Shawn, We are so surprised and disappointed by your review. We wish you would've let us know about any concerns you had. There is absolutely no smoking allowed in the house. The smell was probably because we have a real wood burning fireplace and not a gas fireplace. The houses are on a a quarter of an acre and about 40 ft. apart as our pictures and video show. We are in a gated community just like most of the other lake houses in the Poconos and guests need to check in at the welcome center to get a gate pass. I can't fathom how that could be termed "Brutal." Although it may be a bit inconvenient, it is only done once during your stay. You said the property was nice. We take great care in maintaining our property including having the same cleaning service for 16 years. We have many return guests and excellent reviews as you can see. We're sorry you were without water for 45 minutes. We immediately called Penn American Water and they had a guy there in less than 45 minutes. He tapped some regulating valve and you were good to go. Also, you could use the toilets(2), but you would only get one flush until the water was fixed. Still not sure what someone else's hot tub not working has to do with our review.

Ann, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad you found the lake peaceful and serene. While it is shallow at the waters edge, the depth in the middle is about 30 feet. It is true that motorboats aren’t allowed. However sail boats are allowed.

We’re glad you enjoyed you stay. There is a laminated instruction card on the wall that instructs people how to charge the trolling motor battery. Also, the battery is a marine grade deep cycle battery. That, combined with the “smart charger” the battery should only take a few hours to charge. If you had told us about the battery while you were still at the house we could have walked you through charging the battery. Thanks again for renting with us.

Jonathan, We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Especially the sauna with the beautiful view of the lake. And the fireplace and fire wood. The Welcome center is necessary in order to obtain a parking pass as it is a gated community as are most communities in the Poconos. The good thing about a Gated Community is that only owner's and guests are allowed in the community so it is never crowded. As you mentioned the house was as advertised. With all the pictures we provide including a walk through video I am surprised you said the house was only three stars if it wasn't for the sauna. Our home is a cozy cabin on a lake with every amenity we can think of. We have updated all our appliances within the last ten years with the exception of the dishwasher. With a fridge and toaster oven added this fall. We have excellent Wifi. If anything wasn't working, I wish that you would have notified us immediately. We received an email from you the day after you arrived that the house “Was great” but that you had left. You said that the old women next door reprimanded you because your dog ran in her yard and then stared out the window which made you uncomfortable. Our video shows there are no windows on her house facing our house. We’ve had the house 13 years and have only seen her a handful of times. She’s elderly and uses a walker. We love sharing our home with dog owners. That being said, it is Imperative that our guests respect the neighbors and not allow their dogs to roam freely into the neighbor’s yard. We normally reply to emails very quickly, but did not prioritize your email since you had already left. You emailed us that it wasn’t our fault but still left us a two star review.
