The cabin was perfect for our family of 10 to celebrate Christmas. Everything about it was wonderful!! The kitchen, the decor, the view and communication with our host! We loved having coffee on the porch every morning and sitting by the fire on the screened porch every evening! We all decided this cabin was a "keeper" and we hope to return one day! Thank you Craig and Andrea for sharing your home with us!

Amazing Family Vacation

What a great stay! This house is beautiful, perfectly private, and packed with activities to do (inside the lodge and out). Our group of ten people ranged in ages from 1 to 75 and there was something for everyone! Our days were spent swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, playing cards/games, and enjoying meals together. We found the lodge very clean. I was impressed with how well stocked it was with essentials (not all are like that) and the "extras" which made our stay even more enjoyable (two baby gates which were a Godsend with the 1yo). Craig was very responsive and helpful. We cant wait to visit again.

Such a peaceful home in the serenity of Nantahala!

We were visiting for my brother’s wedding and had such a lovely visit! The house easily accommodated our group of 7 (two small kids) and could have comfortably fit a handful more. The kitchen was well stocked, lounge areas very comfortable for nights hanging with the family, and bathrooms very suitable for all the work that goes into wedding prep :) The beds were very comfortable and everyone felt like they had great nights’ sleep—very needed after long travels from the West Coast! But perhaps above all of that was Craig’s communication and responsiveness. He was SO helpful and friendly. He truly made our trip. And make sure you listen to his advice on getting a 4WD for the steep gravel driveway! We went in early Nov and there was one drizzly day that our 2WD barely made it out. Thank you so much for the great stay!

Quiet cove

Echo cabin was exactly as described. Fantastic lake views!! Fully stocked, great layout and easy lake access!! Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed soaking up the view from the many porches, hot tub and the dock. Owners were very quick to respond to questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Awesome!! Disconnect for a Week!

Well from the moment we walked in you could tell someone took great care in making the place one you would remember! The music was softly playing in the master bedroom lighting was on and it was chilled off nicely! And the view! Incredible!!!! We really enjoyed our stay and the owner texted us and communicated with us all week about things we were curious or recommendations needed. It was like texting a friend and very quick to respond. The lake was great food at marina was awesome as well as the staff. they delivered the rental boat right to dock as well as our friday night pizza!! Anyways Def would stay again The Lutz Family

Great house for a family vacation!

Echo Lake Lodge works really well for a group like ours -- tweens, teens, parents, and grandparents! The kids loved the cozy loft upstairs, where the bunks are, and also the great hang-out game room on the ground floor. The adults basically lived on the deck with the beautiful lake view. Nice big comfortable open living area to accommodate everyone at meals and for socializing, but there were also great nooks and crannies for slipping away with a book or for a nap. Great dock with an umbrella. Very typical Lake Nantahala caveats for those who haven't visited the lake before: driveways are gravel and very steep, as are steps and paths down to the water, but our grandparent-generation did fine at this house. Loved having the kayaks and canoe available. Host was very responsive, helpful, and friendly! Would definitely visit again.

Paradise!

Everything about our stay on Lake Nantahala was perfect! We can't say enough about how comfortable and well-stocked the lodge was. The large decks, screened porched with a fireplace, swinging bed, comfortable beds and furnishings, first-class amenities...We could go on and on! The lodge was clean and well designed, so our whole family could be together, or we could spread out and have our own space. And that's just the lodge! Lake Nantahala is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. The kayaks and paddleboard were a hit for our family! So fun to paddle around the bend for ice cream at the marina/store. As stated by other reviews, the host was so helpful in every step of the process. So many helpful notes and instructions in the lodge to make everything go so smoothly! Definitely a new favorite get-away spot for our family!!

Quiet and relaxing

It was an amazing experience, being on the lake you could enjoy time on the dock, deck, or in the water. It was nice getting away from electronics and focus on the surrounding nature.

Wonderful stay

My family stayed at this property in July and we had a wonderful experience. The house is immaculate and the views of the lake/mountains are absolutely breathtaking. Management was pleasant and responsive to inquiries or needs (replaced an empty propane tank within 30 minutes via boat delivery). We would visit again in a heartbeat!

Breathtaking!

We loved our stay at this cabin! The home was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Equipped with all the amenities, you would need. The master bed was super comfy. The views of the lake were breathtaking. We enjoyed early mornings sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds while overlooking the lake. In the downstairs area, we enjoyed playing foosball, bumper pool, and darts. The bed swing on the second-floor porch was a wonderful surprise. Our daughter enjoyed canoeing and swimming in the lake. This hidden gem was quiet, clean, and just what we needed to relax and get away. The creek alongside the home was peaceful and calming. We would definitely book this cabin again. Craig, our host, was very friendly and accommodating throughout our entire stay. We would totally recommend staying here! Thank you for sharing your home with us. The Reynolds Family

Beautiful lakehouse, convenient to the marina and Nantahala river area

We spend a week at Nantahala Lake every summer and this house is our favorite. The highlights: Expansive decks with beautiful lake views and convenient lake access. Large, well-equipped dock without the hundreds of stairs required to access it that you find at other lakefront properties. Private creek and firepit area. Beautifully laid out in the natural environment. House is clean, roomy, and had plenty of activities and amenities for all ages. Easy drive or canoe ride to the marina. Highly recommended.

This home is gorgeous with breathtaking views of the lake.

Beautiful home and location. Very spacious for our large extended family. The porches are comfortable and inviting. The dock was very stable and secure. We enjoyed the paddle boarding and canoeing. Our favorite spot on this lovely lake.

Beautiful serene lake views, you bring the fun!

We had a fabulous family vacation (2 kids, 2 adults, 3 seniors). Recommend communicating directly with owner - Craig - once you have his info because he is incredibly responsive & helpful. He helped us have a package delivered to the property for our arrival, provided clear directions to the property and info on a local marina to rent a boat from. He also reached out and offered us an early checkin! Home was well stocked with everything from paper towel to trash bags to lake towels to spices and so much more! Views are amazing, 2 outside decks (with tons of comfy seating including a hammock), part of upper is screened with TV! Nice new appliances - huge washer/dryer, nice grill, etc... Fantastic dock with kayaks, canoe and paddle board! Hot tub is perfect to warm up in after lake fun! Cabin can easily accommodate 8 adults and 6 kids. We had an amazing time here!

Our Favorite VRBO Rental!

This home is exactly that, a home. So beautiful and the owners attention to detail was apparent. It had everything that our two families needed to make it a memorable trip. We cooked gourmet meals every night, played games from the house, enjoyed the hot tub, explored the lake and even snuck in a movie night from the owners collection of DVDs. Craig was awesome and helpful. No bees in sight except where they were supposed to be (in nature). This is an annual trip and by far our favorite house. Thanks for having us!

Lake Nanatahala

We struggled with a hornet/bee infestation in the house for most of the week. It was absolutely awful. 2 of the kids got stung. When we called the property manager he sprung into action immediately but the hornets/bees were so bad it took several days to eradicate them inside the house. The decks, both upper and lower were not clean and there were spider webs everywhere.

Family Trip

We spent a week at this wonderful house. There were 10 of us from 9 - 77 years. There was plenty of space for everybody and the location was beautiful. We rented a boat from the local marina and enjoyed every day on the lake. Craig was incredibly helpful with an issue we had with our car and his head of maintenance, Mikey, went above and beyond.

2921 Retirement Vacation Week

Great way to celebrate my husbands retirement. Echo Lodge did not disappoint. Spacious enough for our entire family and the screened in porch with fireplace and TV was so relaxing each night. We would bring a 4 wheel drive next time. Getting into the cabin can be a little tricky but it was so worth it!!

The Perfect Home

Where do I begin? Our vacation at this lovely home was absolutely perfect. There were so many things about this home that stood out to us that we truly enjoyed. There were beautiful chimes that made such relaxing sounds, a hummingbird feeder that attracted lots of tiny birds that we loved to watch, a floating turtle trampoline that the children had a blast on, a canoe, kayaks, stand up paddleboard, a fireplace near the lake where we made s'mores, and my absolute favorite thing was the swing bed on the porch. Everything about this home made our family vacation extra special and the memories we made there will last a lifetime. We hope to go back again someday.

Beautiful place, wonderful view, well equipped!!

We loved this place, beautiful! During the rainy season I’d recommend a heavy car or 4 wheel drive, the mountain is steep going up to get out. Also stock up on groceries an beverages the county is dry, grocery is a little far. Orher than that, it was amazing!!!

Amazing lake cabin

If you are looking for a that cabin feel on a lake in a more remote area, this is the place for you. This was the 6th cabin trip together for our two families and we were not disappointed. The drive in was nice, a short distance off the main road, but still that gravel road drive in that puts you in the cabin life. The driveway was steep as other reviewers have mentioned, but nothing uncommon in the cabin world. The cabin itself was very welcoming with more than enough space to spread out and enjoy the peacefulness that the outdoors offer. For our week, the outside screened in area with a fireplace was our main stay for the evenings as it rained just about every day, which didn't allow us to use the fire pit once. The lake, canoe, and kayaks were a bonus which the kids really enjoyed. Plan accordingly for grocery store visits, as it is about a 30 minute one way trip to the closest store. We did visit the NOC twice during our trip. Once to go white water rafting and a second time to use their zip line and ropes course, highly recommend for anyone visiting. The owners of the cabin were very helpful and responsive. Thank you for inviting us to your home and letting it be ours for a week! Cheers!
