It was an incredible experience to stay on the water with unbelievable views! The cabin’s cosy feel was a perfect way to end our day of exploring tofino. The 4 min boat ride to and from the main land was a wonder on it’s own, with the most spectacular landscape.

We had the best time! Loved the experience of being right on the water watching whales and sea otters and loons. Everything we needed we had. Pearl was so accommodating getting us back and forth to town by boat.

This is such a magical place, from fishing off the front porch to watching jelly fish swim by the porthole all night, this property has it all. It was a chilly March but Pearl kept us stocked with extra blankets and propane for the heater. It is so cozy and warm that you forget you are in a float house. Pearl was very easy to arrange rides to/from the harbour and you can feel the sense of community all around you. 10/10 we will be back!

This is certainly a paradise on water with a cozy feel that is legendary. There is quite a history with the family that owns Strawberry Island. Our host Pearl was so friendly and accommodating. She is definitely an island professional with stellar boating skills. With our family of 5; 3 kids under 12 years old and a chocolate lab, this place was perfect for us. The kitchen was well equipped, but when we were there the oven didn't work. It didn't matter to us because we only used the stove-top. There were a variety of fun games, including cribbage and battleship. The viewing hole on the floor was a hit with the kids. Every morning and evening as part of our bed time routine, we would look down into the water and watch a few small fish swim by. There is a good working heater that heats up the place quickly and adequately, but be mindful of the propane tank levels. Waking up on the water is just a beautiful experience. We even saw a harbour seal right outside a few feet away from our window. Various wildlife everywhere, this place truly was exceptional.

Recommend! Everything was exactly as stated and shown. Property was very clean, linens/towels were good quality bed was very comfortable.The property manager was so helpful and accommodating. Many opportunities for extra activities through the property manager.

Cozy cabin, comfy bed, right on the water- the window down to the ocean is awesome for watching critters swimming around. Organizing rides to/from the houseboat was easy and efficient. Host was friendly and ensured I had everything need to be comfortable. Perfect spot to get away!

It was an amazing accommodation. Right on the ocean. We had a wonderful night. The host was amazing and lives close by which was comforting, not that it was necessary. Pick up and drop off went smoothly. The time there was serene!

We recommend this stay to anyone visiting Tofino. It’s such a cozy experience. We’ve stayed twice and brought our dogs, who LOVE the boat ride to the dock. We’ll be back again for sure!

Pearl and her amazing cabin on the water village are two of the best things in Tofino.It's a true authentic Tofino experience. Rustic but clean.Pearl was super helpful and was quick to respond to our text messages. A local gem! Could have stayed for a month.

The location of this stay was incredible, beds were comfy and host was friendly. Communication was good once we arrived but questions beforehand got a bit muddled. There is no free parking in tofino.The oven did not work. If you want to have more than one return trip to the island per day you have to pay extra. We used BBQ, looked at the stars and you could see the bioluminescent at night which was amazing We loved our stay in this basic but fantastically located accomadation.

Road Trip 2025

Thanks so much to the wonderful folks on Strawberry Island! The float house is a cute little space with not tons of amenities but very comfortable. I had the best sleeps there! It's so quiet and the gentle rocking of the ocean is ideal for a restful night.Pearl is a great hostess, and very flexible with the boat roads to and from the island. We were made to feel very much at home. Reilly is so cheerful and our fishing trip with Joel and Luc was a huge success! I definitely recommend Strawberry Island to anyone who is looking for a unique stay when at Tofino. I will be staying there again if (when!) I return.
