What a wonderful place to stay! It’s a beautiful building with an amazing garden over several levels, and lots of different places you might want to relax in. (It even comes with its own little cave!) The views from the garden down to Las Palmas and the sea are amazing, and are even better from the roof terrace, which has a 360 view of that and the mountains in the other direction. Very pleasant inside too, with everything you could need, and we had a very hospitable and friendly welcome from the hosts. The location is excellent. You can reach any point on Gran Canaria as a day trip, and it’s particularly handy for the mountainous interior, which in my opinion is the most interesting and beautiful part of the island. Nearby Teror is arguably the prettiest town in GC, and has a lively market. We had an excellent stay here, and would heartily recommend it. TIP: On arrival, follow the hosts’ directions carefully and stay on the main road going up from Arucas via Visvique (GC-43). Don’t – as we did first time – let the satnav send you on “shortcuts” through lots of narrow village streets.

Gut eingerichtetes Haus mit einem großen Garten

Das Haus ist geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet, was man zum Leben braucht: von Mikrowelle bis Waschmaschine und Trockner (den ich für überflüssig hielt, bis ich an einem regnerischen Wintertag frische Handtücher haben wollte). Es gibt reichlich Geschirr, so dass man den Geschirrspüler ökologisch vernünftig einsetzen kann, viel Ablageplatz im Badezimmer, einen großen Kühlschrank mit Tiefkühlhälfte und großen, gepflegten Garten, der das Haus zum idealen Aufenthaltsort für Familien mit Kindern macht. Darüber hinaus einen verfressenen und verschmusten Kater, der nie genug Streicheleinheiten hat. Der Check in war problemlos und sehr gut erklärt. Besonders erwähnenswert ist die Aufmerksamkeit, mit der die Vermieterin, Josefa, uns etwas frisches zum Essen bereit gestellt hat, Brot, Butter, Käse, Wein und Obst, da wir sehr spät an einem hohen Feiertag kamen. Auch haben wir gerne in den zahlreichen Büchern über Kanarische Fauna und Flora geblättert.

Beautiful House and Garden

This is a very spacious and well-kept garden with lots of interesting plants. The outdoor kitchen is well equiped and has a breathtaking view over the valley. From the terrace outside of the kitchen you can view as far as Las Palmas and the sea. The property is located on a ridge with very nice views in all directions. La Peña is definitively located in the most beautiful part of Gran Canaria. Pepa and José (the owners) are very friendly and responsive.

We had a wonderful time at the house and garden in the mountains

We had a wonderful time at Pepas and Joses garden and house in the mountains. We spent it as a family of two adults and two children (8 and 10 years). The hosts are very friendly and helpful, providing tips what to see, regarding the weather, helpful insights, etc. The house is lovely, cozy and especially well-suited for vacationing with children. The rooms had everything that one can imagine. There are even beach utensils (beach umbrellas and chairs) and the kitchen is also very well equipped. If it should get hot, there is the possibility to switch on air conditioning. Also, the house is built in a way to not heat up too much during the day, and there is often a cool ocan breeze in the mountains. The garden is a spacious highlight, especially the cave and the collection of endemic plants. There is also a very cuddly and sweet cat, who likes to be around humans and followed us everywhere I went. The children were in charge of feeding him and are now missing him a lot. We were at a time were we could also enjoy some garden fruits, such as lemons, a few grapes, tomatos, aubergines, onions and cucumbers... For those who need it, there is wifi, both in the cave and the house. From the garden and roof, there is a beautiful view. We can highly recommend the stay! During the time of our stay, there are a few dogs in the neighborhood, who were howling at night. Sometimes the cat joined in, as if to say: "Shut up!". We all slept well, nevertheless and were rather entertained.

Ruhig gelegenes Haus mit tollem Rundumblick

Das Haus entsprach genau der Beschreibung und ist mit allem Notwendigen reichlich ausgestattet. Pepa hatte uns angeboten schonmal für uns einen Grundeinkauf zu machen, war jedoch nicht nötig da wir um die Mittagszeit angekommen sind und den Einkauf auf der Fahrt zum Haus erledigt konnten. Das Highlight des Hauses ist die große Dachterrasse auf der wir viele Sonnenstunden verbracht haben. Der Garten ist auf mehreren Terrassen angelegt und erfordert etwas "Kletterarbeit". Wir waren Ende Febr. bis Anfang März in dem Haus und hatten in den ersten Tagen auf dem Berg wechselhaft regnerisches Wetter, wenn man jedoch an den Strand fuhr war etwas meist sonnig und warm. Pepa ist eine gute Gastgeberin, sie erkundigte sich mehrmals ob alles i.O. wäre und war jederzeit erreichbar.

Belle maison avec jardin, idéalle pour visiter l’île - nice place to visit the island

Nous avons passé deux semaines très agréables dans la maison, qui est bien située pour visiter le nord et le centre de Gran Canaria. Les plages du sud sont rapidement accessibles en 1h de voiture. La maison est bien équipée et contient tout ce dont on peut avoir besoin. Le grand jardin en terrasses est très appréciable. On peut en profiter lorsque le temps le permet. Enfin, Pepa offre un accueil sympa et donne toutes les informations utiles. Excellent endroit pour passer des vacances !

Even better in reality, planning our next stay already!

Pepa and Jose's house close to Teror is a beautiful place to stay. We very much enjoyed our 4-week-long stay and would gladly come back. The pictures don’t even do justice to the beautiful garden and is missing one of the great advantages of the house – the big rooftop terrace with a 360° view of mountains, the sea and sun all day. The location is quite remote, thus quite and perfect to calm down and relax. Pepa was a very warm and helpful host, the contact was easy and fast. She gave us a lot of tips and information, such as great restaurants in close proximity. We're looking forward to our next stay!

Schönes Haus mit wunderbarem Garten.

Das Haus ist wirklich mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet. Pepa ist eine hervorragende Gastgeberin und per WhatsApp immer zu erreichen. Da wir Sonntags ankamen hatte Pepa uns bereits das Nötigste eingekauft. Das Grundstück liegt auf einem Bergrücken, und man hat Sicht nach Nord und Süden. Der Garten ist wunderschön mit mehreren Terrassen und eigenem Gartenhaus. Der Garten wird von einem "Schmusekater" bewohnt, der aber auch jede Gelegenheit nutzt in das Haus zu kommen. :-) Zwei kleine Mankos: 1. Zufahrt ist etwas eng. 2. Im Ort darunter sind sehr viele Hunde die sich abends sehr laut "unterhalten" Wir waren Anfang Dezember im Haus. Leider war das Wetter sehr unstabil und es hat häufig geregnet. Ansonsten können wir das Haus zu 100% empfehlen. mit freundlichen Grüßen Petra und Uwe

Urlaub in Teror

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub in Pepas Haus. Wir waren mit unseren drei Kindern in Pepas Haus und es ist uns nie langweilig geworden. Pepa ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin, die sich in sehr angenehmer Weise um uns gekümmert hat. In dem Haus ist alles vorhanden. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Der Garten ist sehr groß. Es gibt viele Dinge zu erkunden und zu erleben. Der Blick aufs Meer ist traumhaft. Auf dem Grundstück lebt ein wundervoller Kater, den wir alle sehr ins Herz geschlossen haben, der Abschied viel unserer jüngsten Tochter sehr schwer. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit in eurem Haus.

A great month on a beautiful island

We spent a full month in this beautiful house in La Peña. The location and views are just stunning, either from the roof, the terrace or the generous garden and cueva. There are plenty of interesting things to discover close to the house. The house and cueva are well equipped for cooking and and barbecuing and the big fridge and dishwasher made life easy, just as having access to the washing machine and dryer. Our hosts were fantastic and gave us a very warm welcome. Pepa took a lot of care to explain everything to us, was always fun to reach out to and made sure that we were happy during our stay. You can definitely see all the hard work and love that Pepa and Jose put into making this place what it is and giving it a personal touch. We happily took care of Gato the cat while we were there and tried to keep an eye on the garden. Lucky for us it rained every week so we didn’t have to water the whole garden, it’s quite a project, instead we just had the pleasure of watching everything grow and blossom and pick and enjoy the fruit. For everything else there is a very well stocked supermarket close by or lots of good options for food shopping in Teror. The big supermarkets are a bit of a drive, but we always managed to go past one on one of our excursions. It’s worth going to the great markets in Teror and other villages in the north of the island. I would definitely recommend having a car, even though driving in the mountains can be quite special, but the locals drive quite respectfully. Teror is a good location for trips into the mountains, and it’s still close enough to Las Palmas and the island autopista. We stayed in February/March and the weather definitely was mixed, but this was expected. For that time of the year there are spots with more stable weather on the island, but we preferred a location that fitted our needs over weather. Staying further to the inside of the island comes with the need for more driving, staying on the south coast comes with more sunshine but mass tourism and less green. We very much recommend La Peña, just as everyone else who stayed there!

Wunderschöne Oase der Gemütlichkeit

Wir haben zu viert mit einem 5-jährigen und einem 2-jährigen Kind drei wunderbare Wochen in "La Peña" verbracht. Aufgrund der Pandemie-Situation konnten wir Pepa und ihren Mann leider nicht persönlich kennen lernen, aber mit zahlreichen Erklär-Videos und vielen hilfreichen Tipps war sie jederzeit für uns da. Haus und Garten sind hervorragend ausgestattet, liebevoll eingerichtet bzw. angelegt und sehr gemütlich. Selbst an den drei Tagen, die wir wegen eines Unwetters keinen Ausflug machen konnten, wurde Erwachsenen und Kindern nie langweilig. Die Aussicht bis nach Las Palmas ist traumhaft. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Good, better... Pepa

The house, the garden, the nature around the house, the view about the mountains and Las Palmas, the service and the lovely Pepa was very perfect. The house was very clean and there is all what you need. The garden is so beautiful and full of nice thinks to do and to relax. The children (2 and 6 years old) are so afraid about the kids house and the lovely cats. It is perfect with children there, because they can run all the time in the garden, there is a fence around the garden. We love it so much to stay in the house. Pepa was all the time reachable for helps and good tips. Thank you for the beautiful time there.

The owners of this house are lovely and maintain the house and garden so well. They have created a home with a marvellous terraced garden with plenty of mature trees and bird life. The garden is host to a cabin for children to play in, with lots of games and bunk beds, the table tennis was a great addition to our days and then, The Cave ..... an amazing part of the holiday. This house has everything you need and more.

Compleet en rustig gelegen vakantiehuis

Huis is fraai gelegen in rustig gebied (binnenland). 30 min vanaf vliegveld en best een flinke rit de berg op. Prachtig uitzicht vanaf dakterras en zeer fraaie tuin. Huis is compleet en schoon. Gastvrouw is attent en stuurt reisinfo en tips per app. Vanuit vakantiehuis prima dagtrips te doen. Heerlijk verblijf gehad.

Da schon letztes Jahr uns die Casa La Peña so gut gefiel, die Vermieter sehr herzlich und Aufmerksam sind, die Ausgangslage bestens für Ausflüge und Wanderungen geeignet, sind wir auch diesmal wieder super zufrieden. Es wird wohl nicht das letzte mal sein.

Originelle, sehr schöne Unterkunft

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Umgebung ist sehr schön. Der Garten lädt zum Verweilen ein (mit Liebe angelegt). Schnelle Anbindung an die Autobahn (ca. 20 Minuten). Unser Lieblingsstrand (Melenara) konnte in ca. 40 Autominuten erreicht werden. Im Herbst kann es wolkig sein. Das Haus ist auch bei solcher Witterung sehr gemütlich, da es beheizbar ist. Leider hatten wir zu unserer Zeit mehrere Hunde in der Nachbarschaft, die uns mit ihrem Heulkonzert des öfteren "berieselt" haben.

We had some amazing weeks at this beautiful place on earth. Pepa and Jose are fantastisc hosts, everything was lovely prepared and we didn't miss anything. The house breathes personality and love and so does the garden. We enjoyed preparing food outside and having dinner in the cave. Almost every day we discovered something new in the large garden. You can hear and watch birds, follow the transformation of monarch butterflies and we could try very tasty fruits and vegetables from the garden. Everything was even better than we expected. The views over the mountains, the villages and the skyline of Las Palmas at night are stunning! Nearby you find a local supermarket and in 10 minutues by car you are in beautiful Teror. La Peña is a great spot from where you can easily discover the island. Pepa always provided us with ideas of what could be interesting and fun to see, the contact was warm, friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for a really great time, we would love to be your guests again. (And we do already miss Gato, Bola & Luna!) Warm greetings from Stockholm 💖

Haus mit riesigem Garten und 360° Ausblick

Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und steht in einem großen schön angelegtem Garten. Auf der Dachterasse hat man einen 360 Grad Ausblick auf die Küste mit Las Palmas und die umliegenden Berge. Teror ist eine sehr schöne Stadt. Von hier aus kann man die andere Bergdörfer gut erreichen. Ein Auto sollte vorhanden sein. Jose und Pepa sind die perfekten Gastgeber. Bei der Ankunft standen bereits Lebensmittel für einen Snak bereit. Pepa hat uns immer wieder mit Tipps für die Umgebung versorgt. Das Haus ist die ideale Urlaubsunterkunft für Naturliebhaber, die Ruhe und Entspannung suchen. Muchas gracias Pepa y Jose. Helga und Andreas
