Perfect Big Bend Get-Away.

We wanted to have a full Big Bend experience. After doing research online, I went with this location. The videos on their website sold me. We could see the Chiscos mountains from our patio. It was designed to help block the winds at night. We sat under the stars by our fire and just soaked it up. The bed and pillows were comfy, and we felt like we were really in the middle of nowhere...perfect. The hosts were easy to communicate with and the stay was everything we wanted.

Beautiful View

House and space were as described. Great views towards Big Bend National Park. Rough road, but totally manageable. Good communication from hosts; very responsive to questions I had before arrival.

Unbelievable!

The location of this property is absolutely amazing! We've never experienced such sweet silence. The property itself is perfectly appointed. The views are spectacular! The huge picture windows are excellent for this space. (We never pulled the shades down.) The King bed is so comfortable and to wake up to those views! We'll never forget it. Every morning we enjoyed breakfast on the lovely patio. The fire pit and the Adirondack chairs are so sweet for chilling at the end of a long day of hiking. Then as the fire burns down, the amazing night sky begins to light up. The home itself has everything you need to enjoy your time. We loved this Container home!! The only thing I'd add would be a lounge chair or a hammock :) One small warning, the 1 1/2 mile road up and around to this home is very rocky. A pick up truck or jeep type vehicle will have no problem. Any other car will have to take it very slowly. But the drive out there is worth it!! I promise!! My husband and I highly recommend the Mariscal at Fossil Knob Ridge! You will not be disappointed!! Thank you Daryl and Janet :)

Great views and a cozy setting!

Secluded, beautiful, amazing nighttime sky, cozy and accommodating. About 15 minutes from the entrance to Big Bend NP. So happy we chose this couples VRBO. Thank you!

Quiet and Peaceful

We had a great stay at the Mariscal house at Fossil Knob Ridge. Secluded, peaceful and quiet. The property is 100% as advertised. Don't let the rough road on the way in fool you...this is a hidden gem.

Beautiful!

This place was amazing!!! The container home felt like a big house, and the views from every room were gorgeous! If we weren’t out hiking, we were sitting on the porch enjoying the views and peace and quiet! The house had everything we needed, I just did not think about it not having a stove, so we cooked the pizza I brought on the bbq pit! We will be back!

Perfect!

This is my 5th year coming to Big Bend. Every year I stay somewhere new, and I just say this was by far my favorite place. The location was great, and the views from the front porch/bedroom are hard to beat. I can’t wait to come back.

Big Bend Relaxing

The property was perfect for relaxing and recovering after a full day in Big Bend. The space was luxurious enough but also out of the way so that you felt like the only people around. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful views!

My husband and I enjoyed staying here during our visit to Big Bend National Park. The views are amazing! Convenient spot to get to the park. Sunrise and sunset are FABULOUS! Nice and clean and comfortable. Road in and out is very rough and a high clearance vehicle is required.

The house is wonderful. The condition of the dirt and rock road to get to it was not adequately disclosed. Very poor condition. Not maintained at all. Trying to get up and down that road every day with my rental SUV was misersble. I just would have thought that the condition of that road would have been more honestly conveyed. Very disappointed with that.

Comforting Getaway

It can be difficult to find a place to stay in Terlingua with updated amenities, an almost full kitchen, breathtaking views, options for a campfire, and so much privacy. This place offered such a comfortable, nice place to stay after rough and tiring days driving, hiking on the trail, or canoeing on the river. The shipping container was such a wonderful refuge, and it was such a joy to be here to just enjoy nature in a homey environment. The next time we stay in Terlingua, we will definitely be seeking Fossil Knob Ridge. We may bring a car with sturdier tires for the treacherous drive up, though.

Stay Here!

This property was absolutely breathtaking! It was cozy and comfy! Everything was ultimately there, we just brought the food! Be sure to bring a jeep or truck with 4x4 as the road to get to the property was rough! Would definitely recommend, and would stay here again! Daryl was fast to respond to questions and was pleasant to deal with! Close to the starlight theater!
