Buena estadia
Buena estadia. Unico inconveniente fue que se escuchaba todo de las habitaciones contiguas. Por suerte nuestros vecinos no fueron tan ruidosos. Muy buenas habitaciones y muy bien equipadas. TV LED gigante!! Cocina totalmente equipada. Cama super comoda y habitacion muy limpia!

Cheap & cheerful
Friendly hosgt couldn't have been more accommodating. Clean,tidy room, relatively quiet for a hostel-type place. Would recommend for those seeking a good room at a bargain price.

Not maintained
Was our last minute booking but was disappointed by the service n with the overall room. Not enough towels provided, n the ones available were not clean. The wash room was dirty as if had not been cleaned for months. There were cobwebs in the room as well as in the bathroom. I have gone for even cheaper accommodation once but the the facilities were much better. I would not recommend anyone for this hotel.

Good location with ok facilities.
Good location, close to city centre but not in it. Hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. Room and shared bathroom was clean and generally well prepared. Walls were very thin which was awkward as everything could be heard, and staff's children were free to wander down the hall. Nice Tv in room that didn't work and there was a hole in the wall.

We didn’t stay the night
Upon arrival the foyer was dark and dingy. We had to carry our bags up the stairs to our room, there’s a smell of mold/damp in the air and the room was cramped. Light fixtures were dark and dirty, the bath mat was stinky of mould. Their was a window in our room door so people could see in and someone walked in while we were in the room, which tells us the door mustn’t be self locking or the keys are all the same. When I checked the bed to see if it was clean I noticed a mark under the sheet, when I pulled back the bottom sheet I saw blood & fluid stains on the mattress protector and marks on the mattress underneath. There was also no air conditioner, so without any proper airflow the room was very hot. We decided not to stay at the night and booked accomodation elsewhere. When I checked out the manager just smiled awkwardly not offering a reimbursement or alternate room, a brief apology was all he said. When I saw the reviews I regret not having read any prior to booking, had I done so, I would never have booked here. For $150 per night, this place was so overpriced.

Horrible place
The rooms were very dirty, there was such a strong cigaret smell in the room, also the Person form room 13 was making loud constantly being on the phone and listening to music. We couldn't get any sleep it was horrible.

Confused staff tried to scam us twice
It all started on the day prior to our stay on the 8th of December. The motel owner called us whilst we were in a low/no cellphone coverage area, this meant that we only got the call a couple of hours later. In his call he claimed that we had booked the room from the 8th till the 9th of December, when in fact we had booked it for the 9th till the 10th. We had to pull up our booking and prove it to them that we were right in order to get our room back. Once we got to the Motel, and headed up to our room we found out that the room had a shared bathroom when we specifically booked a room with a PRIVATE bathroom. The room was also reeking of cigarettes. Frustrated at the way we had been treated the obvious course of action was to demand our money back which we did not fully receive. We will never ever be coming back and advice others to avoid this motel at any cost. The people here will try to scam you for your money.

Shabby and very smelly
The hotel is very delapidated and smells bad. The building should just be demolished. The staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful.

Worst place ever
This is a back packers accommodations trying to pretend to be a motel. Booked 2 nights but on arrival... HATED the place, room was awful. Fridge didn't work, owners didn't care, no remote for TV. No towels provided again owner didn't care. Spent 45 minutes on phone with expedia who were amazing in supporting us to get a refund on second night as owner was unwilling to be helpful. I would never stay here again even if it was free. The smell of urine in the corridor was over powering.. advertise on front sign of spa. It was not working in a room just big enough to fit it and was filled with junk... this place is the pits !!! Dirty, not as described and poor management by the actual owners .... if could give a minus rating I would.... BAD BAD BAD!!!

We had the family ensuite room with a view, which was pleasant. The beds were comfortable. However the space was a little cramped for two adults and two children and the wifi didn't work. Ok for one night cheap accomodation but that's it

Worse decision ever
I would not recommend staying here at all. Foyer smelt like urine, didnt have any knowledge of us staying. Had to go through every room to find a empty one for us even walked in on someone. Found a room white stains on ground. Wasn't explained to how bathroom doors connecting 2 rooms worked so wasnt secure. Bed looked slept in and attendants children were running around in bedrooms. Bedroom had strange smell to it. Tried to get a refund but couldn't claimed to need account number as didn't carry cash.

Don't even consider
Totally misrepresented. It's a purpose built hostel that's badly run down, dirty including the grounds.They lock the place at 8.30pm. No way in or out but through the shared and dirty kitchen and past the rubbish bins. We paid $198.00 for two rooms, moved to the Lakeland for $240.00 for the balance of our stay. Great place, great service, food, etc.

Awesome getaway
Awesome stay, we checked in late (10pm) and we were still greeted with a big smile. Reception was extremely helpful and the rooms were great. Really comfortable and enjoyed the stay.

Cheap and clean
The hotel is cheap and clean. The shared bathroom situation was a surprise, but the manager was amazing and sorted it so I didn't have to share. The rooms are very basic and they don't provide towels unless you ask for them. The manager is amazing, though, and couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. In all, if you are after cheap and clean, this is the place.

This place needs to be shut down. We checked in was taken to our room and we were DISGUSTED! The bed was not made, the glasses provided to use were WET from being used, the bathroom floor was covered in water from a used shower, the toilet seat has poo on it and in general it was disgustinglu filthy (i have photos) not to mention the hotel in general was filthy with rubbish everywhere outside and inside. We had our child with us so we decided to not stay in filth and we demanded a refund!!!

Not worth the cheap price tag
Had to call a mobile when we arrived and left. Place was a shambles, room full of rubbish, no tea or coffee, one dirty glass and spoon, paper thin walls, the list goes on. Pillow was comfy tho!

This is the worst motel I have ever stayed at.
There were dishes on the bench, there was no dish-washing liquid, cloth or tea towel to be able to wash the dishes. The bed had terrible roll together, there was an extension lead across the floor to enable the TV to work, the blind in the kitchen was broken. Then we noticed that there was a large leak coming from the ceiling by one of the bedrooms. I brought this to the attention of the reception. He said that it hadn’t been like that before (I doubt this was the case as the paint was pealing and looked to have been leaking previously). He gave us $15 off a night and said we could cancel our booking if we wanted. But as it was Ironman weekend, there was nowhere else that had accommodation available. He assured us that he would give us clean towels to replace the ones we had to put down to mop up the water and said he would change the towels the next day. The next day two bath mats where put down which was nowhere near enough to cope with the leak. No replacement towels were provided. We were told that there were no other rooms available, however the next day the sign outside said ‘vacancy’. Just to add to it, we had no hot water the following day and all had to have cold showers. When I spoke to the staff again, he had an 'oh well' attitude. Unfortunately we had to pay on arrival and the small discount should have been a refund.

Fan broken they were reluctant to repair.(very hot day and night very small hot room fan needed) when pressured they supplied another fan but no base needed to leen against the wall and cover broken internal wiring exposed very dangerouse

Almost Nightmare Experience
First of all - rooms are too small, even bed was not full queen size bed. On the top of that it has shared toilet with adjacent room - its corridor was also too tight - Thank GOD i had booked it for only for one night.

Not Utopia - the unclean experience
We arrived late and reception was happy to check us in, which was much appreciated as it was midnight and we weren't charged extra for a late check-in however, there were major issues with the motel cleanliness and security. We found a cockroach on the kitchen table, the bathroom window lock was broken off the window completely, there was a broken curtain, the fridge and microwave stunk like they were never cleaned and the bed covers were not washed as they had stains on them! We did not sleep in the bedsheets. The whole room was set up felt like we were in sleeping in a hospital kitchen with Lino flooring and hospital doors! This was by far the nastiest place I have ever stayed in and I've stayed in some rank places. No cleaners were there when we checked out and no one at reeception. Not the best experience.

DO NOT STAY HERE
Not clean, bugs and dust everywhere! Reception and hallway roof is actually missing! Spent one hour in the 'family room' looking online for alternative accommodation as we were too scared to sleep on the beds, especially with 2 little ones. Staff rude, requested refund which took a conversation plus 4 phone calls and 7 days to finally retrieve.

shared bathroom is located between your room and one other and is only accessible through one of those two rooms. there is an electronic locking system to ensure privacy. this is much better than the norm of a shared bathroom being down the corridor

Motel prices but Youth Hostel accommodation
This motel was no better than a Youth Hostel except the price was ridiculous. The room was very small with next to no facilities. There was a kettle but no cups, 3 teabags for a 2 night stay and frozen little milk containers. There was a shared kitchen but it was quite tired looking. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Didn't feel safe
I wanted just a cheap room with a clean bed, quite happy with the idea of shared bathroom. But,,, the staff were at best disinterested there were carts parked in the hall with drinks on them it gave me a really bad feeling to the extent that I drove home to Auckland rather than stay in the place on my own. Would not recommend

You get what you pay for. $60 for a double room, is low cost, but the hotel is very tired. Staff were friendly and ok with my late arrival and the bed was comfortable. A leaky shower, broken light fitting and shared bathroom weren't expected, and it would have been a lot better with a good clean.

Cheap price for Taupo, but don't expect much!
The budget room is very very small! No cupboard and no space to even put anything. The stool was broken, the shower gel dispenser was also broken. The shared bathroom is like in your face, I could hear everything and one time even smell it!!! There is no soundproofing, so I did not get much sleep the first night! Also there was a lingering smell in the room. The green cushions looked very tacky and not inviting to sleep on. It is impossible to fill the jug with water. My toaster blew up the first morning, but I got a replacement for the second day! I'm glad I was just on my own, otherwise this would have been a disaster.... I've stayed in many much better backpackers!
