distance of the seafront and town centre. Breakfast was great with a good choice, we both had a full English which was very tasty and my coeliac wife was able to enjoy it too as the sausages were gluten free which is always a bonus. Overall I would stay again and would recommend it to anyone wanting a stay in Torquay. We will be stopping by again.

Helpful and accommodating

A very comfortable stay whilst we were working to support the local hospital. Helpful and accommodating even under the currently difficult (Covid regime) circumstances. Very well located for work around Torbay and a welcome change from standard business chain hotels. We will no doubt use again.

Fantastic service - a real gem

The hotel service was excellent. I had a bad trip down as my train was delayed by over 2 hours. The hotel staff stayed up for me, gave me useful advice on taxis and getting there, collected my takeaway as all the restaurants were shut(!), and then gave me cutlery and a plate to eat when i arrived. When you're tired, cranky and hungry, you really appreciate these things. Room was comfortable and breakfast the next morning was excellent. I would happily stay here again.

Would definitely come back...

All rooms have been recently refurbished, very clean and tidy. The outside had just been completely repainted and there are plans for a large deck area. Currently there's a nice little courtyard area where we sat and enjoyed the odd bottle of beer & glass of wine. Breakfasts were good with choice of continental through to the 'full english' Our host was very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Location was okay situated at the top end of the main shopping 'High street', fairly easy walk down to the main harbour area. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Great little B&B

Great little B&B in a good location, close to Torquay centre and harbour, and a good base for travelling around the area. Room was clean and tastefully decorated, with a four poster bed. Bathroom was small but adequate for a short stay. Breakfast was very good, with a good choice and quality ingredients. Overall I would recommend the Ferndale Lodge if staying in Torquay.

Recommended

Visited for a couple of nights with friends of ours. Room was clean and the bed comfortable; en suite was spotless and the shower hot!! WiFi worked in all parts of the hotel. Weather was really good so only spent a limited amount of time at the property but while we were there it was great. Plenty of choice for Breakfast and it was all well presented and well cooked. Staff were always pleasant and helpful, couldn’t do enough for us. Nice little terrace area if you just wanted to sit and chill. Located about 15 minute walk from the Harbour, close enough to be practical but far enough from the town centre not to be affected by the late night revellers (which all towns/cities have). Would recommend for anyone looking for a base to discover Torquay/Paignton/Brixham (which we did).

Long weekend break

Great hotel in prime location. The owner greeted us on arrival and was extremely welcoming and helpful. After a long journey it was nice to sit on the terrace with a cold beer and wine. The reception area and dining room where both lovely areas. There is ample choice at breakfast and all cooked food from the menu is cooked to order. The full english is the simply the best. Thankyou

숙박은 그냥 그럭저럭했습니다. 도로쪽 방이어서 조금 소란스러웠습니다. 그리고 방에 있는 수건은 절대 손대지마시고 꼭 개인 수건을 사용하세요. 체크아웃시에는 방 사진을 찍고 사용하신 수건을 꼭 확인받으세요. 안그러시면 호텔주인이 체크아웃후 수건이 없어졌다며 메일로 통보후 당신의 신용카드에서 수건비용 68달러를 아무런 승인없이 무단으로 빼간 후 내 개인정보를 공유해서 톨베이의 어느 호텔에서도 숙박할수 없다는 협박을 받게 될것입니다. 그러니 필히 개인수건을 사용하시길 권장합니다. 저는 도둑이라는 오명을 벗기위해 파리에서 톨베이까지 비행기 비용 1500파운드(3명이었습니다)를 들여서 다시 톨베이에 간다음 경찰서에 가서 제 소지품 확인 신청을 하여 오명을 벗고 호텔주인과 경찰관이 통화해서 68달러에 대한 결제 취소를 받았습니다. 한국인이나 동양인은 이런 부분을 참고하시어 예약하시길 바랍니다.

Ongoing Work

Unfortunately the hotel was being refurbished which meant we had no lounge or bar to relax in during the evening. Also the optional evening meal was not available due to this ongoing work. What we saw of the work that had been completed we think when it is all finished it will be a lovely hotel. The breakfast choice was excellent and the breakfast was well cooked and very enjoyable.

Central location, friendly staff.

This hotel has 10 guest rooms. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, but small. Evening meals and lunches are not available; only breakfast. If you are looking for B&B on a budget, then I would recommend this hotel. 24/11/17.
