Great property!

The property has fantastic views and it was great to sit outdoors and enjoy the fantastic views. Kitchen had tons of appliances. Overall the property was clean. There isn't a lot of restaurants/stores in 15-20mins radius so better to bring your own food. One thing we didn't like that although the property charges a high host/cleaning fee it comes with a long list of cleaning and tidying up tasks before checking-out. These are sent via email. It is well known that nobody likes such practices and the host should revisit this area.

Awesome property

The house is perfect in every way. It was 4 adults and 3 children. The bunkroom was perfect for the kids. The beds are comfy and the kitchen is fully loaded. We had everything we needed and MORE! Kayaking, beachcombing, sitting and enjoying the view ❤️

Pluses and minuses but mostly great

Pluses of this property: It is clean, well-cared for, smells good, and The Location! Waking up to that view of the water was incredible. The queen beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked, and the barbecue works well. It's bright and beautiful, and I think it would be a beautiful place to stay as the leaves are turning in the Fall or during a Winter storm. We enjoyed the kayaks - it's a gentle area of the Sound to paddle. We saw Orcas from the patio! A mama and three babies swam and played their way past us twice! It's quiet, with an exception... Minuses: Big hidden fees. My 3 day stay cost more than 50% over the rental cost. The bunk beds are very noisy, and the bedrooms are small, so the bunk room is a very tight squeeze. There is a live outdoor music venue next door (they stopped playing about 9:30). There are no window coverings for the big east-facing windows, and there's no A/C, so the sun heats the house up early in the day. It was hot and stuffy in the bedrooms (it was only in the low 80's outside) but the fans helped and there are enough for each bedroom. I personally wouldn't stay here during a hot stretch - I grew up in Western Washington visiting various parts of Puget Sound and lived in Seattle, and this is the least windy spot I've ever been to. The lack of wind is mostly a plus, but not when it comes to cooling down the house. With all of that said, I would definitely stay here again - it's a breath of fresh air!

Perfect getaway

We enjoyed our stay so much! Beautiful location on the water was just what we were looking for to relax and visit, play games, eat good food, and explore the area. Bunk beds are small for a 20 yo kid, but other than that, the house worked well for us. Easy to find, and check in was efficient (online). Not a lot of places to walk except for beach when tide was out - we did and enjoyed.

Great for families

The house was very clean and a great setup for families. We played lawn games and enjoyed water sports during our stay. The firepit was great for hot dogs and smores and keeping warm in cozy chairs. The view was fantastic and you can tell the owners really care about people enjoying their time there. We would definitely come back again. Thanks for the fun memories!

No Problems - Everything We Needed

Property was as described in the ad. We were very comfortable with 6 adults in the house for 3 nights. Access to the water was easy and the kayaks and paddleboard got plenty of use by us. Not a ton of boat traffic so even beginners felt comfortable out on the water. When the other side of the family visits us in Seattle, we'll definitely consider staying here again.

Family Time

We spent 3 nights here August. Grandparents, kids and grandkids spent time at the house. The house has a great space for family time. With grandkids, the house was perfect for us. The kitchen is well stocked. We did bring a bag of ice. Iam glad we did. The WIFI is excellent. Cell service from Allyn until the wifi was on at the house was one to zero bars. Lots to watch on TV. The grandkids liked that. It was August so, lots of bees. We did not use the kayaks, taking them up and down the stairs was to much work for us :) We enjoyed our time here.

Weekend getaway

The house was just like the photos!! We were a group of two families with 4 children and a new born baby. The kids loved that they were able to all stay in the one room with the double bunk beds and we were lucky enough that there wasn't a fireban so we got to enjoy the outdoor firepit. It was also great that there were kayaks and a paddle board (along with life jackets) for us to get on the water. Really enjoyed our stay and would definately come back.

Week Away!

Pickering Passage exceeded our expectations and was the perfect spot for our week away. Our group was two families, each with two kids ages 11 and 8. The house was so spacious for our large and busy group, the queen beds were comfortable and the middle bunk room was excellent for the kids. This was a super hot week and we were grateful to have the water right outside, spent lots of time splashing around and kayaking. We also took a great hike in the Olympics, grabbed ice cream in Hoodsport and oysters and clams from Taylor Shellfish, and got delicious morning pastries from the Olympic Bakery twice! The view from the house was absolutely stunning and we enjoyed dinners outside plus s’mores. A truly magical spot. Thank you!

Quiet cottage on calm waterway

Our family gathered together for a week to enjoy a peaceful retreat! We enjoyed the access of water with kayaks available and spent many hours lounging out front watching Seahawks fly by and seal roll through the water. We loved the option to play in the backyard. The back bedrooms stayed fairly cool in back with windows open. We loved the open space to gather for meals and card games inside and outdoors!

Quite fun place to stay

The house location is perfect for a wonderful view, and the neighborhood is quiet. The appliances, pots and pans as well as all the other equipment are very nice. Owner told me the water is surprisingly warm but it was not. We did find a park about 30 minutes away where the water was warmer and swimming was possible. The beds are really hard; if you like that then you are set! To me it was like sleeping on the floor, thus the 4 stars. My daughter and her husband found they couldn't use the queen-sized bed because of all squeaking with every move and ended up sleeping in the bunkbeds with the kids. It was hard to find some of the things we needed. Extra linen is in one of the bedrooms not the laundry room as would be expected. And there are very few games to play that have all the needed parts, so bring your own! We enjoyed our stay and think others will too!

Everything we needed and more!!

My family and I spent 3 days at the house. We had an amazing time!! The house was fully equipped with everything we needed from cooking tools to shampoo. Having the outdoor tools for games and water adventures, made each day a blast!! We especially loved our evenings around the fire pit!! S’mores never tasted so good since we had that amazing view to look at! Thanks you for allowing us to enjoy such a great time with family.
