The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.
The Good - the view of the bridge. Closeness to Balmain East wharf for ferries to city or bus to Balmain and city.
The Bad - you will be asked for a non refundable security deposit before access details are provided. This has to be paid direct to letting agent.
The Ugly - (see previous reviews) the mould and peeling wallpaper have been rectified. But the place still needs some TLC.

The million dollar view
Accomodation was clean and had everything you need.
Great location, so handy to the ferry to get around.
But let’s be honest the view is what it’s all about - the best entertainment going is watching the harbour go about being the harbour and the ever changing view of the bridge throughout the day.

Excellent Location
Located right on bay with balmain east ferry wharf and bus stop both at door step. View of Sydney skyline and the famous Sydney harbour bridge.A cafe next door. Plenty of restaurants at walking distance. We got late check out for two hours. Enjoyed the stay.

Location is ideal
A great little place for 2pp. Location is ideal… not to mention the view of the bridge. Ferry is just out the front making it so easy to access tourist hot spots. There is a slight mould issue and smells a bit damp. However it is great for a short stay.

We generally like to leave decent reviews, without being too picky. The unit itself is a great place to stay for location - one of the best areas - just a ferry ride from most places of interest. The unit itself needs some TLC, a major overhaul from top to bottom. I don’t like to feel icky when using a bathroom, need I say more, cobwebs are easy to keep down, so those are something you shouldn’t have to see or worry about. Furniture could use a little update or a good clean. We were there for 5 nights, 6 days and only had one towel each for that length of time with no laundry service in the building or unit. When you shower daily, one towel is just not enough, especially in the muggy damp weather when nothing ever really dries. Also most lights in the unit are either burnt out or the dimmer switch’s don’t work.
The bed was comfy, but bedroom could use blackout shades, the bus loop is right at your windows and if you wake during the night you may think it’s morning.
All in all we made it work

A great base for exploring Balmain and easy to hop on the ferry to Circular Quay, Manly etc. The apartment is well kitted out, good pots and pans for cooking, and self-check-in was easy. The bus turning circle outside the windows adds a small bit of noise, so bring earplugs if you're sensitive to that, but otherwise it's not noisy. Air con was helpful on hot days. There's an iron and ironing board (not mentioned in the listing) - I wish they provided a hairdryer, and a spare set of sheets for stays longer than a week, but otherwise a great stay and I'd happily stay again. Balmain high street is a few mins by bus or a short walk up and down a couple of hills, lots of nice independent shops, pharmacies, supermarket, pubs etc. Parking close by is very limited, so do book the carparking spot if you plan to have a car.

Can't beat the view, and the ferry stop being a 1 minute walk away makes getting around Sydney easy. Only downside about the location is the bus stop out the front, meaning the early morning and late night beeping when it reverses could be an irritant for some. But others may not be bothered, and would enjoy having a bus stop literally on the doorstep.

Great view, great location, shame about apartment
Amazing position, lovely neighbourhood, spoilt only by the poor condition of the apartment. We had a pay an upfront damage deposit for an apartment when really we should have had money returned to us. Peeling walls, mould on walls and ceiling in lounge spoilt our 8 day booking and had to report a list of other issues as well. No offer of refund, so we had to grin and bear it.

Great location -but ...
A potentially great property let down by lack of maintenance. There was mould on the wall and ceiling in one room and paper peeling off the wall. The letting agent tried to retain my security deposit for the peeling paper - even though it had been highlighted in previous visitor reviews. The property is quite compact. Accessing the property on first arrival is quite complex (follow all links in email to see what to do). Nevertheless, the location is great for anyone visiting Balmain or Sydney CBD and the views are fantastic.

Perfect location. Check in procedure easy.Very disappointed in the cleanliness of the apartment. We cleaned the windows on the 1st morning so we could see the beautiful view.There was mould on the ceiling and walls that we reported thinking it was something new, only to see others have commented on this previously. That’s really not acceptable. The plasterboard was damaged and torn, the toaster only worked on one side as the lever was broken, the fridge was so iced up in the freezer compartment that the door wouldn’t close making the fridge section warm. All of these issues should have been rectified before any paying guests check in.However, If the cleaning and general maintenance were stepped up, we would stay again as the apartment is in a great position in a lovely area.
