My wife and I enjoyed sitting outside in the evening watching the stars. The cantina was well stocked and we prepared and cooked several meals there so we could enjoy the desert.

Our host was extremely accommodating. She helped us from a remote when we could not access our cabin. The view was incredible. The shared kitchen was cleanand warm and located near our cabin. Our cabin was large and beautiful and the gas log fireplace kept us cozy.

The cabin and location were awesome. Didn't need for anything. The Cantina was very clean and the other campers were very friendly and helpful. Would love to come again and enjoy the breathtaking views !!! Thank you,The Harpers

The property is arranged like a an old time western town with a few fun twists. we only spent 2 nights here, but we would definitely stay here again. We used this property as a jumping off point for Big Bend National Park which is only about 20 minutes away. Loved the views off the back of our cabin which was schoolhouse #2. Disnt get a chance to explore the property much at all but are looking forward to it on our next visit. Great bed and plenty of room...shower is a little old but didnt bother us at all...great towels and decent amenities.

The cabin was really nicely decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with necessities, had fridges for guests' food and also areas with donated food from previous guests

Loved it! Amazing night sky and able to walk around the area. Great cantina for cooking as restaurants are 20-40 min away. The 2 mile road to get there is the only downfall as it’s just caliche rock but -if no rain- a medium size car and small suv will be fine. But that 2 miles off the main road contributes to the isolation and beautiful sky.

We loved the location, and the cantina was well stocked. I did not find the waffles until too late because the signs for them were on the other fridges. The doorknob on Schoolhouse #2 was loose, and the lock harder to use than these locks normally are, Sometimes it auto-locked so fast you could not enter, and sometimes it didn’t lock. Luckily a neighbor told us that tapping the word Schlage functions as a lock. This property is managed remotely.

The place was amazing, surrounded by mountains, very quiet and we got to see lots of stars and the Milky way. The little chalet we stayed was confortable and quaint. The road to acces the place was the only things I didn't like, probably because we had a flat tire, but two samaritans came to our rescue, Valente and Vladimir, very greatful, specially because of the heat. We were free to use a really nice kitchen, fully equipped, were we cooked the food we brought.

Two miles down an unpaved road but an interesting property. No room hair dryer or potable water in the room. Six water bottles were provided because the tap water wasn’t potable.

First Year Anniversary Stay

Out of all of the places around here that you can stay this place, we believe, was the shining star. It’s private, you get your own patio to stare at the gorgeous landscape around you. Views are spectacular, cleanliness and comfort are top notch. We already agreed if we make this trip back here, we will only stay here.

adequate & comfy

The schoolhouse building was just enough for a quick trip to Big Bend National Park. No frills, but adequate housing with a comfy bed to rest your head at night. The outdoor porches were nice with beautiful rocky surroundings! Definitely would have used the firepit if there wasn't a burn ban in effect. Super easy check-in and check-out. Wish we were a little closer to the park to save commuting time.
