  • Stay at the Mellow Yellow House; walking distance to all the Proctor amenities!

    Spacious backyard with an enormous deck, hot tub, and fire pit. 4 large bedrooms, 6 beds, 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens; this is the perfect space for a family getaway, work trip, etc.

    Relax with the whole family in this peaceful retreat right in the heart of N Tacoma


    We are available for questions, advice, or emergencies by phone, text or email. We will be happy to respond in person for any emergency with the property.

    The Mellow Yellow Guide Book is available in the house. It offers great local recommendations for food and beverages, attractions, or anything you might be seeking. It also gives instructions on how everything in the house operates.


    We are nestled in the heart of beautiful North End Tacoma, a ten-minute walk to the popular Proctor District or 20 minute walk to 6th Ave District offering delicious restaurant and beverage options. The neighborhood is very centrally located with quick freeway access. It is an easy commute to nearly every part of Tacoma including the hospitals, Tacoma Dome, University of Puget Sound, downtown and the waterfront. We are close to a major bus line as well.




    You will have access to the whole house and yard. We do have a couple locked closets for storage of our supplies, otherwise, the house is completely setup for guest use.

    There is plenty of parking on the side of the house as well as 2 parking spaces out front.


    You will have access to the entire house. You’ll have use of 4 bedrooms (2 queen beds, 2 twin beds and 2 full beds). There are 2 full bathrooms (1 with a bathtub, 1 with shower). One of the Queen bedrooms and the Twin bedroom (2 twins with trundle bed) and one bathroom are located on the main level. The 2 Full beds can be found upstairs in our "Kids loft" though adults are welcome to stay and find their inner child in this sweet space. The other Queen bedroom is located in the basement.

    The upper living room offers a cozy sitting area with books, games and a smart TV for your family’s enjoyment. The kitchen has all the essentials including a gas range/oven, refrigerator, coffee maker (both drip coffee and single coffee pod use available), microwave and toaster. Just off the kitchen is a large dining area that seats 6 and a bar that seats 2. We also have a folding table in the basement that seats 4 that is flexible to move around the house/yard as needed.

    The laundry room, kitchenette and "Game Room" are located in the basement with access to the backyard. We have Cornhole boards for you to take out on a sunny day, as well as outdoor dishes you can use for a family dinner in our park-like yard.

    The backyard is fully fenced for the kiddos and pups. The large 6 person hot tub is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

    We gladly welcome pets with a flat $120 pet fee used for our stellar allergen-free cleaning protocol.


    The house is on a corner with free street parking in front of the house and on the side street, as well as throughout the neighborhood. Please do not park in front of our neighbor's house as that is their only parking area.

    Our neighborhood is an enjoyable area to walk in. Everything you might need is within a few minutes of the property. If you don't have a vehicle, there is easy access to public transportation and the Proctor District with grocery stores, restaurants, bars, and Post Office is a 10 minute walk.


    In order to provide the best guest experience possible, we will send you a text message with the door code and other check-in details on check-in day. You will be able to reply via text with any questions that come up during your stay and we will reply quickly. You are welcome to opt out of text messages at any time.

    *We strictly enforce our No Parties or Events/Gatherings rules. No additional guests outside of those on the reservation are allowed. Quiet hours are 10 pm - 8 am. Violation of the rules will result in a $5,000 fine and a $700 per unregistered guest fine. If you're planning to throw an all-nighter do not book with us. Thanks.

    *Please review and agree to our hot tub rules prior to booking:

    HOT TUB RULES
    1. Please shower with soap before entering the hot tub.
    2. Enter and exit the hot tub slowly.
    3. Swimsuits required.
    4. Children must be always accompanied by an adult.
    5. No children under 5 years permitted.
    6. No jumping or diving.
    7. Soaking sessions limited to 15 minutes.
    8. Do not bring glass in or near hot tub (we provide plastic cups for use in the hot tub).
    9. Do not use hot tub under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
    10. Do not use soaps or oils in hot tub.
    11. Do not enter hot tub after a heavy meal.
    12. Please replace hot tub cover after use.
    13. Do not sit or lie down on cover.
    14. Turn off jets after use and turn down heat to 102.
    15. Do not use alone.
    16. Do not exceed 4 persons at a time.
    17. Do not submerge your head under water.
    18. Keep long hair out of water and away from any drains or filters.
    19. Hot tub usage allowed between the hours of 8am-10pm only.
    20. All users of the hot tub do so at their own risk.
    Please consult your doctor before using the hot tub if you are pregnant, have heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or any other health conditions.


    *We are happy to have you and your Pet stay with us! Below is our complete Pet Policy including any applicable fees. Please know that by booking our property, you are agreeing to abide by our policy and fees. Please notify us when booking if you will be bringing any pets, their breeds and sizes and agreement to our pet policy.


    PET POLICY:
    • Pet is required to have a collar, harness, or microchip with owner information attached should it become lost.
    • Pet must be current on rabies vaccine.
    • Pet must always be on a leash when outside the property.
    • Pet must be housebroken, non-aggressive, not destructive, and not display repeated, unprovoked barking.
    • Pet should not be left unattended at any time at the property or in the yard.
    • Please clean up defecations immediately. Clean-up (“poop bags”) are provided. Please place soiled bags in outdoor garbage containers only.
    • Please walk your pets outside for bathroom needs. Indoor piddle pads are not allowed.
    • Please keep your pets off the furniture and counters.
    • Please do not bath your pets in our bathrooms or use our bath towels on your pets. A pet towel is provided in our pet basket should you need it for any reason.
    • You are always responsible for your pet’s behavior. While we reasonably expect your pet is well-behaved, should any damage occur, you are responsible for the cost of any cleaning, repairs, or replacements.
    • We can ask you to remove your pet and/or leave for excessive barking, aggressive or damaging behavior or obvious lack of sanitation.


    PET FEES*
    • We gladly welcome pets with a flat $120 pet fee used for our stellar allergen-free cleaning protocol.
    • For stays over 28 nights we require an additional pet fee each month.


    WE PROVIDE:
    • Water & Food dish
    • Pet clean-up bags (poop bags).
    • Furniture covers (old sheets or blankets are best).
    • Extra rags, towels, and carpet/furniture cleaner for accidents.
    • Accessible outdoor garbage can for poop bag disposal.

My family and I selected this home based on our needs and location in Tacoma. While there were a couple of hiccups, the host was incredibly responsive.We appreciated our time together and are thankful for the space.

Mellow house perfect for family

Our three generation family enjoyed our stay in this charming, comfortable, well organized house in a quiet, walkable neighborhood - walking distance to our favorite grocery store - Metropolitan Market, a short drive to Ruston, Point Defiance and Owen Beach and yet close to downtown museums. The hot tub, large yard and large eating deck were great!

Great Home!

The house was great for our family of six - it accommodated everyone nicely, was clean and super cute. Our kids loved all the games and toys, and the back yard and hot tub were a big hit. Definitely recommend!

Excellent home

The home is excellent for our family group. Clean, comfortable, beautiful yard for relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked for meal prep. Bathrooms are very nice. Plenty of towels. We chose mostly for proximity to our family in the neighborhood and we would definitely stay here again.

Lovely North End Home Base

We loved our stay at Mellow Yellow with our three adult children. It is a perfect family gathering spot in a lovely neighborhood in North Tacoma. The kitchen was well-organized, well-stocked and helpfully labeled, and there was a great grill on the deck, so we were able to enjoy several outdoor meals during our stay. The ample back yard was very comfortable for our golden retriever and made a lovely suburban oasis. Upstairs and downstairs entertainment spaces made it easy for our group to maintain separate schedules when desired, and the home has a great library of books and games for both adults and children - a perfect family home base walking distance from the delightful Proctor District.
