This was a long weekend for the ages. We arrived the day after a snowstorm which dumbed 12 feet on Lake Tahoe. We made it up to the house by taking a long route but neither the housekeeper nor snow plow had been able to get there. This was no surprise as our hostess was in constant communication with us regarding the weather situation and even offered to extend our stay one night for free if we wanted to stay in a hotel for our first night. We politely declined, deciding that this house, even not cleaned, would be much more comfortable. We were right. We settled in and the next day the driveway was plowed and the house cleaned. Because of our troubles our hosts allowed us to stay the full day on our last day so that we could enjoy skiing and come back to shower. The house is big and comfy with just enough personal touches to make you feel welcome. We cooked in the well stocked, very large kitchen and later relaxed in the living room with the gas fireplace roaring, so cozy! We were only there for 3 nights and wished for more! The location is just 15-20 minutes from Palisades and Alpine ski areas which once the roads were plowed, was an easy drive. We found a gem when we rented this house! Highly recommend!
