Perfect for a big group!

We had a big group and wanted easy access to the mountain, this was the perfect place to stay. The house was amazing, equipped with everything we could need and more. The whole group had a great time & Lara was extremely helpful leading up to our stay!

Great House

first time springtime skiing but it turned out fantastic. even on warm days the slopes were good. the house has everything a large group needs. plenty of room for eveyone and plenty to do for all ages

Family Ski Trip

We stayed at this house in 2013 and loved it then. We loved it even more with the beautiful updates and remodeling. The downstairs area has added a movie theater along with bunk rooms that were great for our grown kids. The house was spacious and offered so many extra amenities not normally found in a rental. Highly recommend for a large group!

Perfect For Large Family

Our family of 16 stayed at Edelweiss from Feb. 14-19. We enjoyed all the spaces in the house...the Entertainment room was a big hit with our grandsons...the pool room/bar area was great for the adults in our party...the hot tub was perfect at the end of a ski day...the open family floor with kitchen/dining/living room and tv room with massage chair was always in use...ski equipment room was a plus! We used all 7 bedrooms and our grandsons loved the bottom floor bunk room. What a great house. Perfect for large families. We rented an SUV and drove it out less than a block away to drop off ski equipment at the thunderhead lift or some in our party just walked down the hill out the back door to thunderhead. I highly recommend this VRBO.

NYE Ski/Snowboarding Trip

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! There was suppose to be 14 of us but due to the Southwest Airline debacle we were delayed 3 days getting out to Steamboat and our group shrunk to 11. Lara helped us every step of the way. Ski in/out was fantastic. The kitchen is fully equipped to do some serious cooking. The fireplace was perfect to unwind with a glass of wine. The beds in all the bedrooms were comfortable. The basement was great for watching football in the theater room, playing pool and spinning on the peloton in the workout room. We had Chef Damon prepare us a fabulous dinner on NYE. Lara is absolutely the best, she helped me plan a fantastic vacation. Everything about the house is perfect for large families & friends We look forward to going back.

Owners were wildly accommodating and communicated consistently. The home was exactly as depicted and the location was perfect (a 90 second ski / walk to the Thunderhead lift), and 8 minute Uber to Main Street. Plenty of room for our group of ten adults and would absolutely return.

Family Reunion/Birthday Celebration

We had a wonderful stay at Alpenrose Chalet, celebrating our mother's 85th birthday with 3 generations of our family. The house accommodated everyone with comfortable spaces to sleep, gather for group activities and meals, and find a quiet spot to read, work, nap, etc. The house was well stocked with linens, dishes, cooking supplies -- everything we needed! The owners were very helpful in answering our questions about the house prior to our stay and the caretaker did a wonderful job of managing ANYTHING that came up during our stay (including a great walkthrough of the house). The location is the perfect combination of easy access to the mountain and town but also secluded enough that you feel you have your own space in a gorgeous bit of nature! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us and making this special event so memorable!

Big house, lots of room

Our 2-family group of adults (8 total) were able to spread out in the many comfy bedrooms. We also enjoyed cooking together in the spacious kitchen. Huge fridge! Gourmet 6-burner gas stove. Lilacs in bloom in the back. Two decks. Theater room downstairs a big plus--where we all watched the Warriors win the NBA title. Thanks Rusty and Lara!

Family vacation

We had a wonderful week in this house. We are a family of 12, 6 children ages 5 mos to 14, plus a nanny. Everyone had sufficient privacy, more beds than we needed, and wonderful space for together time. The ski in/ski out was a nice feature.

Our stay

The place was not in top condition. The property owner mentioned that the property was going into a major renovation. Overall, it was OK but not as nice as we expected. The biggest problem was the windows and the shades did not open properly. The second biggest problem was the lack of nice wineglasses and kitchen cooking equipment. The third biggest problem was it's location was too close to the ski operations center. Had we not paid top dollar, we would have been mostly fine with these issues. However, we did pay top dollar!!

Great spot

Excellent management and communication throughout. Probably the best managed rental I’ve experienced. Good location though we like to go for quick walks through neighborhoods in the evenings and this isn’t too walkable because it’s on a small culdesac type of thing and the road leading to it is winding and a little dicey to walk on. UNREAL location for skiing, wish we stayed here during ski season. House is about to undergo a gigantic remodel, we will try to stay here again in the future to see how it turns out. Family Vacation

Great location, plenty of room for 15 of us . Pool table was a bonus, dining room and kitchen was perfect. Meeting for coffee every morning on the back deck was a great start to every day.

The best

Friends rent a ski house every year at a different resort, and this is one of, if not the, best houses we have ever rented. The house has the ideal location with ski in/out, a spacious layout, the best stocked kitchen I’ve seen, and the most communicative and helpful owner/manager. This house is a winner!

Steamboat Getaway

We just spent 7 days at this home with 4 families. What a treat. We loved the house. Beautiful setting. The home sits right off the ski hill and is one of the highest locations you can find on the mountain. I would imagine during ski season it would be terrific. We were there in the summer, so we went for some great hikes right outside of our back door. The house is very large and had plenty of room for our 16 people. Our kids (ages 11-18) really enjoyed the downstairs with the hot tub, pool table and theatre. The adults enjoyed hanging out on the patio and deck, relaxing and taking in the fantastic views. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious with very nice linens. The owners, Laura and Sam were very pleasant and easy to work with. Their local management team was also great and very responsive. All-in-all a 5 star experience. We will definitely come back to this home again. - Chris

Great Stay!

Lovely, spacious home...great for a large group. And, extremely well-supplied!! The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 star overall was that there are areas of maintenance needed (mostly, windows and shades). We were told, however, that there will be a major renovation soon. The stairs and high windows (safety factor) were a bit challenging for us, with having two toddlers in our family. But, overall, had a great stay at the Edelweiss Chalet. The views are stunning!!
