Excellent property for a ski/ snowboard trip to Stowe, just make sure you read the details. The proximity to Stowe Mountain, the size of the unit, ease of parking, cleanliness, and kitchen/laundry in the unit are all part of what makes this place great. In my opinion there are 2 main things that most who do not read the details will be disappointed with: there are very little amenities on hand other than what's in the unit. So if you need a hot tub, look elsewhere. Also, they are not joking about the music in the pub downstairs. Some nights it will end earlier, but most it's going til close to midnight. My son and I ski and ride so hard they by midnight we are gonna be out regardless of the noise so it worked for us. Our just play some nighttime music on your phone and you won't hear the noise. The kitchen could also use some more utensils, dishes, etc., so if you are going to eat/cook there a lot perhaps bring some disposables or a travel/camping set.

The amenities were awesome! I loved the area and it was so cute. We appreciate the cleanliness and everything about it. Cannot wait to stay there again. We even loved the pub below the apartment.

Pet area was very good. Kitchen set up was very nicely and the entire place was very clean. Only negatives were there was no where to sit and relax outside and the restaurant below the apartment played music loudly until 11 pm.

This place is fine, unless you want to sit on the couch or sleep. While it was clean, it was dated and the “couch” desperately needs replacing. Worst of all is the pub downstairs and the loud music, bass blaring from 8-midnight. It ruined our time here. Would never recommend to anyone as long as the pub is below.

While the check-in, proximity to downtown Stowe & the mountain rec trail and cleanliness are great, the fact that the apartment is above the famous Burt’s Irish pub could be an issue for those wanting to enjoy a restful night’s sleep. Once last call at midnight happens, expect another 45 minutes of loud music vibrating through the floorboards and the windows. If you’re game for easy access to a fun pub & drinks, then you’re in luck! Additionally, while I reported that the WiFi was not working on the day I checked in, nothing was done to rectify the situation for my 6 night stay….no TV…no computer. Lastly, if you look forward to a warm-hot shower for longer than 4 minutes don’t expect one here. The warm/hot water ran out every single day of my stay, whether it be an early morning shower or an evening one and I was solo, so no one else was sharing the water with me. Good luck in the middle of winter when a hot shower is a necessity to de-ice from a day on the mountain!! P.S. there are two sets of stairs to get up to the apartment, so if stairs are an issue for you, this may not be the best option for you.

Time to update the listing?

We love the location and the apartment - very cozy, comfy bed. Kitchen was not super-well fitted out. The couch (notorious from earlier reviews) is still there... But the big thing is that the famous Burt's Irish Pub has moved into the lower floor. It is no longer a quiet retreat in the evenings and the quiet after 10pm sign is a bit ironic. None of this would be a problem, except that it is not included in the property description, so our peaceful weekend away was ... not. I'd be very glad for screens in the windows to get a nice cross breeze. Super easy in and out, great parking and close to everything you'd need. Listing says it is on "1st floor" which is correct if you are European. If you have trouble with stairs, this isn't for you. All in all, great property - please update the listing so there aren't surprises!

What a location!

Shuttle literally outside of the apartment! Heating system can be better and couch was nearly dead. Needs new couch (thank god for blow up mattress!)

PERFECT SPACE FOR TWO PEOPLE

This was the perfect amount of space for 2 people. The space was very clean. We were above the Donkey Burger restaurant which did not open till around dinner time. They were playing music which did not bother us. This is a nice place to stay, and it is close to all the Stowe attractions.

Great little place

Centrally located to a lot of restaurants and things to do but the only complaints we had are that the music downstairs in the bar can be a little too loud and bassy at night until the bar closes around 10pm, and we could not figure out how to work the tv. It appeared as though the remote didn’t work, and it was only set to one station and you couldn’t change the channel.other than that we had a great time

Great Location

So we were a little hesitant with the place being right above the Blue Donkey…but when we realized they are only open 4-10 and are closed completely on Wednesdays and Thursdays that pretty much sealed the deal for us. If you know Stowe, this location is impossible to beat. Alchemist is walkable, Apres is walkable, 2 minutes to Idletyme, 5 minutes to Docs, 8 minutes to minutes to the mountain.

Perfect for 2

This is a great place for 2 people. Our teenage son (our 3rd person) had an inadequate bed for the first two nights. The pull-out couch was broken and could not be slept on (barely sat on) but we found an air mattress. Turned out it had a hole so he slept on the floor. Same with another air mattress they brought in the next day. Had to sleep on the floor. Finally the 3rd night they brought in an air mattress that stayed inflated. Vacasa has not yet responded to my many requests for partial reimbursement for the lack of a bed for our 3rd person for 2 nights. Additionally Vacasa would not respond to us about how to dispose of our garbage, recycling and compost which was piling up over our 9 day stay. Hours spent trying to get a response! King size bed is very comfortable. The AC is loud in the bedroom but without out it on its way too hot. Good location near bike path. Bar below is a good spot for a beer and shuts down by 10. Not too loud even when open.

Great location for skiing

The apartment was clean and cozy and had all the amenities you could want in a vrbo stay. I loved that it was dog friendly and so close to Stowe - so easy to get there by car or by the bus that stops almost right in front of the lot you park in. My one negative comment is not the VRBO’s fault but I feel it’s necessary to note and remind people searching that the location above the bar does matter. Most nights the music ended early but Saturday night the bartender FORGOT to turn the music off and it played literally all night and into the morning. I’m a New Yorker noise doesn’t really bother me but it did make the floor vibrate in addition to the noise of it. Need to know if you’re a sensitive sleeper. Otherwise would stay again.

we really enjoyed it. it was perfect for what we needed. loved having the park in the back for the dogs to run around and play. there is a huge fenced in tennis court that the dogs were able to run free. didn’t hear any noise from the bar.
