"The Prince Consort is a nice local pub which also has rooms for bed and breakfast. I enjoyed the full English breakfast, which included very good quality bacon and sausages and all the usual ingredients. The coffee was especially delicious. I was visiting for a family funeral which was catered for there too. The buffet for the wake was also very good."

"We came with our 3 year old and 6 year old just for an overnight stay as we had visited Longleat. The hosts were really lovely and we had a little continental breakfast for the next morning with fresh milk and juice in the fridge. The room was spacious with a king sized bed and 2 x singles. Bathroom was spacious with great shower. Outside is a little courtyard plenty of space for the kids to run around. Nice and clean and spacious. Rooms finished to a high standard. "Wir haben das Hotel extra gebucht, weil es auch ein Restaurant hat. Leider schloss dies schon um 16:00, so dass es nicht möglich war dort das Abendessen einzunehmen. Wir mussten dann mit dem Auto nach Salisbury (10 Minuten) fahren, da das Hotel nicht zentral liegt. Beim Buchen war das nicht ersichtlich. Die jungen Frauen im Hotel waren sehr nett, aber der Besitzer ungehalten und unfreundlich. Das Zimmer war herzig. Der Temperaturregler der Dusche funktionierte aber nicht und wir duschten kalt....

Unfortunately this was not the case. My husband had the full English, but the black sausage was so dried out that when he put his fork in it it broke into tiny pieces (inedible). "Fabulous hosts and wonderful breakfast. Spotlessly clean throughout - slightly noisy traffic at rush hour, but so quiet at night. "

"The rooms are cleaned and maintained to a very high standard and balance the picturesque features of the cottages with modern amenities - a kettle with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and milk-alternatives provided, a small TV (as if you want to stay inside when the New Forest is minutes away on foot!) WiFi and pristine en suite. The bed was very comfortable, with lots of big, soft pillows to suit anyone's sleeping habits, and nice soft towels and quality soaps were provided. I met with friends...

"We were greeted by our host who had kindly allowed us to deposit our luggage ahead of moving into the cottage. The cottage itself is cosy and well appointed with an Aga stove in the kitchen that keeps the cottage warm. It has a small but well kept garden with table and chairs for outside dining if desired. Also parking for two cars. We took some wonderful trips in the area where many of the villages have thatched cottages. There is a post office and village shop close by and local pubs within...
