The Heat/AC unit was abnormally loud. But the rest of the stay was as expected. Peaceful and extremely friendly place to stay.

Was disappointed that the restaurant was closed. We couldn’t use the pool or sauna. So was happy about that. We should have gotten a discount. We didn’t get use the resort!!

The front desk Diane was amazing lived up to the NFLD charm and friendliness that you hear about. Joe was exceptional as well and always smiling. So nice to go to to place where they learn your name and have a conversation with you. The continental breakfast at the Cove excellent!!

Although it is a lovely property there were no available amenities for us at resort. 1. On check-in we were given wrong directions to nearest community 2. We requested to rent paddle boards at 3 in the afternoon and were told they guide wasn't available till early evening and the guide would contact us. We were called 6:45 and initally told the guide was not available. A few minutes later we were called and told we could go at 7:30. At this point we felt it was too late. 3. We asked if we could use the Spa in the evening and were told yes. When we returned from supper we were told the nordic Spa wasnt available at that time but that they would call us. Finally at 8:45 in the evening we decided to go down to pool as we had no call regarding the Nordic SPA.The worker at the from desk informed us the pool was closed at 9pm but would permit us to go in for a few minutes. We went to area only to discover that no one was using the SPA or pool. Not sure why we were not permitted. 4. The dining room was closed so we had to travel to Cornerbrook for supper. 5. Normally we do fitness in the morning. We requested to use the gym prior to our 0730 departure (we were catching a ferry) only to be told that staff do not come in till 0730 so we could not get access to the fitness center. 6. Our stay included breakfast but since staff would not be in till 0730 we were told breakfast would not be available. 7. The air conditioner in the room did not work properly Lorraine.dougan63@gmail.

Beautiful surroundings. Accommodations are dated and could use an upgrading. Very limited breakfast options. Water was brown and not drinkable but yet no alternative water source was provided.

Thank you very much William for you review. The yellow color to the water is the tannins from all the clay in Steady Brook. The water is drinkable but most people prefer to buy bottled water. The rooms were ok. The property was not maintained well. The pool area was dirty and was in need of maintenance. They wanted to charge an extra $20 to use the hot tub and you had to schedule a swim time. It seemed like they were trying to discourage you from using the pool area. There was nobody at the front desk in the morning and when you called the number they provided it went directly to voicemail. It was generally a disappointment.

Hello George. We encourage guests to book a swim time to make sure every guest gets at least one swim time a day in our busy season, which many guests seem to enjoy. Our pool and dry sauna are free of charge, the extra fee is for additional services. Our front desk hours are 7:30am which could be the reason why the phone went straight to voice mall - as after7:30 in the morning we have 2 lines where we can communicate with guests. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us grow and improve.

Very nice hotel but I wouldnt go as far to say it is a resort. When i booked online it gave me 2 options. I could either get 2 twin beds or 1 king bed. I selected king bed and that showed on my receipt. When i arrived they told me i had 2 twin beds, which was not what i requested. The man at reception went to check and came back and said the issue was resolved. When we got to our room it was 2 twin beds pushed together. The beds were SUPER comfy but it was not an error on my part....they shouldnt give options if they are not going to follow thru. For a resort i expected much better views than what we had. Too much brush and trees blocking views to mountain and out our window all we could see was a car shelter tent and nothing else. We also could hear water running upstairs somewhere all night. I had a great nights sleep but for the price it is not worth it.

Water issue
Water condition is terrible. We couldn't take a shower because color of water. Couldn't use tap water cause the water color is brown... They must explain this to customers or refund for discomfort of not being use water.

Dear Guest, the water here appears yellow in color because of minerals we have in this particular area. The water is otherwise safe to consume and use.

This property was absolutely beautiful. It was a walking distance to Marble Mountain ski resort. The hotel itself was clean, quiet, and the staff were helpful and friendly. There was also a pool with a thermal spa. I would definitely recommend booking an evening in the thermal spa. The pool is refreshing, the Labradorite mineral bath is so relaxing, and the saunas were absolutely perfect after a cold day of skiing. If you're looking for somewhere to stay that's close to Marble Mountain, and the Humber River, I would definitely recommend this place.

Was a grrat place to lay our heads but unsatisfied with having to go to the front desk continually to ask for the extra items we needed as I clearly stated there were 2 adults & 1 child, we were supplied enough bedding, towels, toiletries for even 1 person We had just travelled from a resort that had cleaning staff daily who happily replenished our items needed

Wonderful place to base our family for a week in western Newfoundland. The 10-year old condos look as though they were built yesterday. The restaurant is top quality. The manager/owner was always around and gave us lots of tips. Kayaking and swimming in the River was great, as was relaxing in the sauna and indoor salt pool. We enjoyed the nearby ziplining and mountain hikes. We twice went Northeast to Gros Morne National Park for superb hiking, and we also went west to Blow Me Down Provincial Park and Bottle Cove (the latter a hidden gem). Basing ourselves just east of Corner Brook was a great decision as it allowed so many options that were not too far from the ferry to/from Nova Scotia.

Our stay was great. I only have 2 small complaints. The pull out couch bed was very uncomfortable, and the toilet paper was single ply. It maybe more eco friendly or easier on the sewer, however it is way to flimsy and you end up using twice as much. Everything else was great!

There were a lot of amenities there but we couldn’t use any except a pool that wasn’t even filled. The towels in the room weren’t enough of all of us and they were like sand paper they were so rough

The river lookout was fabulous. Loved watching the people floating down the river. Loved the deck on the room. The restaurant food was excellent. The two bedroom condo was very nice, bathrooms were updated and well appointed. It was a great experience.

Nice but disappointing
Although beautiful and well-maintained, we had a few concerns. Knowing we had booked for 3 people (2 adults and 1 child) in a suite with a bed and a pull-out couch, I never would have guessed that we would be expected to make the pull-out bed ourselves. We also had to ask for another bath towel since only 2 were left in our room. Again, we booked 3 people... With the A/C in the bedroom and the door closed while sleeping, the outer area with the couch was stifling for my son. Opening the window was not an option with the highway noise. When we went for dinner, we were asked if we had a reservation. (When we registered, the girl at the desk merely told us when the restaurant opened.) After responding that we did not, the server/hostess said it would have been a good idea. We were in no position to drive as we had had a few drinks in our room. I believe that is the only reason she said she would find us something. On the way to our table, she told another employee not to accept anymore "walk-ins", like we were the plague. The restaurant was pretty empty at that point. The server/hostess never returned to ask about our meals, but she did for others. When finished, I had to go look for her for our bill because she never came back to our table. When we left, the restaurant was not even half full (reservation needed?). When we returned to our room, my husband made himself a pb&j sandwich because, " I have never left a restaurant hungry". Tiny portions, big prices and poor service.
