Unfriendly owners
The steps were non- standard size, and were very steep and narrow. Minimal cleaning was done. The lights and lampshades were dirty. The carpet was torn and slippery. Most of the indoor furniture was unusable, especially the dining room. None of the outdoor furniture was usable since it was sewn together or was held together with zip ties. There was a particularly nasty note in the kitchen pertaining to spills on the carpet and charging you for it. Who puts carpet in a kitchen???? When the owner contacted me, he ended with "What did you expect?"

This guest was not satisfied with anything about the house, it appears. While the furnishings are not new, and the carpeting on the stairs does need to be replaced, no one else has complained as much as this one. Most people appreciate that we try to keep rental costs down by doing repairs rather than replacing everything new yearly. If we did that, the rent would have to be at least double what it is now, and most of our customers would not like that. It appears that this guest was looking for more expensive accommodations. Sorry we could not accommodate that expectation.

Great location
This is a great property. My only 2 concerns were that the property did not seem to be cleaned well, dust on surfaces and while I realize it's not completely controllable, the deck was coated in pollen.. The other concern is if my check in/out times were adjusted by an hr on both ends due to COVID cleaning, why wouldn't it have been cleaned better. Overall I loved the location and seclusion.

Great family trip!
We visited Deep Creek to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday with family who surprised him from AZ. We had age range from 8-66 and everyone had a great time! The property was just as we expected, very fairly priced and we were super comfortable during our stay. We rented a boat for a day and had a blast, and also took advantage of the park pass and checked out some falls. We'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Great stay in Deep Creek
We loved our New Years weekend in Deep Creek - even through the rainy weather. Rock Haul was big enough for everyone to have a bedroom but laid out so that we felt cozy hanging out at the fire pit, playing cards, sharing a meal. There are many nearby state parks and everyone had the same idea to take a walk outside. The parks were jammed thanks to warm weather. But even with the crowds in the park, the house is situated in the quiet of the woods and overlooks the calm lake. The peacefulness was well worth it. Hope to return!!

Lovely home on the water
Beautiful large home. Great porch with lake views. Comfortable beds, clean, lovely communal areas. Only drawbacks are one bath on each floor and lots of stairs. We loved it and hope to go back.

All we needed!
The property had everything we needed for our stay. While the house itself is not up-to-date, it had all we needed and was reasonable given the price. We took our boat, so the easy access to it at the dock was awesome!

Great break!
My family ( grandparents, uncles, aunts, and kid cousins) had a blast! We spent most days at the dock and on our boat ( we brought a family boat) and we spent the evenings either playing games or by the campfire. We went to swallow falls one day as well. Great, simple getaway.

Great home for our family
This home was perfect for our short get way for our family. The house was clean, spacious and provided us with basic amenities that we forgot to bring. They had movies and games for us to use and the beautiful view of lake was gorgeous. If we ever come back to deep creek again, this will be the home we choose.

Wonderful house
I loved this house. 2 couples plus 1 stayed and it was very cozy. We liked the house layout and it had all the necessities. My husband and I stay in Deep Creek 2-3 times a year and rarely stay at the same house, but we all agreed we would stay here again!

Thanksgiving at Rock Haul
Rock Haul was a great place. The house is wonderful and the location is superb. There are many dishes, serving pieces, and pots and pans. The dining room table was big so we could all fit there. Overall, we all had a happy Thanksgiving at Rock Haul.

comfortable and well located
It's a very comfortable house where the 2 families had enough space for all. We had bad weather and had to stay in the house more than planed and the house handled it very well!

Beautiful location
The home is older but is well maintained. There are 3 floors with bedrooms on top and bottom. The porch is fabulous. The kitchen and dining area was good for cooking and eating. Outdoor fire pit was a bonus.

The description clearly says that the house has 6 bedrooms and states where they are located. We strive to keep the house clean and in good repair. Not so concerned with replacing usable furniture to keep the rent lower.

Homey and Relaxing
What a lovely relaxed feel in this spacious, unpretentious home! We so enjoyed the opportunity to relax on the outdoor porch and the hear the sound of birdsong, which carried on from early morning until dark. The use of the reserved dock allowed us to use our kayaks with ease. We found several places in the neighborhood for safe and pleasant walks with our dog, and she enjoyed the spaciousness and comfort of this home as much as we did. We definitely plan to come back.

Loved the property
This house was perfect for our family. They also allowed us to bring our dogs. It was a short walk for our kids to swim off the dock and for our dogs to go swimming as well. It was fully equipped with everything to meet our needs. We look forward to spending another week next year at this property.

Rock Haul
We did not stay at North Glades. We stayed at their other location, Rock Haul. Overall we had a nice stay. The house had a lot of mosquitoes inside before we got there. The basement was extremely damp. We had the dehumidifier running the whole time with a floor fan and by the 6 th night it was better. Our kids clothes were damp from being downstairs and the bed sheets were so damp they couldn’t sleep on the beds. The owners installed a new dehumidifier on our last night. It would also be nice to have scissors and pot holders that are useful. Simple amenities could be updated. There is not much of a lake view when the trees are blooming. There are ALOT of steps in this house so I would not recommend it for elderly people.

Roomy and comfortable house - great for a family gathering!
My extended family were very comfortable in this house with bedrooms for everyone and a large dining room. The kitchen had all the appliances and cooking equipment we needed and there were fans for each window. The two bedrooms upstairs with A/C window units kept the upstairs cool as long as the bedroom doors were kept open. the owners provided a pass for Deep Creek State Park which had a great beach. We also enjoying very much walking to and swimming in the Swallow Falls which was a short drive away. My family had a great time - swimming, playing board games, watching fireworks, and roasting marshmallows!

Nice house, great location
Our extended family had a good time and was comfortable in this house. There is lots of room and the kitchen is pretty well equipped. We enjoyed swimming off the dock, and spent a night around the fire ring.

Very nice place, older home, but location and atmosphere was good.
Nice place, great location. Clearly an old home but well equipped and nice atmosphere. Only real issue was a slight smokey smell in the lower level due to the wood stove and spotty WiFi availability. Overall would book again quickly.

Very good location, nice layout, but it needs some TLC
The good part: we liked the view and location of this house. It was a good size for our group. It allowed my well behaved dog. Great rental price. The not-so-good part: ants in the kitchen and bedrooms, spiders in the basement. Basement fireplace smelled bad - initially we thought it is a smoker's house. One coffee filter was not cleaned in weeks because it had mold to the edge of the filter cup. Some alarm got on in the basement in the middle of the night and was turned off next day by the maintenance people, after we called. Sorry, I hate to leave bad reviews, but I think the owners should be aware that the house needs better cleaning and bug control.

Family Celebrates the Holidays in Style
Rock Haul was the perfect place for our family to come together to share an early celebration of Christmas. Six bedrooms and three baths were ideal for our situation. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. No one was concerned about being the last one to shower because there was always plenty of hot water. We awoke Saturday morning to an ice covered world. No one cared. In fact, we all enjoyed having breakfast while admiring the beauty of the trees and speculating on whether or not the ice fishermen on the lake really knew what they were doing. A wide variety of board games and DVD's, not to mention cable TV gave all of us entertainment options. We ate all our meals at Rock Haul. A well stocked, large kitchen made meal preparation easy. We also appreciated the fact that all eleven of us could sit comfortably around the dining room table. If busy work and school schedules can be coordinated in 2017, we all voted to return to Rock Haul. We had a wonderful time!!!

Great for large groups
Our family of 9 stayed here in May of 2016. We found it clean and well-maintained. The weather was chillier than we hoped as there were light snow showers on 2 different days. There was plenty of seating around the dining room table for all of us. In fact, we didn't understand why there were so many dining room type chairs throughout the house to the point that it felt crowded. The arrangement of the living room was not conducive for conversations with the whole family but for the week we rearranged the furniture to suit our needs. We really enjoyed driving to Swallow Falls State Park and hiking the trails to see several different waterfalls. If you love ice cream, be sure to visit either Lakeside Creamery for quality hard serve or Saffitickers south of Oakland on Garrett Highway for inexpensive soft serve treats.

Great Stay at Rock Haul
The Rock Haul home was awesome! It was a great location with a beautiful view of the lake. Great for watching sunrises. The house was fully equipped with everything you needed: kitchen appliances, plenty of pots and pans, wifi, cable & dvds player, games, a balcony with furniture, and a fire pit. Overall, my family had a great time and we'd love to stay here again!
