This apartment more than met the needs of my wife and me during our 8 day stay in Ortigia (Siracusa). We were looking for an apartment that was lovely and conveniently located and indeed it was. The apartment though small is well designed. With windows and light on 3 sides the apartment is bright during the daytime and the roof top terrace is a total joy when the weather is sunny. We particularly enjoyed the terrace in the late afternoon after an active day of touring either in Siracusa or its environs. It was a great place for "aperitivi" and snacks in the late afternoon.
Roberta was particularly helpful in finding us parking for our car which we used particularly when visiting nearby towns such as Noto, Castelmola, Agrigento and Villa Romana del Casale, not to mention the area around Aetna. While touring in Origia itself the car was unnecessary but it was good to know that the car was accessible and convenient enough. The owner of the parking "Nino" or his assistants were kind and helpful when it came to maneuvering the car in and out of the parking area.
One final detail though which I direct toward fellow Americans or anyone else of our age. We noted from previous reviews about the apartment that there were steps. The apartment itself is located on the 2nd floor, (3rd American floor) and the steps are secure but narrow. This is probably typical of apartments in Ortigia. You'll want to pack lightly and be in moderately good shape to deal with the steps. We traveled with 3 carry-on bags which is about the limit of what you'd want to bring. There's also a large enough landing after the 1st flight of steps if you need to rest on your way up. This was a 3 week trip, so we traveled relatively lightly for us. Being in our 70's my wife and I found the views, terrace and convenience well worth the climb.
Roberta was very attentive and made sure that during the eight days we had the cleaning services to which we were entitled and arranged the schedule according to our convenience. Overall, it was a lovely visit and keep fond memories of this stay in Ortigia.
Finally, we never met Roberta in person. The entry and arrival formalities were entirely contact-less if one is concerned safety at this (hopefully) end of the pandemic. She seemed so kind in communications during our visit that I hope someday we might be able to meet in person. She always responded reasonably promptly to our messages and enquiries.
