Just Perfect
Wonderful, clean and cozy. Provided everything we needed. The view was amazing. We wished the weather was warmer so we could sit on the front deck and enjoy the view more. Overall, a great experience, thank you!

Comfortable and Convenient!
We stayed here while completing a little weekend fieldwork in a nearby forest. The property was easy to find and all of the communication with the hosts was very clear. The property itself is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Fully stocked kitchen, smart TV, very comfy bed after a long day of hiking, and the hosts had extra snacks waiting. My only complaint was that the hot water heater is tiny! We were warned ahead of time so it didn't come as a surprise, and I'm sure it's a necessary evil with the size of the cabin. Overall a great place, and I'd love to stay here again the next time I'm working in the area.

Litttle hiking getaway
This was a great place to stay! Cozy, clean and quiet. Everything was real easy to find and figure out. The weather wasnt the best while I was there, so extra grateful for the beautiful view and comfortable lodgings. I highly recommend. It is conveniently located to many hiking trails. The Columbia River gorge is just so stunning.

Wonderful, Relaxing Weekend!
We stayed for two nights this trip. We had a delightful first stay many months ago and had an opportunity to come back! Libby and Craig are delightful hosts, and very accommodating. We look forward to more stays at the Mt. Defiance Cabin!

Short Getaway
Small but nice layout so it felt spacious. Full kitchen which is always important to me. (No dishwasher if that matters to you..it didn’t to us). Clean and no scented candles or fake scents which give me headaches. Lots of windows to enjoy the beautiful view. Bright and clean and quick communication with the hosts. A delightful couple of days.

Perfect Getaway
My wife and I have stayed here 6 or so times in the past 3 years. We absolutely love the quiet location that is just a couple minutes from town, the spotlessly clean house inside and out, the high quality bed and linens, and all the personal touches Libby does to make it stay awesome. Highly recommend!!

A Great Stay
Let’s start with a list of all things we disliked about this property. Now that we got that out of the way, let’s move on to the things that were great: - Location. The property was quiet and out of the way, but easy to find, and within walking distance of Stevenson. The town has a market, a couple of nice places to eat, and some historical markers to take in, along with great windsurfing opportunities for those into the sport. The scenery at and leading to the property was beautiful, even in dreary fall weather. - Cleanliness. The cabin and property were immaculately clean throughout. - Layout. The cabin was cozy and well-furnished. It was clear the owners put effort into anticipating visitors’ needs. To that end, there were handy laminated instructions to help explain the Roku TV, the heater, etc. Furnishings. The bed, couch, fridge, stove, microwave, Keurig machine, etc were all in great shape and in good working order. We also had a nice welcome bucket waiting for us, with snacks and a coupon for a beer tasting in nearby Carson which was well worth the quick drive. We would absolutely stay here again, and we encourage anyone considering it to book now. Overall a great value and a relaxing stay.

Cozy place for a short stay
The place has the cozy feel of a small cabin. Quiet and convenient spot for exploring the Gorge. The bed was worn and could use an update. Otherwise a comfortable stay.

The mattresses are new and we cover them with a 3" gel form mattress pad. That makes the bed softer and may have not been the right firmness for you. If you ever decide to try us again, please request we remove the gel foam pad for a firmer mattress. Have a great fall! Libby & Craig

Beautiful & Cozy Spot
Libby & Craig are kind and professional. The cabin is adorable, modern on the inside, and the place is quiet with a pretty view of the mountains. I enjoyed drinking my coffee and my wine on the front porch. I slept so well, and I haven't slept that good in a long time. Bed was comfy, bathroom was clean and completely functional, and I'm so happy that they had a Keurig because I'm such a coffee person! We utilized the kitchen and thoroughly cleaned up. Greeted by a care bowl of snacks and a card at check-in - so sweet. We enjoyed eating at Big River Grill in the little town; seriously, the kindest and most welcoming and hospitable people at that local restaurant (delicious food!). The drive and views throughout Stevenson are breathtaking. The wedding we attended was at Wind Mountain Ranch (Gorge-ous weddings). Overall, a great trip, our first time out west. Phenomenal place to stay. Libby notified us a week in advance of a county-wide scheduled power outage that took place the night before we left, after the wedding. We were asleep the entire time it happened, so we were fine. Libby & Craig provided us with an LED lamp, and I was lucky to run into Craig and meet him when I took a morning walk about the property. I'm saving their cabin to possibly stay again in the future because my husband and I are planning a road trip next year to visit South Dakota, Montana, Colorado, and yes, Washington state! Comfy and cozy stay; attentive owners. Highly recommend.

Love this cabin!
The cabin was so clean and stocked with everything we needed and then some! The basket of treats was an extra and wonderful surprise. Communication with the hosts was great, the location was amazing as was the view. My mom and I had a wonderful time and knowing we had the cabin to come back to after a long day of site seeing was comforting. Thank you!

Wonderful getaway

Excellent Experience!
Wonderful location with great views and located in a quaint town with friendly people, great food and adorable shops. Hosts were top notch and the accommodations were excellent! Anything you may have needed, they had it. Clean home and comfy bed. Will definitely be back again!

Hi, we loved staying in Mt Defiance cabin. ENjoyed evenings looking at the mountain and river views whilst having bbq. Accomadation is cosy, bed was comfy and everything we needed was supplied. I would recommend to anyone that wants to have a short peaceful get a way.

Great cabin
This cabin is in a great location & is everything you could want for a multiple night stay. Thank you so much for the nice note & snacks you left for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a place to stay outside of Portland & wanting to be close to the beautiful Columbia River Gorge or Mt. Hood. It was perfect for that.

Cute place with a nice view
Property very cute and clean. Ideal for 2 people. It had everything that was needed along with a great reclining sofa. It was nice sitting on the deck and patio after a long day of hiking! The welcome package was a very nice touch. Stevenson is a cute town and the gorge is unbelievable!

Relaxation at its finest ..
We checked in a little later then we wanted to, but we did some sightseeing on the way in, as this was the last stay on our honeymoon. We got to the cabin, got in an settled and went to bed.. The next morning we woke up and the view was amazing!!! We spent the day around the cabin, did a load of laundry at the laundromat next to A & J's grocery store ( best store ever ! everyone was so friendly). The cabin was very clean, had everything you needed, the hosts left us a little congratulations card and bowl of snacks, This was the most relaxed we had been in a long time.. We love this lil getaway

Columbia River Gorgo
Clean, comfy bed, quiet and everything a couple could want. We didn’t cook but everything you need for cooking was there. Great location for visiting the Gorge, the beach or The Dalles. We went to Cannon Beach and visited the Ecala State Park. Best beach in the state. The Oregon people were very friendly and helpful. Great value here.

Fabulous Getaway
Perfect. The weather was hot & sunny with amazing star gazing and moon rise with cooler evening temps. The views are fantastic and lots of wildlife out & about too. The cabin is incredibly comfortable and the decor is upscale and tranquil. Temperature control is awesome & kept the cabin cool enough in the heat. Kitchen is nicely furnished with everything needed if you bring your own food & do some cooking. The BBQ was great & we used it both nights. The king bed has an incredible mattress that feels like it hugs your body perfectly. The bathroom & shower are just right. We spent most of our time outdoors relaxing in the yard or on the deck. Meteor's and shooting stars were an amazing show and the moonlight on the river was spectacular. TV was enjoyed minimally, but it was nice to have it & be able to stream shows & music. The owner's ensure you can begin to enjoy yourself and relax from the moment you arrive. The snack & beverage gift basket was a treat for sure! We are already looking at our calendar for availability for the next visit.

Honeymoon getaway
This place was truly wonderful! It was more than we were expecting. Beautiful, clean and welcoming. It has everything you could want in a gorgeous setting. Deer, turkey and little critters entertained us daily. Close to the small town of Stevenson where you can shop for groceries and just walk down the street and enjoy the quaint town. Very relaxing overall. We plan on returning again. Craig and Libby are wonderful hosts! Ron and Debbie

Beautiful and relaxing
We enjoyed our short three night stay at the Mt. Defiance cabin. The view from the front porch deck was spectacular. We enjoyed watching a deer munch on grass on our very first evening sitting out. The cabin is small, but has plenty of space for two people, however, weather permitting, the front porch and the side patio are the places to hangout and enjoy the surroundings. Inside the cabin, the kitchen supplies were much appreciated, especially the very generous snack basket. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals. The bedroom was quiet overnight and the king bed very comfortable. On my wish list, small nightstands with drawers would be nice. The closet space was good, but there was no place for non hanging items. The bathroom has a shower but no tub. Although the hot water tank is small, there is sufficient hot water for two quick showers. Just don't linger in the shower, get in, get washed and get out and you'll be fine. Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy your beautiful cabin and surroundings.

New cabin and furnishings with gorgeous view
Libby was extremely helpful with everything. The cabin was very well stocked and clean. Our stay there helped make our trip to Columbia River Gorge country easy and enjoyable!

Wonderful Columbia River Vacation!
Our stay at Mount Defiance cabin in Stevenson, Washington was perfect! The cabin was sparkling clean, very comfortable and well stocked. Towels and linens were of good quality. Everything was exactly as pictured on-line. Thank you to our hosts for providing many kitchen and bathroom necessities, along with a lovely basket of treats, to make our stay very convenient and comfortable. The outdoor porch and patio area with grill were fantastic! We grilled/cooked dinner on each of the four nights of our stay which we preferred (and found to be very relaxing) after our day trips of hiking and visiting waterfalls and wineries. This would be our number one choice should we ever be back to this area in the future!
