Pros: great location; driveway got plowed right after a snow storm, which was key because it’s a pretty steep incline up to the cabin; and the kitchen is pretty well appointed. Cons: kitchen water pressure is very, very low. Almost unusable. Several linens and table cloths were either dirty or stained in a way that made us doubt their cleanliness; And finally: check-in procedures and interaction with the property management firm, particularly communications, were poor. The firm did not communicate that the one hour early check-in request was approved until 20 minutes after the requested time for entry. In addition, the firm charges a 25 fee for every hour requested, and applied the charge in this case despite their failure to communicate approval. Lastly, I received conflicting communications from no less than three different company representatives. All this to suggest: this property is one of many under their management; the management firm appears to be relatively large with multiple employees who evidently don’t have a solid coordination system in place leading to poor communications with the client, producing an image that is very, very impersonal and profit-seeking. I have avoided renting from property management companies in the past for largely these reasons, and this experience did nothing to dissuade me of that practice in the future. Unless I’m desperate and options are extremely limited, I will never rent from a management firm again.
