I was impressed with the cleanliness. The area was peaceful and also closer to the shops which was helpful. The rooms were spacious for small families. The beds were perfect as well.

While it was the cheapest option, I did expect more when considering the alternatives were just a small amount more, at a far more sought after location and equipped with significantly more modern facilities. Room was dirty - serviettes from previous occupants remained under the beds and there were plenty of spiders and cobwebs throughout the room. The communal toilets were not cleaned regularly and left soiled for the two days that i stayed there.

I think if you need somewhere to place your head for the night then great, but could do with a spruce up and a dodgy power point next to bed was concerning along with being a tall person I couldn’t fit under shower 😒

A small cabin at a very reasonable price. This suited my purpose for a night's stay to break my journey from Auckland to Wellington.

Staff were very friendly and happy to help with anything. Good knowledge of the local area. However, it was very easy to hear noise from other people staying in the rooms next door to ours.

I liked the communal kitchen area which serviced the cabins. The cabins were great value. The Motel was located on the edge of town, which was fine but bordered on a residential street so there was a little noise from the houses (particularly dogs for a short time). Wifi was great and everything was well maintained.Staff were freindly and helpful.

Loved it!
Situated in the middle of picturesque surroundings, this place gives you a much cheaper option than the rest. Tv in room, hot showers and a kitchen with everything you need. Great place, would definitely stay again!

Unfortunately room was dirty - food on floor from previous users. Cups and crockery had mold on them, this is an old building that smell's damp. Women's showers poor water pressure and no hot water available in the morning. Men's toilets very dirty had used toilet paper thrown across floor.

Clean, warm comfortable rooms. Close to town and my daughter absolutely loved the playground and resident animals. Lovely experience and will definitely be returning.

Very disappointing, chairs in the room were all broken, found underwear on floor in room, sheets were strained, toilet block - some toilets were cracked unfortunately I will not be recommending this place.

Not quite what we expected. We had to upgrade, spending an extra $100 to get a better room. The staff were accomodating and friendly but we wouldn’t stay here again.

Basic but comfortable - excellent backpackers stop
The hotel uses a shared toilet and shower block and the rooms are basic but offer all that is needed for a comfortable stop. We stayed the night on our way to Wellington and would happily stay again. This is more hostel than hotel so if you are happy with budget accommodation this will not disappoint

Fint läge men nedgånget och smutsigt.
Vi spenderade 2 dagar en natt i Taupo och bodde då på Camellia. Dessvärre är rummen rött små i jämförelse med alla andra ställe. Vi bott på här i NZ. Köket och det delade badrummet är skitigt. Känns som att ägarna inte riktigt orkar hålla upp nivån. Viss var ägarna snälla och vänliga, men vad hjälper det om boendet ät dåligt.
