This is one of the oldest houses in Stratford, dating back to the 15th century when it was still a single house, so Shakespeare himself would likely have passed by it. Forty years ago, when I was a student, I would never have imagined that I would one day stay here, let alone bring my whole family, including our two dogs.
The cottage is quaint yet cosy, exactly as advertised. The internet was perfectly good for the limited use we needed, and the property was genuinely pet-friendly, which made a real difference for us. The location is excellent, right beside the police station and very central, with everything in Stratford-upon-Avon within easy walking distance.
It was also the perfect base for us to visit the Cotswolds during the day, while being able to enjoy Stratford’s local restaurants in the evening and have a drink or two without worrying about driving. The place felt very safe as well, with the police station just next door.
The car park is directly across the road and was extremely easy to use. I was slightly worried because I have a long car, but it was spacious and we always found a spot.
A very special place to stay, full of character and history. I will definitely consider Sykes Holiday Cottages for future stays in the UK.
