Convenient location
The rental was great, perfect location and the thai food was delicious. There was a portable air conditioner in the bedroom which worked for me as i usually have a box fan, but the rental kept cool even during a 85-90 degree weekend. Super easy check in.

Bike trip and wine tasting
Great location for access to bike trails and wine tastings. There is amazing Thai food on the property as well as pizza and wine tasting. Huge parking lot available for bike trailers, boats, etc. One note - this is a second floor apartment above a restaurant but noise was not an issue as they close by 9:00. Very clean and contained all the necessities.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hawkins Farms. Our apartment was perfect for us. Super clean throughout and it had nice extras, beach towels, coffee beans, etc. we’d definitely stay there again!!

Weekend Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location was convenient between Traverse City and Suttons Bay and the property was just as advertised. The rental was lightly stocked but was clean and had all the essentials we needed and the hosts were responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

Very clean nice stay
The property was exactly as described and very comfortable. Great location for taking excursions around the bay. One thing, that they might not be aware of is the coffee maker is not functioning right. It wouldn't drip and backed up out of the filter. Might just need a good cleaning but other than that all was great!

Lovely honeymoon
We had a lovely honeymoon. This was a nice starting point for all of our day trips. The kitchen had the appliances we needed. However, the dishwasher was broken, so I wouldn’t count on that for your stay. Had a little mix up about our check-in, but Salve arrived pretty quickly when we reached her. She also made us delicious southwest egg rolls and a bottle of wine for our trouble! The furniture was all comfy. Plenty of closet space in the bedroom. It was nice to have a full length mirror for getting ready.

nice stay in Suttons Bay
We stayed in an upstairs apartment above a busy restaurant in a quaint barn like structure. The restaurant closed down by 9 so no issues with noise. The chef is amazing, check it out...Thai food is incredible. We got a chance to speak with owner a few times. Nice man! Bed is super comfy. The beach across the street is a big plus. Lots of rock hunting and swimming opportunities. If you are doing a lot of eating in, the kitchen is bare bones so bring what you need. There are bare basics. Overall a good stay with nice people. We spent most of our time off site, touring up the bay and into the surrounding area. It is a nice place to be to move up the bay and the coast a bit. Lovely scenery!

Great place to stay. Comfortable rooms. Equipped kitchen if you want to cook but no need. Great restaurant on site. Great restaurants near by. We plan to be back next summer.

Relaxing!
The room was very spacious and clean. There is a full kitchen living space and large bedroom. Came in town for a family reunion it was the perfect distance to everywhere we wanted to go. The area is beautiful!

great Accomodations and location
The apartment was very clean and spacious. Owner met us for registration and made us some delicious spring rolls when she noticed that we were tire and late getting in. Noise from their Thai restaurant below was very minimal and no problem at all. Location was centrally located to many wineries in the area

Best location for us
We loved visiting the winery. We also wanted to go to Traverse City. This property was the best location for us. One of my favorite wineries was only a 4-minute drive away. Close to both Travers City and Suttons Bay. The property was roomy for 2 people. Clean and comfortable. People at the restaurant and tasting room were really friendly. I would love to go back there again!

What a pleasant stay!
We booked a stay for our family of four and I’m so glad we did. The unit was clean, with a well appointed kitchen, air conditioner and plenty of towels and extra blankets. The on-site staff were all very pleasant. We enjoyed the little beach area, it was quiet and serene. We were busy during the day, but when returned at night, it was so nice to have Thai food, pizza and wine right downstairs. We never had a bad meal and enjoyed the Blue Rooster Riesling! I would happily recommend this unit to anyone!

Perfect Location
Nicely located between Traverse City and the many wineries, breweries, and distilleries on the Leelanau Peninsula. The apartment is very clean. Basic necessities provided in the kitchen (coffee maker w/coffee and filters, toaster, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, some dishes, and silverware). The portable a/c unit in the bedroom is a bit loud, but did the job to keep the room comfortable. The apartment suited our needs perfectly for a comfortable place to stay after a day of wine tasting, fine dining, beaching, shopping, and all the other wonderful things to do in the Traverse City/Suttons Bay area!

Unique place to stay
We booked this place because we were attending a wedding in Suttons Bay and it was very convenient to both the wedding venue and to the downtown area. It was nice to be located right across from the water and boat ramp as well. Having the restaurant below us was nice because we ate there twice (good pizza!). The unit itself was nice, clean, and surprisingly quiet given it is located off of a busy road and above a restaurant. The only downside was there was no thermostat to control the temperature, and it did get a little hot at times. There was a pedestal fan that helped and an additional air conditioner in the bedroom. Also, there were no wine glasses in the unit, which was ironic because it is located above a restaurant that does wine tasting as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and I would recommend this as an option for those visiting Suttons Bay.

We stayed here for 4 nights. We where doing wineries and breweries and this was a good location just outside Traverse city. Very clean and very nice host (Thai food was very yummy) loved the king size bed.We will stay again if we come back.

Great Location
We loved this semi-rural setting and its easy access to Traverse City, Sutton's Bay, and all the beauty of Leelanau County. Several wineries were just up Hilltop Rd or located a short drive away. The apartment was very comfortable and quiet, bed was comfy and bathroom/kitchen were modern and clean. The washer and dryer were conveniently located in the kitchen area. We aren't beach people, but the small beach across the road was pleasant if rocky. We hit a hot week so were very appreciative of the air conditioner in the bedroom. Didn't see much of our hosts but check in was fine and everyone was friendly. The kitchen could use a few additional amenities, but cooking utensils were sufficient for just the two of us. Not sure if we just didn't know how to access Netflix or if it was not offered. Adding that capability would be a big plus.

Excellent communication with owners, friendly and engaging. Rooms were spacious, clean and up to date. Plenty of parking for our boat trailer. Location is fabulous for boating, DNR launch across the street. Short drive to Torch Lake, Fish Town and others to explore different bodies of water. Traverse City and Suttons Bay short drive away for beaches and meandering. Will definitely return.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sutton’s Bay
Reunited with my best friends from college to explore Michigan wine country. We were so pleased with our VRBO choice! Convenient to all the wineries of the Leelanau Peninsula and right across the street from our own private beach. The apartment was spacious and plenty of room for the three of us. The kitchen was not as well-equipped as some rentals, but we didn’t plan on any cooking anyway. There was a market close by for snacks and bagels and it was so handy to have the restaurant right downstairs. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to the area.

Room was very clean, bed was pretty comfortable. One thing I would have liked to have known was that to get to room you had to walk through the hallway of the kitchen. Also description mentioned apartment was above wine room but was also over Thai to hen so the odor came up to the room.

The place was clean and plenty of room for 2 people but the air conditioner was only in the bedroom. We did not have a temperature control. We were told there would be chairs on the beach but we did not see them. Other than that it was clean and owner was ice but difficult to reach if any issues.

Fun Getaway
This place was spotless. Great location between Sutton’s Bay and Traverse City. Ample parking for our boat and trailer and the launch was right across the street. Washer and Dryer were great to have. The pizza and Thai place downstairs was yummy. Had a lovely time at Hawkins Cellar Farms tasting room as well. Kitchen had what we needed to cook breakfast. There is a fire pit on site which we took advantage of and enjoyed a quiet evening of wine and a fire. Hosts were very responsive. The bdrm is spacious, the king bed is very firm. We come to this area every year for a week and love it every time.

My husband and I stayed here for the 4th of July weekend. The apartment was clean and perfectly located between traverse city and Suttons bay. We loved the private beach across the street. We could see the fireworks from traverse city off in the distance. Rich was very nice and helpful when we checked in. The restaurant below was busy but you couldn’t hear any restaurant noise up in the apartment. The cons: I originally made reservations for 3 because I wasn’t sure if my daughter could get the time off from work to join us. The description clearly says sleeps 4 but we were charged the extra guest fee anyway. The owner said it was for extra linen and towels which I would have understood if we had over the number of guest the description said. The description clearly says “sleeps 4” but when I asked the owner to please explain the discrepancy in the description I got no response so after 2 attempts at reaching out I stopped trying. When I changed my reservation to 2 instead of 3 I got an immediate response and refund of the extra guest fee. I think I’m just wondering why the description doesn’t specifically say you will be charged for over 2 guests.

Awesome location
My husband and I stayed 7 nights in this property. It was very conveniently located just south of Suttons Bay and many wineries in the TC area. It was great to have our own place for a week. Luckily I had read that the water was well water and we brought our own water. The dishwasher was still broken, but that wasn't a problem because there were so many good restaurants that were open in Suttons Bay, We had to be careful coming in and out of the hallway to the apartment because there was often restaurant staff passing thru. However, they were always polite and tried to keep an eye out for us. We never heard noise from the restaurant or wine tasting below us in the evenings or at night. My only complaint was that the king bed was very hard. Overall, I would highly recommend this property.

Great Location and Room
Great location to stay right at the winery. Easy driving distance to downtown Traverse City. Room was clean, private, and quiet. I would recommend you staying here if you need a place close to Traverse City.

With a few improvements this could be a five star property. Wouldn’t take much to put in new coffee pot. Fix a shower fix the kitchen faucet that leaks at the base. Beautiful location

The apartment is great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach was terrific and private. The boat launch was convenient for kayaking. My only complaint was the dishwasher didn't work. But in the grand scheme of things that's minor to be sure. Everything else we needed was provided. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone.

We randomly booked at Hawkins Farm for a short stay after our wedding. We loved the location, near a boat launch for Lake Michigan and 5 minutes from a boat launch for Lake Leelanau. It was the perfect little getaway. The loft apartment was extremely clean. The Thai food and the wine/cider were amazing!
