Beautiful Kenai River Views

Views and access to fishing are spectacular. The property grounds and unit were well maintained and felt like a well loved cabin. If you are looking to stay on the Kenai and are ok being about 10 to 20 minutes from town/fishing pull-ins….then it’s the perfect setting. We loved it. Extremely quiet.

Enjoyable Stay

Took a chance on a location we have not stayed before. Ron and his wife were wonderful hosts. If you are looking for a quiet place away from chaos in Soldotna during peak season this is the place to go.

Work vacation

A piece of heaven on the Kenai

This trip was our second stay at Eagles Nest and we enjoyed it even more the second time around. We stayed in 2016 and again this year. The owners have made so many improvements including an awesome fire pit pavilion that is mosquito proof and can seat two dozen people comfortably. WOW. It was amazing. Ron is so attentive and cares for the property so well! I swear it was spotless. My wife was so impressed with how clean it was. Thanks to Ron and Katya for another great stay. See you again soon!

10/10 would book again!

This is one Alaskan lodge you don't want to pass up! Ron & Katya have been outstanding hosts and the property has fit all needs! We were in a interesting situation needing to quickly last minute find a stay for our workers and Ron & Katya made that happen. They have gone above and beyond to ensure the crew is well taken care of. It has made this a very enjoyable stay for the crew! 10/10 would recommend you check this property out for your next Sterling stay!

Loves our stay!

Ron is a great host! He met us upon arrival to show us around the property. The bears den was comfortable and had everything we could have needed. Down to laundry detergent. There were poles available to fish off the docks on the property. He even helped coordinate an excursion for us. Thank you for making our anniversary trip so enjoyable!

Best fishing on the Kenai

From the moment I booked our reservation at our perfect little Bear Den our host Ron was incredibly helpful.. His knowledge of the area allowed us the best possible experience in this fishing mecca of Alaska. And our best catching ended up being right in front of us off his docks with his expertise in a new technique! The accommodations were perfect with everything we could possibly need...and then some! I hope to return again and spend more time exploring this amazing area!

Wanna Be Alaskan! But always a Floridian!

Can’t say enough… we loved this little cabin! Everything you need to reset and relax. Beautifully well kept grounds with so many thoughtful amenities. Well appointed kitchen and cabin that is exceptionally clean. Beautiful view of the Kenai river front with eagles flying by every single night. Multiple fire pits to gather around after your day’s adventures. Close to travel to many main points of interest or just completely unwind. Incredible host who truly takes pride in his property and was so helpful with our inquiries about our daily adventures. Ron you’re truly one of a kind and we were so happy to have meet you and stayed at your little cabin. Kevin, Queen Victoria and Caleb.

Beautiful property and awesome hosts!

My wife and I rented the Bear's Den for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Ron was awesome and helpful with whatever was needed. The area by the water was great, we didn't want to leave. Would love to come back again!

Beautiful property and exceptional host!

My husband, 1 year old son and I had the best time here. The condo not only had everything we needed and more, it was very clean, access to fishing and various firepits, but the host Ron was absolutely exceptional. He helped my husband and I with fishing tips, equipment and locations on the Kenai River. His friendliness was contagious. We will absolutely come back here again and recommend to friends that visit Sterling. 5+ STARS!

Amazing Vacation!

I can't say enough about the Eagles Eye Property. We rented the Bear's Den for my husband and I, plus our two teens and the Wolve's Den for my FiL. Prior to the trip, he was very communicative and answered all of our questions immediately any time we contacted him. He also set up all of our fishing excursions with outstanding outfitters in advance of our trip. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Ron provided us a personal tour of the property, showing us all the amenities available which included the private fishing docks and fishing equipment, the numerous firepits and sitting areas, the horseshoe pits, and the newly constructed pavillion. Ron also showed us the Outfitters Shed that contained waders, fishing equipment, and ice chests for our excursions. The house was fully equipped and very comfortable (loved the bed). The fish cleaning area and the full size freezer were a godsend to process the fish we caught. We plan to book with him again and make this a regular trip for our family. Thanks, Ron!

A Perfect Alaskan Experience

Where to begin! I start by simply saying that our stay at Ron's Property at Sterling, AK was perfect. I used that word very carefully. Let me explain: I am an experienced VRBO user, this is exclusively how I travel these days, where I take my family of four out three times a year. I must say this was a very unusual and unique experience. First, I typically do no prefer host to be present at the property, here that was the case. But it was an extraordinary positive experience. From the moment we arrived Ron greeted us like a old family member. Showed his whole property around, gave me tips abour how to spend the next 7 days with my family. Second, Ron's home is by the Kenai River, and he let me borrow fishing rods and other necessary equipment for my whole family! I am not a fisherman, but Ron essentially taught us how to fish in the River! Using Ron's tips we booked multiple fly-in fishing trips (Talon Air, highly recommended) where we caught more than 35 pounds of Sock-eye Salmon. This was an unforgettable experience for my family.. Our girls travel a lot, and it is rare to hear them mention that "dad, we like to come back here!" This is music to my ears! They enjoy the bunk bed and the open area in front. They also enjoyed marshmellows by the fire right in front of the apartment! Ron also helped me freeze our catch in his freezer and even packed the vac-sealed fish in a box for us to take home. This is superior service from a host! I think my wife K and I made a new friend! I am sure to come back again soon!

Perfect location with fantastic accommodations!!

The owner of the property exceeded our expectations in every way. Ron's knowledge of the area and contacts in the community made booking those last minute fishing trips a breeze. Additionally, the onsite outfitter equipment room provided those odds and ends that we never even thought to bring. The accommodations were well stocked and very comfortable. Cooking fresh salmon over an open fire while sitting by the river is about as perfect as it can get. Thanks again for making a great vacation even better!!!

Absolutely amazing

The property was stunning, with seating overlooking the river and great access for fishing. Everything we needed for a relaxing trip was provided in the apartment, from kitchenware to a washer and dryer (a real plus for us). Ron was so friendly and helpful, giving us advice on where the best fishing was and areas to explore as we made our way back to Anchorage. Next time we’re in Sterling, we’ll be sure to come back to this absolutely amazing property and look forward to visiting with Ron again!

Great property wonderful location

We stayed in the Bears Den and wolf den (bunk house), which was perfect for our teenage boys. Wonderful view of the river, great platforms for fishing and fishing equipment was provided by Ron which was great. The fishing at the property was a little slow while we there (timing) but Ron told us spots to go to catch fish. Ron really knows the area and is a great host! Can't wait to get back to the area and stay again.

Surpassed our expectations!

Secluded enough to feel "away from it all" yet centrally located to everything. The only interactions we had while on this property was with Ron to make sure we had everything we needed and he went above and beyond to make sure we did. I've only been away two days but already missing that morning cup of coffee on the bench swing overlooking the river and the evening gathering around the fire pit next to the fishing docks. Ron (owner) and his wife live on the property and all their attention to detail from the rooms to the landscaping, the horseshoe pit to the currently underway indoor fire pit and all around the property really give it an authentic feel. This time was a guys trip, but I'm already looking forward to bringing my wife and kids up here soon. Thanks for having us Ron & Katya!!

Great place to stay for your stay in Alaska

The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel very comfortable and enjoy our stay. The cabin was outstanding and top notch. Easy to find and not far from the town of Soldotna. Ron even hooked us up on charter to go deep sea fishing and we all caught our limit. Highly recommend staying here.
