Wonderful time at Bella Terra

We had a wonderful stay at Bella Terra for spring break. Two families of four enjoyed the property and had plenty of room to spread out. The owner and property manager were responsive and ensured we enjoyed our stay. Jane had the kitchen and refrigerator stocked. Upon arrival. We enjoyed watching the whales show off from the back patio area. Will definitely stay here again!

Spacious Baja Home in a great location

Perfect relaxing vacation destination

Our group of 9 friends had a wonderful time in Todos Santos. The house was perfect with views of whales swimming by seen from the deck. The kitchen had everything needed including species, 2 refrigerators, and all the needed equipment. The house was all we hoped for. We walked the beach each day, eat and shopped in town. Perfect!

Amazing week in todos!

3 families with kids 8-16 stayed for a week and had a blast! The house is spacious and the beds were comfortable. There was a variety of kitchen supplies and cooking utensils available. The outside is the best part of the house - beautiful, comfortable, and shaded. The pool is not heated and it was in the 70s when we were there, so only the kids were brave enough to go in the pool.

2-Star Experience at a 5-Star Price

The house has its fair share of pros and cons. The pool and outdoor eating area are very nice with decorative landscaping and sweeping views of the ocean. Other reviews have pointed to the pool being unheated, but we came during the summer and the temperature was perfect. The patio is not child friendly, there is a steep drop and no railing. The beach is a close walk and is very clean, but not swimmable beach due to the extremely strong rip tides and as noted in the guest book. Downtown Todos Santos is a short drive from the house. The best part of the vacation was Los Cerritos Beach. The beds are comfortable and all of the bathrooms and showers are nice. The master suite is considerably larger and nicer than all other bedrooms as mentioned in previous reviews. We had few issues during our stay that were met with “It’s Mexico” from current management as a rationale and as a method of justification (cockroaches, long power outage and no running water). The property manager brought over roach motels and later a jug of drinking water during 13 hr power outage. Given that these are known issues, it is unclear why management wouldn’t have already put out cockroach motels or stocked the house with water in the event of a lengthy power outage (running water is tied to power). Checkout also proved to be its own adventure. Our late checkout that was approved by the homeowner was not communicated to the property manager so we were essentially told to leave 40 minutes early. The property manager also engaged one of the guests at checkout in an exchange that can only be described as terribly unprofessional by ordering her to get rid of some stray dogs that were in the yard because of the property’s inadequate outer gate. We had already spent more than a day trying to lead the strays off the property, and also trying to avoid being bit, only to have them return, again, through the closed gate. Despite this, $400 was withheld from the security deposit for violating “the pet policy.” Areas for Improvement: Cockroach motels set up, and jugs of water and a water dispenser provided prior to arrival, if in fact both cockroaches and power outages are as common as we were told. Offering an arrival greeting to show guests key amenities like the laundry room, path to take to the beach, etc. Surge protectors in every bedroom – we experienced a power surge in addition to the outage that fried a laptop charger as well as an iPhone charger.

Beautiful outdoor patio

This is a nice house with space for all guests to have privacy. The master bedroom is fabulous with a beautiful view. For me the gem of the place is the backyard. Lots of seating with beautiful views. I hear there is an update of furnishings in the works and I think it will make the house even more desirable.

Large home good for groups

This home is roomy. It will benefit from the upgrades the owner has advertised. A cookware upgrade would be recommended. We enjoy cooking and cookware was old and limiting. Pillows could be upgraded and more plentiful too. Disappointed to be charged an extra cleaning fee at checkout. This has never been our experience on VRBo before. We do the dishes and take out the trash, strip beds and start washer with sheets. As noted, we had our grandchildren and there were fingerprints I’m sure. Sorry about that but couldn’t be helped.

Perfect Mexican getaway

A group of nine of us stayed here as we were in Todos Santos for a wedding. Great location and privacy for our group. We loved the multiple places to hangout in the house, the open kitchen and amenities, and the amazing views of the ocean (and the sounds of waves in the background as a “natural” white noise to fall asleep to). The hosts were available and very responsive throughout our visit for any questions we had. Short walk to the beach and there were some great little restaurants and cafes close to the house. We would definitely make a return trip here.

Exceptional

Our family, from Seattle, and friends from Greece staid for 12 days and had the most wonderful time together. The location is perfect. Great weather, wonderful view, close to town. The whales came through every day and so did all the beautiful birds. Arturo was a pleasure to work with. Quick with an answer and easy going. Thank you for the wonderful escape! Nice place, bedroom disparity

House is beautiful. Amazing view, beautiful sunsets, very quiet beach, short drive to town. My only issue is the house has one AMAZING bedroom and the others are quite a bit smaller. Great if you have parents and a bunch of teens, but tricky if you have a group of couples. Otherwise the house is very spacious which we all appreciated. easy communication with host. Also, the pool isn't heated. Doesn't seem like any of the pools around are heated, but we only used it once for a short swim—too chilly!

Mexico 2020

We had a fabulous time at Bellaterra Estates where we were greeted by Arturo who showed us around and then left us to get all settled in for our first evening. We awoke to find a beautiful view and trail to the ocean to watch the whales and bat rays stir up the ocean. Todos Santos is one of our favorite little towns to find friendly people, good service and many excellent and authentic places to eat! Arturo also made a beautiful birthday cake for one of our friends celebrating her 51st birthday here in Mexico ! Thank you Chef! Go fishing with the locals, visit Cerritos and Las Palmas beach 🏖 and just relax and enjoy your stay. We sure did!

It Rained!

Every thing is pretty good but the beach access! Which is full of weeds and really hard to walk, you need some all terrain boots. It rained and we had some floods that came into some rooms, my clothes got wet and some luggage too. They told me that I couldn't receive any visitors and some of my family lives in Todos Santos so they wanted to visit us, but they couldn't, so I had to pay a lot extra for accepting them to visit me, and this is not announced in the public summary of the house. So be careful, if you have 11 guest or more, they may kick you out off the house and take the deposit. However the house is pretty nice and the view of the stars is amazing! The pool has a heating system which is hidden and turned off, so ask the manager to turn it on for really enjoying the house!

A group of friends stayed at Bellaterra and next door at Mariposa, and couldn't have been happier. These houses are beautifully designed and well maintained, the pools and decks we're a dream, and the views are spectacular.

Perfect for our group of 10 friends!

The short review if you just want to get right down to it would be this: This place is fantastic, just as advertised and we would stay here again in a heart beat so we can highly recommend it. Primarily, it was fun, beautiful, SAFE and Arturo, the on site manager, was beyond helpful. For a longer review if you are new to this area and are trying to decide if this is the exact spot for you I'll say a bit more... The house is located about 3ish miles past (north) of Todos town center and in our van it took about 15 min...if you have to drive at night do it slow for the sake of random road condition and literally horses on the road at times...but all things considered driving in this area is extremely easy and we felt safe everywhere we went. The house itself is fantastic. The photos represent the house very accurately but the the upstairs rooms can only be access from the outside stair case (more on this later with the keys). One of the upstairs bedrooms is actually located from a separate exterior staircase and is almost apart from the house and does not get a view which was something that caught our group unexpected. I would say that the house is NOT kid friendly for anyone that has toddlers due to the large drop off form the patio...but totally fun for any adults. We all felt extremely safe the entire time in the area and in the house (big gate around the place)...although you are kinda in the middle of nowhere, there are several other houses around you so you don't feel like you're on an island. I'll say again that Arturo is the Man!!! He was there promptly to check us in, helped us via text message and was extremely helpful the entire time...you have to go check out his BBQ joint down the street! With that said if I was going give constructive criticism for the house it would be the house keys--upon check in, you are given a key chain with about 15 unmarked keys on them. As its best to keep the gate and the house lock at all times even when you are in it this became a bit of a running (not so funny) joke--1 key for the gate, 1 for the front door, 1 for the upstairs doors, 1 for the exterior room and so on......this should not keep you from renting this house, but you will know just what I'm referring to after about day 2 when your rattling keys and wondering who has the set so you can get into your room or into the house in the early morning. So with all that, I hope this helps you find your perfect spot in Todos...this was ours!

Spacious home in a beautiful location

My family and a group of friends had a lovely stay at this home in Todos Santos. Everything met or exceeding expectations. It was a very spacious home with lots of room for us to spread out, a short walk to a beautiful beach, and a lovely outdoor patio to enjoy coffee and margaritas. A couple of notes highlighted elsewhere to be aware of when making your selection. It's not a swimming beach (the surf is too strong) but the kids had a great time playing in the sand and it was great for walks. The pool isn't heated so it's a little chilly in the winter months (the kids didn't mind). The upstairs bedrooms are only accessible through an outside staircase. Not a problem at all as they are two bathrooms up there but it might impact sleeping arrangements. Finally, we worked with Arturo to have dinner prepared one evening and it was a highlight of the trip. Otherwise, a great time. Day trips to Playa Cerritos, Playa Los Palmas, Todo Santos, and La Paz. We also booked yoga at the nearby yoga retreat (Pachamama) and massages at Spa California. We'd definitely go back.
