Wonderful stay! It's like staying in someone's lovely ranch home. The garden suite was spacious and the bed was very comfortable- best shower in Europe! The relaxing vibe and out of the way location made for an ideal Algarve experience.

A very well located boutuque holovely tel in lovely grounds just 25 minute drive from Faro airport. Helpful, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Lovely pool, great breakfast. Super room wuth great shower. Will definitely stay again

The accommodations were superb and the staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast and fresh squeezed orange juice was a perfect start to the day and the grounds were lovely and the pool refreshing. This spot made the perfect location for exploring not only Tavira but the surrounding towns in the Algarve region.

Beautiful rooms and lovely location but this place is crying out for a proper, visible hotel manager. It feels like the hotel has lost its manager as the venue seems to lack direction, was quite grubby in places (mildew around the pool, randomly stacked cheap plastic chairs that didn’t need to be there, structures in the parking area falling down). The chef must have left too, our evening meal was extremely poor. Fazenda Nova could be absolutely lovely but seems to be in a period of decline at the moment. Little things like help with your luggage (it’s a very long walk from the carpark), welcoming service at the bar etc. would really change the mood of the hotel. The staff there are very pleasant but lack the proactivity and passion one would associate with a boutique hotel of this price.

A pleasant stay at the Fazenda Nova

We spent 3 nights at Fazenda Nova travelling as a same-sex couple. The property is located in the mountains around 15 minutes drive from a range of seaside towns with restaurants and beaches. The hotel was clean and comfortable with a nice pool and grounds. The room was large with good AC and had a completely private sizable outside garden terrace. We ate dinner one night at the hotel and it was very tasty and good value for money. A special thank you to Dipendra who was so hard-working throughout our stay and very helpful! The only improvements to the hotel we would suggest would be to add a fridge to the bedrooms and to provide free water to guests. The breakfast each day was tasty but fairly limited. (Eggs could be added for an additional charge which seemed a bit cheap given the cost of the rooms!)

It is a very beautiful fazenda and a great region. Close to Olhao and Tavira and the beaches. The house and the rooms are beautifully furnished and have all the things one needs to be comfortable. The service is not there yet (or not anymore as it changed the owner). The breakfast is quit poor and has no variety and there is extra charge for the eggs, pancakes and so on. I never experienced that in Portugal. The pool area is nice but needs some work as well as the parking lot on which the structure seems to fall apart. We had to explain how to make proper coffee (with a god machine) and the promised sandwiches because of an early flight time were not provided. The permise is quit dark and there are no lights guiding the way in the night. We gave the manager feedback. He took it seriously and explained that there are actions ongoing to improve. I hope that works out.

Poor service and terrible food

The hotel is beautiful and well kept. The room was clean, decorated nicely and matched the photos. The pool was a bit grubby on day 1 but was cleaned during our stay and is a eco-pool so is expected to be not chlorinated-clean. The food on our first evening meal was horrendous - inedible. Nothing like any photos I had seen prior on trip advisor or their instagram. The breakfast each morning was very average.we had to ask for bread one day despite being given ham and cheese and had to ask for butter and jam. There was a menu of extra things like pancakes and omelettes that could be paid for but none of this was offered. We complained about the food and nobody spoke to us about it. We messaged a manager and they admitted it was them cooking and not a chef - why not tell us there was no chef so we could have eaten elsewhere? They were going to charge us full price for a meal cooked by a manager?! The staff spent most of their time on their phones when visible or were no where to be seen. There was a bar but often nobody there to get you a drink and the gas was off so no draft beer. The staff were polite when spoken to but clearly had no interest in their jobs. I would describe the place more as nice rooms and a nice pool area but not a hotel. The service and lack of edible food was really disappointing and not worth the price at all. It doesn’t appear this place is still the same place that won all the awards on display!

We had an amazing stay at the Fazenda Nova. The house is surrounded by multi-acre property, with beautiful landscaped gardens, and fruit and olive groves. There are pools set in the garden, and numerous well-designed walking paths and rest areas under the trees. The main house itself and the guest quarters are built according to a well-thought-through designer architectural plan, with a clever mix of traditional and modern style features. Everything is of high quality and reliable - from the furniture to fixtures and dinnerware. All the employees are very nice, healthful, and kind. And the breakfast was amazing. One of the top two we had on this month-long trip, and the only one comparable to this one was at a historic pousada. Fruit and vegetables they serve are from their garden. My wife asked for mint tea, and to our pleasant surprise the mint was fresh from the garden. I am sure this property if not easy to book in the high season, but in December the price was very reasonable. In sum, we are looking forward to staying here again next year.

Un hôtel exceptionnel

Lieu exceptionnel, un véritable havre de paix a taille humaine dans un cadre somptueux, entouré d'oliviers et décoré avec soin. Le personnel est très accueillant et serviable, la piscine et le grand jardin sont très agréables. Un lieu idéal pour se relaxer, profiter du soleil et prendre du temps pour soi Une voiture est toutefois nécessaire pour tous les déplacements hors de l'hôtel.

Stylish, friendly and relaxing. Lots of lovely spots to sit, especially loved the ‘beach’ area. Lovely food, really well cooked. So much beautiful coastline to visit, if you can bear to leave.
