Worst rental experience ever--don't even bother

We left after 1 night. It’s dirty and unsafe—even when it’s locked, you can pull on the handle of the back door from outside, and it opens right up. Someone came in while we were out, turned off the air, and moved some things. We called Vrbo and got out of there within an hour. There’s a broken light fixture in the master bath hanging from a wire in the ceiling. The only other light was in the shower. Some of the furniture is broken--a couch leg, doors on the TV stand, a broken cabinet on a closet floor. The toilet seat was hanging on by a thread, and there was blood on a door frame. There was trash in the front and back, a fallen tree, a washing machine on the deck, and another appliance in the yard. The floors were filthy. I dampened a paper towel and wiped the floor in a low-traffic area. It came away black, and everyone’s socks were black with the dirt. The bathroom floors looked clean, but they were so slippery and had no bathmats or rugs. There was only 1 small bath towel per person. The ice maker in the fridge was not connected, and there were no ice trays. The host never sent me check-in info until I contacted Vrbo. I finally heard from them about 2 hours before check-in and asked when I’d be there so she could arrange to have it cleaned first. I contacted the host 3 or 4 times but never got a response. Believe me—the hosts don’t care about their guests. Vrbo gave me their phone number (a Columbia number), which was out of service when I tried to call it.

Inside clean. But outside?

The inside was clean and the beds were comfortable. The property is priced correctly for the inside. But the backyard needs some work. I won't go into the details to give the owner an opportunity to correct it.

Great bargain

We had some trouble with the check in process, however, that was resolved very quickly by the owner. The property was exactly as described, not a lot of amenities however, for the cost, we didn’t expect a whole lot. The washer and dryer were located in the back and worked well. The living room/kitchen where the TV was was an odd set up Watch TV or anything so it worked out perfect. Overall, we got exactly what we wanted and had no issues.

Quaint

Overall a cute little place to stay. Cleanliness wasn’t bad at all. Some old cobwebs in the kitchen but we took them down with the broom. Owner was easy to work with and We were able to check in a little early due to being a little ahead of schedule. Communication was great. Was perfect for our one night stay!

VRBO Scam

Never received a welcome email and the property owner is listing a house that they don’t own. Not a good first time impression with VRBO. I will be very hesitant about using VRBO again anytime soon or recommending VRBO to a friend. I do want to shout out Basam for his efforts in resolving this issue in a very timely manner.

The size of the property was very nice, but there were no wash cloths and only one towel for each guest. Also minimal utensils and pots and pans for cooking We appreciated the comfortable beds, how easy it was to use the shower, how clean the place was, but one bed was very uncomfortable. Be wary of the neighborhood. It’s considered a bit unsafe to go out at night. know Tina's bed wasn't comfortable)

Inside was ok. Needs more kitchen stuff. For example , there wasn’t a can opener. Coffee pot needs an upgrade also. Yard had downed tree limbs everywhere. Yard has a lot of potential if owners invested some money in the property, it could be really nice.

1st Time Customer

The location was great. It was definitely a short drive to everywhere we had to go. The neighborhood wasn’t as great. My only problem with the inside of the house is that some of the bed sheets were stained.

Our one night stay

We didn’t get checked in till late after being at Busch Gardens all day. I specifically booked a home not a hotel so our family could stay comfortably and make dinner. Check in was easy, parking was private. I tried to make dinner, thankfully I brought almost everything I needed. But every pot and pan, every fork every plate was dirty. I had to wash everything in their kitchen in order to cook. No trash bags, a crappy little coffee maker but no filters. No can opener I could continue. But the point is made. They really need to hire a different housekeeper and stock that home for actual use.

In Tampa for a wedding.

It’s an older house in a neighborhood of older houses, but has been completely remodeled inside as a rental. Basic and clean. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Easy to get around. It is right beside I-275 but the roadway is elevated so you’re not really hearing traffic when in the house. I thought the beds were very comfortable.

The pictures were not accurate to the condition of home. We left early to go stay somewhere else. We found a couple cockroaches and the house was not appropriately stocked. It was very disappointing.

We arrived 3 hours after check in time, the cleaning person was still there with her young children. We returned 30 minutes later to find dirty sheets, trash in the yard and a dirty refrigerator. Of coures the owner claims the house was in perfect condition.

Do NOT stay here!

This property was completely a disaster. Upon our arrival we were greeted with trash and broken glass in the front and back yard. Not safe for our little kids to be in at all. When you get in the property you’re smacked in the face with an overwhelming stench of some sort of smoke and a horribly strong room spray. The floors were filthy, as well as the rest of the unit. Wouldn’t recommend

The place was in a relatively good location, consuming wise. A family dollar and grocery store is just down the street and its only a few minutes away by car to restaurants, stores, gas stations, etc. The property itself includes no private parking, and the laundry is outside in a shed like addition to the house in the yard which is “protected” by a fence in pretty poor condition. Our ultimate concern was the safety of the property. Every lock on each door was the same which resulted in our great concern with the doors leading to the backyard. The main bedroom has a door accessing the yard, felt really unsafe there especially. The house just seems overall weakly put together. No cable, live tv was a bad option and never really live. Also no real living room area so most of the time my family spent time separately in our rooms, so not ideal at all. Had an ant problem as well so that added to the cleanliness issue, as well as possible bed bugs and some roaches we had to kill. We survived the week but unfortunately wouldn’t recommend others try to.
