"Great place to stay for Forest Live. Hotel is lovely, warm and welcoming. It was a warm day so quite hot inside but we spent time outside in the huge gardens, the bar was open and we sat next to the river. Breakfast was superb, fresh fruit and proper butchers sausages! Would definitely stay again."

Overall the property has seen better days, I guess this is reflected in a lower than average room price for the area. "The Guinness Arms had character rooms and the hallway was just as nice. Our room had aircon and also a skylight which had retractable blinds if you wanted to look at the sky or not. Room was clean and cosy with coffee and tea facilities. A bottle of water was also supplied with a selection of biscuits. Iron and board in cupboard for those who want to sort the creases out. "Arrived to find the place locked up and had to make a phone call for someone to come to the pub to give us our room key. Apparently there was a problem of having no electricity due to the heat. No evening meal available and no bar; breakfast was average, with some folk having to wait a long time for service. The place was clean and room was comfortable."

Stayed in many of the rooms, ate, drank, was merry, and also shared the disappointment of an English World Cup semi final in their beer garden. Apart from the Willow Tree Birds having a fondness for pooping on my car, and the odd thing not replenished by housekeeping at times, my stays have been nothing short of fantastic.
