"I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. "Very nice little room with everything we needed for one night's stay. The Manager was really helpful, including giving us a lift to the wedding evening do which was really appreciated. We were also offered a free breakfast which was a great touch. Its a lovely country pub with rooms. Woukd definitely return."

"1) Checkin details were not provided - I had to contact Hotels.com and wait ±1hr outside in the windy street to get these. Checkin was 4pm but I couldnt get in until 90 mins later. 2) Once inside the building; Entrance hall filthy with full black bags in corner, wall staining, filthy carpets, laundry cages strewn. No-one around at all, felt very unsafe. 3) Once inside the flat, it felt like someone had just left in a rush, but I couldnt be sure until I had gone through the apartment. Spooky....
