Excellent Place highly recommened

We really enjoyed our vacation time staying at Puesta del Sol 1 in PLaya Langosta Great location, closed to supermarket, less than 3 min walk from a beautiful beach and different restaurants walk distance. The house is central located but very peaceful and you will find quiet nights. The place has fabulous areas to relax, space to workout, the pool is fantastic with lounge chairs, towels and an area for a BBQ with all the BBQ tool set required. You can also find chairs to bring with you to the beach, also towels. You find everything you need for a comfortable stay, the bedrooms have their own bathroom (large bathrooms with beautiful decoration) and and walking closets, balconies and beautiful sight to the gardens, (there is an bedroom with independent entrance and kitchen). The social areas: kitchen (very well equipped), living room and dining room are just perfectly distributed, suited with all you need for a great stay. Good access to internet too. Very well maintenance to the place. The host Brian Leonard exceeded our expectations, very friendly and welcoming, always willing to help and very attentive. We highly recommend to stay here, we had a great time and a great stay.

Playa Langosta

A group of 7, family and friend, stayed at this house for 8 nights. Nice area and close enough to everything. House was very comfortable. I would recommend staying here.

Mixed review

We actually really enjoyed the location and the house. We had two major issues during the stay. When we arrived the pool was not working correctly and was dirty for 2 days until the pool company came to get it back on line. Our second issue was a major leak that caused flooding on the second floor. All three bedrooms and bathrooms were flooded and it took 2 days for the situation to be fixed. We were not provided any type of reinbursement and spent a day cleaning up the flooded rooms and waiting for the plumber to come deal with the problem. Four showers could not be used for almost two days which meant we all depended on the pool as a way to clean up before going out at night. Again I will emphasize that we liked the location and the house but having to deal with those issues with no compensation was very disappointing after being so excited to return to our favorite destination. I will say the the woman who reserved our golf carts and planned our excursions was wonderful!

Frustrating house

House is need of many repairs and neighborhood looks a bit like a construction zone . Our first impressions were also compounded by an extremely hot house ( the air had not been turned on despite our clear updates about arrival time. It took quite a while to cool - 2-3 hours. And then we discovered there was no water. Water truck arrived about 930 pm and with little kids that was way too late. We were told the day before that there were water shortages, too late to make changes in plans. We ran out again three times and each time had to wait for delivery. Mikel was helpful and responsive but not being able to do dishes or flush meant we had to eat out way more than we planned. Many outlets didn't work, doors wouldn't open or shut, sinks didn't drain, dishwasher didn't clean dishes ( when we had water) and washing machine didn't drain. Yes owners and Mikel were responsive but it still had a major impact on enjoying vacation. The house needs some serious attention. I do feel we should've been reimbursed for all our meals out( $800 as there were 9 of us) but no such offer has been made . And yes there is a speck of ocean from the 3rd floor window but "ocean view" is an exageration.

Nice place just out of town

We had a great time. The place was clean and safe. It is about a 15 minutes to walk to town, but we loved the location. We drove the car into town twice but enjoyed walking the rest of the time. (especially when we cut through to the beach. It's an amazing walk.) The communication from the Host and others was excellent.

Great Place, Great Hosts

We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Puesta del Sol Villa 1. We had two families, the accommodations were perfect. We each had our own rooms, and bathrooms. Kitchen was very well stocked, garage was a bonus, beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious. Brian and Nikki were very helpful for local tips and answering questions. The location was a very easy walk to the beach and into Tamarindo. I would recommend this property for privacy, convenience, comfort, space, and ease. Thank you Brian and Nikki for a great stay. Special shout out to Mikel who helped us back in once we completely locked up to check out! Great service.

Absolutely Wonderful

This property is EXACTLY how it looks and is described in the listing. Mikel (the local caretaker ) was very responsive and very helpful. The walk to the beach is very short and the town is a quick golf cart ride away. Everything from check in to check out was very simple. We all slept very well and it is extremely comfortable. Anytime we are in the Tamarindo area I will be looking for this house first! Thank you for letting us stay!

Not what we expected

The photos make it appear to be closer to the beach than it is. It is a good 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 minute walk to town. We rented golf carts for two days because the walk was longer than we anticipated. When we showed up at the property, it was hot and no air conditioning units were on at all. I had told the property manager what time we would be there and we stood outside waiting for him and then it was cooler outside than it was inside. We were told not to use the downstairs toilet because it was leaking. During our stay the kitchen sink leaked and had to be repaired, the dryer broke and we were out of towels because it couldn’t be repaired for a couple of days, we ran out of water while taking showers and had to wait over an hour for a water truck so we had to reschedule family pictures. mikel was timely in responding but some things just couldn’t be repaired timely. Tunning out of water should have never happened if he was checking the water level weekly. There were ants crawling on the counters in the bathrooms. We found a few bugs (ants) in the sheets. The pool is smaller than it looks. The house appears to not be in the best shape and have major plumbing problems. Luckily we took out the property insurance for $69 because we got notified of a claim for the downstairs toilet seat (that we couldn’t even use to begin with) a cooler that we didn’t use, move, or touch, and a chip in the glass table in the dining room that is no larger than a pinky fingernail and we have no idea if that was there before us or not. Again, we purchased the insurance so it’s no skin off our backs what they claim but had we not purchased the insurance I’m not sure how we could dispute it unless we took photos or videoed every room and furniture piece upon checkout. There are two restaurants in the town and they were both great. There’s also a small store right down the road so that was convenient. Even with the house problems, our trip was amazing and we loved Costa Rica.

the house is beautiful excellent taste, the view is amazing and has EVERYTHING you need to have a great vacation with family and friends. Nicole is always there to respond to your every need. you are close to Tamarindo and you can walk to the beach. my family and I had a great time. we will be back next year. Thank you. The concierge was amazing she can help you book any activity you want to do, or give you all the information you need to have an even greater time. thanks again.

Beautiful, Spacious, Private and Perfectly Located

The home is contemporary with clean white lines, art adds splashes of color to each room as does beautiful bed linens and throw pillows. Each room has its own bathroom which gives each room a private feeling, a place where you can escape for a few minutes to clean up or read a book. The view from the penthouse room is spectacular, we watched the sunset from the balcony and in the mornings watched huge iguanas sun on the tops of palm trees. We also watched monkeys pass through the trees from both the pool area and the penthouse. The pool area is lovely, with plenty of seating for all nine of us. We spent every evening there, and in the mornings we would have coffee and watch as a dove sat on her nest in the palms not six feet from us, so peaceful and beautiful. A neighborhood cat visited us on occasion, his visits were fun, he was a lover and I guess there's just something about a cat laying poolside that is calming. The kitchen has everything you need and more, less four glasses we broke! Which by the way, thank you Nichole for being so kind and understanding about the damage. As for feeling safe, the house has an alarm system that you set when you leave and when you go to bed as well as two safes for your money, passports, etc. We would walk to dinner in the evening and walk home as late as nine and never felt uncomfortable,the neighborhood felt safe. Location is perfect, less than a block to the grocery store, two blocks to a great pizza place, a super short walk to the beach. We walked to the beach daily and saw monkeys in the trees along the trail every day. That was to Langosta Beach, Tamarindo beach is also a short walk, we used the path by Captain Suizos. So I would say location was perfect, keep in mind we had a four year old with us and an eighteen month old. Distance mattered and it was not a problem. Mikel Castillo, the property manager was only a phone call away if we needed him, very responsive and helpful. He also called the house a couple times just to make sure we were happy and settled. I thought it was a nice touch. Kim Potter works with Nichole as a concierge, she was amazing, incredibly helpful arranging our transportation to and from the condo as well as golf cart rentals, surfing lessons and our sunset cruise on the Antares, which is a must do while you are in Tamarindo, a lovely experience. In summary, beautiful, spacious, private and perfectly located, don't hesitate to book with Nichole and Brian.

Disappointed

For how much this rental cost we definitely expected more. It was not very clean, windows full of dead insects (months worth) dust layered on top of TV, used tooth floss picks on the floor and beside pool area, broken light switch which was fixed eventually, one toilet even had a bowel movement in it and used toilet paper but had a bow on it. Obviously it had not been checked or cleaned so I would assume none of them were. We let the owners know but they didn’t send anybody to clean and no contact with them after we let them know about this other than to fix the light switch and safe that wasn’t working. Someone to clean would have been a nice touch. We have rentals and are meticulous about them and there is no excuse for this. Also, it appears that a lot of the reviews seem to be family or friends. I thought we would wait to do this review to see if the owner reached out but that didn’t happen. Find yourself a better rental if your looking for clean because this one will disappoint

Beautiful beach house

The house this expectacular has all the comforts to spend a good holiday with the family. I loved that it is very close to the best surfing beaches, we enjoyed it very much and the owners were very attentive. I would definitely stay in the same place.

Great CR vacation home!

Spacious for our group of nine, comfortable, loaded kitchen, well stocked with plenty of towels, washer/dryer and other amenities. Brian & Nikki do a great job providing full details & always available with any questions. Definitely recommend!

Casa Puesta del-Sol in Langousta Tamarindo

The maid was there cleaning when we arrived and hadn't finished. The property manager was there and it was lucky he came outside because the door bell and nothing was working to let him know we were there. At that time we hadn't figured out why the phone wasn't working. The pool was really dirty. The property manager was cleaning it to a more possible usable condition. Everyone knew what time we were going to be arriving so I am not sure why it wasn't ready before we arrived. The kitchen utensils were great and everything else worked fine. The pool boy came twice a week but the winds made it so that we had to clean the pool daily. Overall it was an okay experience.

Awesome house and nice location

A beautiful and unique house. Location is great. A little secluded, walking distance to the beach and close to Tamarindo. The glass wall facing the backyard and pool gives the house a great vibe. Very will equipped. Lots of dishes, silverware, etc. Beautiful decoration. The other was extremely responsive. Overall we had a great stay.
