Arrived to discover elevator out of service for the week and traveling with elderly mother to a second level condo. Then discovered the screened porch was holding several inches of water with no drainage. Took 6 days to evaporate and could not enjoy. Cable box in lock-out bedroom did not work (message on screen said “box not in service”) and no one addressed my online request for resolution. No tv to enjoy at bedtime for the week in that bedroom. Both TVs in bedrooms are ancient and small. A simple, inexpensive fix. No HDMI hook-up on either bedroom tv, or I could have made use of my Chromecast device and streamed thru an app (Netflix, HBO MAX or Hulu) to gain some tv access at bedtime. The picture on the tv in master was horrible. The tv in living area was ok, but small (with terrible sound quality) and not a smart tv and no DVD player. This wasn’t expected, and was not mentioned in the rental agreement, but for the price of the rental there should be better amenities. Champions pool was completely out of order ALL week. I understand it was out of their control, but no one informed us, offered a resolution or replied to my online message. We ended up paying $75 to use the Sea Trail VAC pool for the week (an unexpected expense as we chose and PAID more for this condo for the benefit of an on-site pool). The floors and carpets were dirty. After walking around briefly, the soles of my feet were black. The area rugs don’t seem like they would be conducive to a vacuum and had sand and dirt caked underneath. Had to wear flip flops the entire time indoors. The ice maker leaked water, which constantly froze the ice cubes into one huge hunk of ice. The brand new refrigerator in the lock-out bedroom was very loud (not due to an ice maker as there wasn’t one, but motor issue). The condo was very roomy and the kitchen was well equipped. We appreciated the stocking of a few starter supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, dish washer packets, liquid hand soap.). The leather living room furniture was comfortable and dining area nice. The dryer took forever and several cycles to dry our clothes. Despite the issues, we enjoyed our stay at Sunset, but will be looking for other lodging options for future vacations. Ironically, the owner of the unit we booked for September contacted me while i was in THIS unit to inform me of the current pool situation (expected to still be an issue in September) and offered to reimburse us for VAC pool expenses.
