Where do I start!!! Booked and paid through Wotif. Printed confirmation of booking with total price displayed. Then was informed that there was no front desk reception and to contact a certain number 24hrs before check-in. On contacting the number supplied - was advised there was a $169 cleaning fee!!! Then I received a text message from the proprietor of the property saying she was cancelling the reservation unless the cleaning fee was paid in 30 minutes.
To Wotif's credit, when I contacted them and advised the situation, they offered to refund the cleaning fee.
Check-in time was advertised as 2.30pm. On our way to Sydney, I received a text message advising that the previous guests vacated the premises late and so we couldn't check in at the advertised time. We arrived at 5pm - no keys at the advised place, someone else occupying the allotted car space and the room still being cleaned!!
Still haven't received an apology!!
Finally got in at 5.45pm. Only one key and so when our son left to visit friends, we were left with no provision to leave the building and re-access our room.
One other small bug-bear...plenty of coffee (Woolworth's brand pod coffee) no milk in the fridge and a note tacked to the wall of the kitchen with tape to inform us that the coffee was $1.50 per cup...albeit 20% of the proceeds went to a children's hospital however no proof of that was provided. Add insult to injury... half empty bottles of cheap branded items in the bathroom.
