  • Your own private adults-only retreat with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge mountains and 3 miles of walking/nature trails. Open floor plan with fully equipped kitchen, and a welcome breakfast. King bed, comfortable living area, dining room, walk-in shower, satellite TV and free WIFI. Large patio area, gas grill, an outdoor fire pit, and a pond for fishing. Perfect for star-gazers, bird watchers and nature lovers.
    Location is ideally situated between Bedford and Roanoke Virginia. Close to the D-Day Memorial, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Smith Mountain Lake.
    Dogs are welcome with owner’s permission.

Very impressed with the clean cabin. There was a lot of attention to details and supplies, i.e. shampoo, toothbrushes, robes, paper products, and kitchen supplies. And pet friendly, which was very important to us!

This cabin was perfectly comfortable! Fresh, clean, well equipped, serene, and cared for by such thoughtful hosts. Dog friendly was a huge bonus for us and our pups loved it, also! With the hiking trails and pond on property, you never have to leave. We will definitely come back to this little slice of heaven!

Excellent location and cabin

We love staying here. The cabin is exceptionally clean which is very important to us. The location is excellent with easy access to Roanoke, Bedford, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is well stocked, so that when guests arrive they are free with much of what they need for their stay.

Wonderful hideaway

This is a wonderful get away. We stayed for our anniversary and loved the property. We really appreciated all the extra little touches and that we could bring our dog. We will definitely be back!

The property and cabin are amazing. It is extremely peaceful and has plenty to do. The owners are very nice and they keep it spotless. We are definitely coming back again soon

This is one of the best VRBOs we have ever stayed at...the location was great for our needs, the cabin was very clean and cozy, they have all the amenities for staying in to grill and chill! Lovely views of the vineyards with mountains in the background, beautiful walking trails, a fishing pond stocked with plenty of bass and bream. The best part about it all is that you're completely secluded and surrounded by nature. We will definitely be back!

Amazing place.....

This was our second stay at Shady Grove and we just love it, th views are perfect, we took out dogs and they loved it they got to run and frolick......the cabin is great everything you need is there.....we wanna make this a yearly trip Melissa and Phyllis are amazing and the vineyard is stunning.........

Our stay was perfect. The cabin was extremely comfortable and had all the comforts of home with a wonderful view of mountains and vineyards. The owner was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back

Great cabin.

Me my wife and our 2 dogs went to get some rest away from fireworks and this place did not disappoint. It is exactly the way it states and the owners do go way above expectations to make you feel welcome. If you want to get away and get some quite time this is the place to go. We would definitely stay again.

We had an amazing stay at this country cabin on the 10-acre farm. The natural beauty surrounding us was truly breathtaking-the vineyards were gorgeous and we lucky enough to see deer every day, along with wild turkeys roaming the property. Our host, Melissa went above and beyond, kindly stocking the cabin with food until we got our own groceries. The property itself is so relaxing, especially if you are traveling with a pet. There are several hiking trails that wind through the woods, making it the perfect place for a dog to run off leash and explore safely. Peaceful, scenic and welcoming, this cabin exceeded our expectations. We cannot recommend staying here enough!
