We recently had a really enjoyable family Thanksgiving at this home and stayed here for a few days. It was just the getaway we needed and was a very peaceful visit. It was very comfortable inside with a ton of character, and a nice “grandparents cabin” feel to it, but with some modern upgrades. The property was great for our son and dog to freely run around in, and we took a nice walk along the nearby wooded trail that follows a nearby creek that can take you right into the national forest.My son played pool and ping pong non-stop so that was a big hit for him. The cable TV worked great and we had no issues with the WiFi. Two small things to be mindful of: 1) I did not have cellphone service with AT&T when I got about 5 miles from the house (which I welcomed) and 2) when it’s windy the tin roof can make it sound like there is a storm occurring in the distance outside (but we had no problem sleeping through it as we slept very well).Thanks again for having us. We are very happy with our visit!

This place is magical, and just what the doctor ordered. Don’t hesitate if you are deciding on coming here, I can’t recommend it enough. It has everything you need, including plenty of space to spread out, both inside and out. And also a great place to take dogs - ours loved it! It’s definitely one of the top places I’ve booked. Can’t wait to come back again. Thanks for everything!

The house was cute and quiet. We enjoyed hanging out on the porch to see the beautiful fall view and it was a great base from which we went to see the Skyline and Luray Caverns. The pool table was a fun bonus! There is a bedroom with a queen bed on the top level and a “bunkroom” on the lower level with: a queen bed attached to a bunk bed containing three twin beds, and two big sofas (one of which is a pullout queen bed). We loved being able to gather as a family and the hosts were very accommodating.

We're already thinking about our next return! If you're looking for seclusion and direct hiking access, this is it.Pros:- ample throw blankets made the space super cozy- plentiful comfortable seating - lots of cookware, but be prepared to bring your own sharp knives - on-site entertainment w/ ping pong, billiards, frisbee golf- mostly freshly mowed, open yard space - perfect place to bring your pup (bowls and stand included, gate on deck)Cons:- ping pong balls were unusable, so we had to buy our own - some of the puzzles were very old and missing pieces- bunk beds were more comfortable than the actual bed- streaming services unavailable on older TVs Things to note:- 1br and an open sleeping space in the basement, not 2 br - I wouldn't count on fishing 100% of the year, as the water levels were much too low - Prepare to be unplugged, as there was little to no cell service and wifi was on the slower end - Would be nice to have a porch/entryway light

This was our second stay at this property. It was very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Our children and dogs love exploring the fields, trails and fishing. Even though it rained half of our trip we still had plenty to do. Between playing pool, sitting on the covered porch or just curling up watching a good movie, it was great!!! Hope to return again!

Overall we enjoyed our stay. A lot of bugs inside the property though so that made us a bit uncomfortable. Some are to be expected but for us it was a bit much. Would have appreciated extra paper towels, trash bags and toilet paper available in the house. There was 1 additional role in the house and no additional trash bags. I knew we had to remove our trash from the property but wasn’t aware we also needed to bring trash bags. Thankfully we had a few grocery bags with us from when we arrived. Just minor inconveniences.

My husband and I rented this gem for 3 nights to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were thrilled with the remote location! It was exactly what we were looking for. Our 4 legged pooch enjoyed his stay as well. The owner even had a neighbor deliver some goodies from a local bakery to celebrate our special anniversary. We will definitely be back!

Very cute and quaint

Lovely cabin indeed. VERY remote! Quiet and screne. Listed as a 2 bedroom but there's not really a 2nd bedroom. The basement has beds in it but not private. They're tucked in like a little alcove but still a cute cabin! The pool table was definitely a plus!

Birder's paradise! My Merlin app identified 51 unique birds. We come back to the cabin again and again. It is a great place to unwind and escape from a busy life.Carla is a wonderful and responsive host. We will be back!!
