The Henry Scott Riddell Monument. It had been an overcast day but while travelling on the A7 towards Hawick, the sun came out for a few minutes and highlighted the monument on Dryden Knowes at Teviothead, against a heavy sky. The 13m high cairn was erected in 1874 in memory of the poet Henry Scott Riddell. For a closer view of the monument and inscription details, see 378497.

We had a great stay here,the location is amazing,very quiet,with beautiful view of the hills and the little river behind the house.The host was very kind,she made the Christmas tree for us,left lots of chocolates for the kids and cakes.The house was very clean and cosy.
