"Very peaceful, lovely private garden patios with a stream running past and lots of bird song. Inside, the cottage is equally serene and well thought out, with lots of windows, plentiful hooks in the bathroom and a great walk in shower, as well as a clean and spacious kitchen and living room. And the location is perfect, with easy access to all the hiking trails and castles. We loved our stay in this cottage. Perfect!"

"A very pleasant surprise as a solo guest. Needed an overnight stay for an event in Abergavenny, went with no expectations, just needed a comfortable, clean place and that's what I got. Yes the place needs a bit of tidying up, decorating, updating of furniture but that doesn't bother me as long as everything works for it's purpose which it did. "We had a good stay at the Sloop Inn. Lovely friendly staff. The best breakfast. The property is a little dated, and the bed isn't the most comfortable, but it was all good for a one-night stay. Would recommend."

"Great location for the waterfalls, the rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. There is a nice restaurant attached to the Hotel drinks are expensive but the food is reasonable, not the quickest service but if you are not in a rush it's fine. The bath could do with updating and a plug in the sink didn't fit well (put a flannel round plug fitted ok) Having a lot of work done to the front which will be nice when finished."

"The checking was easy & staff were friendly, The room is up 2 flights of stairs, it is very dated & could do with some tlc. The walls had splatter & marks where something had run down them & the bathroom was dirty in the corner. We couldn't get any hot water from the taps so used the kettle which didn't turn itself off. "Great place to stay. The staff were really friendly, the room was bright, spacious, super clean and all the amenities needed for an overnight stay. We ate dinner and breakfast both meal times provided a great choice and tasted great. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the area"

"The room was good in size and decor , garden room suite. We were on the ground floor the room above us you could hear everything even the person snoring , the floor must have been floorboards and we could hear everything, This woke us up and continued throughout the morning!"
