Taos Studio
Sweet little place pretty close to town! Perfect for two people. We ate out most meals, but the kitchen had most things needed for preparing meals too. The weather wasn’t the greatest or we would’ve spent more time out on the deck area and hot tub. Nice Mountain View and the stars were bright when the clouds moved out. The only things missing were dish towels and a blanket for the cooler nights to snuggle up in. Overall a neat place.

Birthday Trip Success!
Property was cute and convenient to town and Taos Ski Valley. Very comfortable for two people. We brought a crock pot to have a home cooked meal which worked out perfectly. Our stay was during a fairly significant winter storm but we were cozy and tucked away with beautiful views when the storm would break. Thank you to the hosts for going above and beyond to make this trip perfect!!

Cute little lofted studio apartment. Pictures are accurate. Apartment was easy to find but a little tricky driving in/ out of down the alley behind the main house. Only downfall was that any food we left on the counter would be attacked by ants (even things in plastic containers). Otherwise everything was great!

This place would be great for couples
Pros: Cute, Simple, Centrally located. Cons: Parking, Keys, Shared Hot tub, heating We really liked the vibe of the apartment. It’s the top apartment of a converted garage (basically). So you stay in the back yard of the host and access through an alley. It’s a single room, so kitchen, bed and bathroom are tight within, so be comfortable with who you go with. You share the hot tub with your downstairs neighbor, make sure you understand that. I own a truck, so getting in and out of that alley was a nightmare. I had to park on the other street and with two kids, became a pain in the butt. IT’s baseboard heating so it takes a while to warm up. which is fine, makes for good snuggles. We stayed with two kids so it made it challenging but if it were just my wife and I, it would have been easier.

A nice stay
This is a rustic place but an easy 8-10 minute walk to the plaza area. Bring soap, shampoo, lotions, as not really provided. Wish light switches were clearly marked, as we spent time finding them in very unconventional locations. Parking area for 2 cars is extremely tight. Not sure a truck or large SUV could get in and out into narrow alley. Hot tub was nice.

Be Prepared for Noise
The unit was a little run down but serviceable. Unfortunately it is located next to the owners back yard resulting in noise from kids and dog. Not relaxing. Would not stay there again.

Studio in Taos
The directions were a little confusing the way we came in, but once we found it we had a covered parking spot ( which was amazing when it snowed! ) Overall Pros & Cons: PROS: Location!!! The Studio is walking distance to downtown, so we were able to walk just about everywhere we wanted. The private balcony was nice for our dogs who like to sun bathe & the private hot tub area was very relaxing. The studio is spacious enough for 2 people and 2 dogs but I could see it getting cramped with more. Someone had complained about the size of the shower but it was a lot larger then anticipated & they even extended the top, but a rain head on & closed it in so it stayed nice and warm. The view with the bottom portion of the window down was beautiful but the shades were broken ( multiple strings broken so they would haphazardly open and close ) and once open, a direct view in to the owners backyard. Plenty of pots and pans, but lacking regular cups and while the hot tub area says no glass, it's hard to abide by those rules when only 4 glass glasses are provided. We improvised, but would've been nice. CONS: Ok, at first glance the studio was clean. Now I'm not OCD but I do like it "clean" not just surface clean. When we arrived it was super late and we were exhausted. I went to make up the bed and pulled back the sheets to reveal some questionable stains. There were extra blankets in the closet so I thought I would just trade out. One of the blankets had "male fluids" for lack of better words, the other a down comforter full of pubic hair & then a light weight that was the only clean one. Luckily we brought our own sheets and pillows so I traded that out. The Bed. Wow! That is a well "used" mattress. It sags and droops all over and while firm in some spots, too firm, soft in spots, too soft. I had read someone elses feedback & brought a 4 inch memory topper for my side since I am a little more picky, but even my husband who can sleep just about anywhere said it hurt his back and neck. Cleanliness over all was lacking. The sink had all these bugs, I pulled up the blinds to see where they were coming from & the entire window was full of them. They were throughout the house and very much alive, some dead. Light fixtures full of bugs, carpet was nasty & no where dry for wet boots, so it just made everything wet. Noise. You can hear EVERYTHING. And when the kids are jumping on their trampoline their in your room. While the location was good we wont be back.

Well played!
Everything one person or a couple needs in Taos. Not fancy but who needs that nowadays. Hot tub was nice but could've been a little hotter. Walking distance to downtown and restaurants. Really just used as a home base for a ski trip. Well played all around. Would return if I come back to Taos.

We had a lovely time in this little apartment! Johnny and Kate were perfect hosts - obviously on the property and ready to handle things if necessary, but also warmly not-in-our-business. They cleared snow from the porch multiple times through the day (as it fell!). The pictures don't really capture how cool the wood is inside. Overall excellent place!

Great location and host!
Overall we had a great stay, there were a few issues that I was wondering if we could be compensated for. Both mornings when we woke up, the temperature in the room was 52 degrees and very cold. There was a space heater but the host needed it the second night for her personal home. There were also no amenities like soap, shampoo, or a sponge. Make sure you are with people that you are very close with because the bathroom is not closed in, meaning the top rafters are open to the room so you can hear (and smell) everything. Besides that we had an excellent stay, but I would appreciate some sort of credit or refund for the heat not working both days.

Hi Emily, The owner was surprised to see your review after they spoke with you during your stay: - When you reported that the heat was only in the 50s, they immediately called maintenance who replaced the thermostat within two hours - The owner checked in with you later that day, and you let them know that everything was great - There was an emergency that night with their elderly parents, which is why they requested the space heater. You said it was no problem since the heat in the studio was fine In the future, don't hesitate to let us know during your stay if you have any questions or concerns. The owner strives to provide a 5-star experience for their guests!

Taos Wool Weekend
Once we figured out how to turn on the heat (thermostat in the bathroom) we got warm and cozy for a wonderful Taos Wool Festival weekend. Close to everything and walking distance to Plaza for Saturdays am Farmers Market in the season. Bed was comfortable.

Taos with great views.
The best part of this property is the beautiful view of the mountains. We grilled on the deck and it was great. Parking was a problem because two vehicles wouldn’t fit when people came to stay in the property below. The carpet is seriously filthy but the shower/bath is nice.

We really enjoyed our stay - the views of the mountains were beautiful, place was clean and the patio was larger than I realized. Great location and within blocks to numerous restaurants, galleries and shops. Great place to stay in Taos!

Cozy and good location
We enjoyed our visit to Taos and our stay at this rental property. We have two small children, 5 and 7, and found this to be just enough size. The unit has a large bed and a pullout couch that you'll want to put back in during the day. Swamp cooler worked well to cool the place off, although a bit loud when running. Since it's an upper level, above another room, it had a great view of the mountains and a nice large outside porch. We did not have any issues with noise from us or vice-versa. The location was good, close to the downtown shopping areas and central to the whole area for the activities we did such as river rafting, visiting the bridge, and a day-trip UTV'ing in Red River. The hot tub was in a private porch area, so even though it's shared it's still private if it's just your family in there. Its nice that Taos and Red River are so close, so you can get two different types of vacations in the same vicinity. The owner lives on the same property in the main house, separated by the back yard and walk ways. We had a bit of a challenge getting checked in since the unit was not left open by the cleaner as expected, but that was resolved in about 10 minutes. Its recommended that there be a couple more signs to make the areas clear of what is private and what is for the guests. I'd stay here again if I were to go to Taos.

Taos upstairs studio
Great little studio with all the necessary items you might need throughout your stay. Other than the property manager expecting the plans of upstairs and downstairs guests to align, it was an okay trip. Do not book if you want complete silence. Think of this like a two story home, you are going to hear your upstairs and/or downstairs neighbors. As this was a non issue for us, our downstairs neighbors complained to the host that there were noises coming from the floorboards while we were getting ready for bed one evening. (How am I supposed to get around in my space? Float?) Dogs are allowed but I wouldn’t call this the most pet friendly. Our host had two labs that were really not fond of having our dog around. More than likely will stay somewhere more suitable to our needs during our next visit.

The location was very good, being only a few blocks from the historic district. Good interaction with the on site property manager. This rental could use a needed upgrade, as it quite wore . New carpet, and mattress would along way.

Our Taos Stay
This was a studio very near Kit Carson Park which was very convenient for us. It was in a quiet and peaceful location with a nice view of the mountains. We had everything we needed and will definitely stay here when we travel to Taos again. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

Perfect studio with a beautiful view
The property was perfectly located 5 minutes from downtown Taos. The cabin style studio had a captivating view of the surrounding mountains. The kitchen space was super functional and I utilized it nightly to make my dinners. Pots, pans, plates, dish ware, and knives are provided. You will need to bring your own cooking oils and seasonings if you plan on cooking. The hot tub is the perfect way to unwind under the stars before retiring for the night. It was the perfect space for my needs.

Parked our car and large raft trailer in the driveway (a difficult backing job to get out), and had walking distance to the Plaza. Hot tub has perfectly placed jets for feet and shoulders, nice! It's a great find.

Taos is great regardless of where you stay!
This was my VBRO rental, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This rental was adequate, but with a few upgrades could have been great. Entrance is in an alley and it was very dark walking back from town at night. Also it was an extremely hot July, and the unit only had a water cooler which didn't help much. There was no hair dryer, no shampoo, soap etc. but maybe we were supposed to bring those things? Otherwise it was clean, and convenient, so we enjoyed our trip!

A great little jumping off point!
A cute little hideaway to come home to at the end of a long day of galleries, hiking, etc. Very spacious for a "studio" with lovely light and a nice view of the mountain vista without losing any privacy. The owners were very responsive and helpful with everything from directions to managing a few special needs we had. A great way to enjoy Taos!

Convenient stay in Taos
This studio unit was comfortable and convenient for our stay in Taos. It's just a short walk to restaurants and the main plaza in Taos with a great view of the mountains. A few of the dishes and coffee maker were not clean when we arrived but we saw this as a minor inconvenience. We had a great stay in Taos and this unit worked well for us.

Hidden Gem
Stayed for a couple of days in the studio apartment which was a delightful experience. Apartment is tastefully decorated as only Taos can do. Views are absolutely gorgeous with large windows giving one a morning view of mountain tops if shades are left partially open. Large private deck to enjoy morning coffee and listen to the chickens cluck. Kitchen area well-stocked. Bathroom enclosed and very nice shower. Hard to find but owner provides excellent directions-would not recommend trying to find it after dark as entry is from a very tight alley way. We have stayed in many motels and VRBOs in Taos and must say this is up there with the best and highly recommend this property for a couple looking for a romantic stay in Taos.

Nice place to stay while enjoying Taos
This upstairs, open-plan apartment is an enjoyable place to stay while exploring Taos. Lots of room, a fully furnished kitchen with tile counters, a closet and bathroom with shower (no tub). TV with a variety of options for watching and comfortable chair and sofa. Deck outside has raised boards for privacy. Owners were installing a common-use hot tub below during our stay. Unit has a swamp cooler that kept the place satisfactorily cool during the warm July afternoons before the cooler monsoon weather moved in. Also has a small rotating fan that provides white noise during the night. Just a few minutes' walk away from the Taos plaza, even closer to the Fechin House museum (a must see). Got my wife's seal of approval as best place we stayed during our 8-day visit to New Mexico. There is a downstairs unit as well if you are not up to climbing stairs.

Quiet secluded neighborhood
We loved the apartment - fit us perfectly. We could easily walk to the shops and restaurants. Thank you to Kate for giving us a spare propane tank for the grill as we were midway through in our grilling a steak. Hot tub was very nice and the new one will be even better. If back again, we'll stay here.

Taos Apartment--Comfortable and good location
Recommended. Off the beaten path, but close enough to walk to plaza and central Taos. We have enjoyed the apartment and location more than once. It is small, but clean and comfortable, with good amenities. Attached deck is a plus, and it has private parking space.

Great location, experience and adorable place
Stayed there over Easter weekend and the place was great! We walked in and it was so cute, clean and had many of the necessities. It didn't have regular coffee only decaf in the freezer, but wasn't sure that was an amenity even provided. There were soaps in the bathroom and the kitchen was stocked nicely. My girls loved it and it was great having a place so close to town walkable to everything. We didn't end up using the hot tub, but will try to come back and stay here again for next time!!!! Loved it!
