"The hotel is an attractive building set in extensive grounds, with an interesting woodland walk. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, there were a few areas where the guest experience could be improved. It took us quite a while to find our room because the receptionist did not give us complete directions, and the signage did not direct guests to the second lift. "Stained carpet, zero WiFi coverage (it worked in reception for the staff) if you are on EE mobile there is zero mobile coverage so big problem. maintenance crew came ti the room and said yes the WiFi issue is a known problem!! So why not fix it! They seem to only be interested in weddings and groups. I was on my own and turned away from restaurant (it was half empty) and told come back in 45 minutes. Staff completely disinterested."

"Lovely old building and themed rooms. We were allocated the China room as we told the hotel ahead of time we were celebrating our Sapphire wedding anniversary so it was lovely that it was all blue. My only criticism was that in hindsight, it was a very expensive hotel with no reception, no spa (we booked into the orange grove for treatments but assumed it was a proper spa with swimming pool only to find it was just rooms adjacent to the hotel.) £210 per night was a tad over the top just for a...
