I’d love to gatekeep these Star Tannery cabins so they’re available for me, but they deserve a great rating. The whole family loves coming out and walking the trail together, sitting on the porch together…just being secluded together. Gold.

The property is very nice and secluded in a beautiful tree-lined setting with surrounding farms. There is tons of space in the house, including a fully finished basement with a game room. It was beautiful sitting on the covered back porch. The kitchen was nicely equipped. I was celebrating my birthday and the host surprised me with a full pan of homemade cinnamon rolls, which were delicious. Our pup enjoyed this dog-friendly property as well. One word of caution is to ensure you do not arrive in a sports car or vehicle with a low ground clearance, as the road leading to the property is gravel and is uneven in places. We had no difficulty in our truck. We highly recommend this property and will stay here again if our travels bring us to the area.

Very nice and peaceful location and the cabin is nicely decorated. Hostess left loads of spices, etc. for adding to cooking meals. The cabin was very clean ( something we always look for). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!

Peace & Quiet

Lovely property off the beaten path! Great place to just unwind and enjoy the quiet. Trails to walk and pretty stream to fish or cool off in. Definitely need bug spray in the summer but watching the fireflies at night was a treat!

The cabin is an absolute gem, located in the mountains but within easy reach of groceries, restaurants, hiking, fishing, etc. The stay was spacious, clean, tidy, had plenty of entertainment options, and communication was timely. Would not hesitate to book again.

Simply put, we loved it! My wife and I travel the country, living in vacation rentals. This property was the best we have experienced. From the unbelievably stocked kitchen, to the air hockey table in the basement, to the electric fireplace, to the rustic surroundings, this place was "the bomb."While there were two bedrooms, a living area and a full bathroom downstairs, we didn't use them because there was so much room in the upstairs. The bed was terrific, the very large TV worked like a charm, and the internet speed was good.There simply isn't anything negative I can say about our experience. It is the one property we've stayed where we might visit once again.

Great place, very peaceful, highly recommended

Property was great, very remote and therefore very peaceful. If you are looking for a place to get away, this is a great choice. My kids had fun walking the trails and exploring and the dogs had plenty of safe room to run. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, silverware, cookware, etc. There were also plenty of spices for cooking. The beds were comfortable and the WiFi worked well. Will definitely stay again if we find ourselves back in the area.

Glorious!

We had such a wonderful time in this all accommodating, cozy, beautiful cabin! We caught trout in Paddy Creek that we brought back to the cabin and cooked for dinner. We hiked the trail behind the cabin through the national park. We relaxed!! A much needed getaway from the hustle and bustle!

Details should be clearer in property description

The cabin was well stocked, kitchen needs and with blankets. It was a roomy, pleasant atmosphere, internet was in and out. The road into the cabin was dirt/gravel until the last 300 ft or so which was a very rutted uneven lane with brush growing up on the side and needs to be trimmed out. The house is two story and one bedroom and bath are in the basement, very cold and damp. The heat could have been turned up prior to arrival, maybe on the day of, it never really got comfortable in the basement. We were given one towel, one washcloth for a 3 night stay. There was one dish towel and one dishcloth, no laundry on this site. It's okay not to have a laundry, but maybe say that you will be given one towel etc. in the description. I have not been to a VRBO yet that did not have a closet full of towels etc. for use. A map of the area might have been nice so the walking trails were visible. The trail has an arrow off the property, but beyond? The trash had to be removed from the site upon exiting. The transfer station is 8 miles away on a very winding road. I expect to remove trash, but not have to take it with me, usually it is deposited outside in a receptacle. The plus was a well stocked kitchen with most any pan/utensil/small appliance you might need, although there was no dish soap and no dish drainer. Definitely carry in drinking water and paper products. Overall an okay stay.

Exactly what we wanted

The location was exactly what we needed and wanted. If you want to totally relax, get semi off the grid, this is your place. Take a hike and take it all in. Thank you to our hosts for making such a great property available.

Lovely cabin with everything for a getaway

A friend and I got away with my dogs for the weekend. It turned out to be in the middle of a huge snow event but we still managed to make it to the property using AWD and stayed for the weekend. The cabin is well-equipped and we brought groceries. The fireplace is wonderful. The cabin had trails right behind the property. There were movies to just pop in, and plenty of places inside to just read and relax. Just wonderful.

Peace and Quiet

I don't even know where to begin. This was exactly the reset my husband and I needed. From the moment we drove up to the cabin and walked inside, we felt so relaxed. We love the outdoors and for a weekend in December, it was quite warm. The breaks in the rain allowed us to walk the trail with our dogs. When the weather was not cooperative, it gave us the chance to curl up inside and watch a movie or play a game. It almost seemed as if the decor was meant for us. Our favorite color is green, we were married by Elvis in Vegas, we have a black lab, and Im a bird enthusiast. (I found and ordered that picture in the upstairs bathroom .) We look forward to booking another stay in the spring with our family. It had everything you could possibly need, and more.I wish I could leave pictures in my review. Our dogs loved this place as much as we did. They've been sleeping since we returned home 2 days ago. If you are thinking about this place, think no longer. Just do it! You won’t regret it! relaxed.

Christmas in the forest

A beautiful, quiet and peaceful retreat. The cabin was clean, cozy yet spacious. Well stocked and the host was very responsive. This time of year the stars are so clear and with no light pollution you can watch the Milky Way from the comfort of the front porch swing bundled up in warm fluffy blankets sipping on hot cocoa... It was divine! Not to mention the drive out there was merry and bright as everyone in the area decorates their homes and farms for Christmas.

Little piece of heave

This is our second stay at Carla’s beautiful cabin. I think my 9 year old daughter summarized it best when she told us “this is such a special place”We made many happy family memories here and my kids absolutely love it (my husband and I do too!!)We will be back!
