Great cabin with a nice sauna! Very well equipped and spacious. The only drawback is that the amenities on the website include "grill" but the "grill" is actually an outdoor griddle. We brought items to grill that would have been much better on a real gas or charcoal grill and were surprised to find a griddle.

Was told the night prior to our arrival that a lawn care person would be coming midweek weather permitting,no specific day/time .Since our trip was mon-fri, we had to anticipate a time they would arrive, we didn't care for the "staying on our toes" feeling it left us with.

We had a great week at the Cattail Chalet with family. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed, with nice touches like the sauna and fire pit. We spent a lot of time outside; kayaking, fishing right off the dock, and just relaxing by the lake. The kids were thrilled to catch fish, and we all enjoyed hearing the loons in the evenings. It was the perfect spot for a mix of fun and downtime together as a family.

Lovely getaway for our families! While I was concerned about the amount of kitchen items available, it really wasn't a big deal to pack a few extra spices. Cooking on the blackstone (first for me) was exciting as well! The lake was warm, and the kids enjoyed swimming and the boat toys. Unfortunately there was an abundance of lily pads near the dock so fishing and swimming was most successful out on the water. We loved the sauna after swimming and on the cool days rainy days. Close enough to Hayward for conveniences and tucked away on a gravel road for seclusion. Don't hesitate to book this one!

8 adults ages 50-86 enjoyed our annual reunion at the Lakeside Chalet. Host communication was excellent, check in and out went flawlessly and the chalet was clean and well furnished. Kitchen was adequately stocked but short of a few essentials such as a colander. Stairs to enter the chalet from the parking area were very steep and the parking situation was tight which the host had warned us about, but we managed. Lake was overgrown, as is usual toward the end of summer, which made swimming difficult from the shore so we swam off the kayaks. Toting the kayaks up and down to the water was a bit arduous-would be nice if there were a rack for them waterside. Needed to schlep adirondack chairs up to the deck to have enough so that all of us could sit out at once, then back down to the firepit which was also a bit of a bother. Lots of great dry wood for evening fires, though. A couple small side tables would have been useful for the times when all 8 of us wanted to be out there to drink or dine, so we bought some cheapie fold-ups in Spooner which helped..The weather was super hot during our stay so no one was up for trying out the beautiful new sauna but it would be simply great in the winter. Air conditioning was perfect in the house and the beds were the most comfortable of any we have encountered in many rentals.All in all a wonderful relaxing week

A must stay!!

When my family arrived, we could tell before we even went into the cottage it was a very well maintained. There was enough yard to play the cornhole game we brought along. The fire pit area was nice, however because of the rain we didnt get to sit by it until the last night we were there.The inside of the house was exceptionally clean! Even though the weather was cold and rainy we still had enough to do with the games and puzzles provided. Some of us had fun with the ping pong table!On the one nice day we did have we were able to use the petal boat and kayaks provided!This cottage by far was one of cleanest and nicest VRBOs my family has stayed at! A great vacation place for sure!!

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods

We had 10 people in our party stay at the cabin for the weekend. The cabin is beautiful and had everything we needed to make meals. It was a very cold weekend, but the cabin stayed nice and warm. Brad was very responsive with all our questions. We look forward to renting again!

Best trip with the family!

Went there with the whole family for thanksgiving. Everything was great. The house is beautiful from the outside and even better inside. It was clean (and warm) when we got there. We enjoyed some time with the fire pit, playing ping-pong, and watching some movies. Everything went smooth with the checkin and checkout. There was great communication all around. Definitely will go back in the future!

Perfect Space. Perfect Place.

Our group of 9 friends had the best time at the Cattail Chalet. The space was beautiful, new & very clean. We fit comfortably & had lots a sleeping options. The big windows & view of the lake were spectacular. We saw lots of wildlife, including swans & playful little otter. The welcome binder was filled with thorough instructions for the house & helpful suggestions for the area. Brad was very responsive to all communication. We would definitely rent this space again.

This place has it all!!!

Awesome place, five year olds loved it all the way up to the grand parents. Communication was great with the host. Place was in great condition. Caught tons of fish off the dock and some larger bass in the canoe.

Family get away

My husband and in law stayed here for a little lake house trip and we enjoyed our trip very much! We spent a couple days kayaking/canoeing and we brought tubes and tied off the dock and floated for several hours. It was so relaxing! We also had a couple bonfires. The house set up was awesome. We had plenty of space for 6 adults with room to spare. Brad was very easy to communicate with!

Wonderful Week

We had a very nice stay! We had our 4 adult boys and their girlfriends staying with us for our annual family cabin trip. Plenty of room for meal prep and eating. We enjoyed the kayaks and the paddleboat. We did wish for an extra set of bedding two adults men sharing a queen bed is crowded so it would have been nice to have an extra sheet and blanket to use for the couch. That did not hinder our fun, though! Thanks Brad!

Summer Trip

Our stay was a lot of fun! The cabin accommodates a large group very well and had everything we needed. We had fun catching fish, kayaking, canoeing and pedaling out on the pedal boat. The fire pit fit us all comfortably as well. The towns of Hayward and Stone Lake are close by and we took in a festival, lumberjack show and visited some great coffee shops and breweries. Plenty to keep us busy! Thanks Brad for a wonderful time!!

2024 Family Gathering

We had an awesome time at this wonderful cabin. It was spacious, very clean and the property manager was phenomenal to work with. The cabin was so lovely we ended up not doing as many outings as we originally planned just so we could hang out at the cabin and play games, table tennis, and enjoy the lake.
