Log Cabin on the River

  • Thank you for your interest in staying here. We are taking every precaution possible to ensure the safety of our staff and guests by using CDC approved sanitizers exclusively and we are disinfecting all door handles, switches, remotes, cabinets, appliances etc. Your cabin is self check-in with private (key code) entrance, full kitchen and full bathroom.

    All amenities are open and operational at this time.

    We recommend you take the time to explore some of our many local attractions like Skyline Drive, check website hikingupward for hiking suggestions, Luray caverns,`Noon Whistle Pottery`, `Fabio`s Italian eatery`, Mission Home Bake Shop` & numerous antique galleries in Ruckersville, just to name a few. Close proximity to 30 vineyards along the Monticello Wine Trail. 6 President homes including Monticello, Montpelier & Ashlawn.     We recommend arriving here in a car as there is no convenient public transit/transportation to get to nearby attractions or to airports, train stations & bus stations.

    Kindly note there is no good cell reception here and we recommend that you read up on all directions, check in information before arrival or print if necessary. You may not be able to access information on your cell phone on the grounds/parking on arrival.
    If you want to bring kids, please realize there is only 1 kingsize bed.

Tranquility

Our stay was peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. Great to have access to go to skyline drive or head into town for a little antique shopping and a bite to eat.

Had a wonderful stay and the property was so great we barely left it! Beautiful views from the deck of the river and the bedroom was a comfy loft! The hosts were very responsive and the house was clean. Would definitely stay again!

Enjoyed the secluded location and the sound of the stream next to the cabin. The cabin was very accommodating and clean. The host was very responsive to all our questions.

Despite rain all week long, I had a lovely relaxing visit to this cabin on the river. There is a covered porch with a table and seating so I could still enjoy the outdoors despite inclement weather. The second level, the bedroom, is comfortable and well-lit. I spent most of my indoor time there, as well as in the kitchen. The jacuzzi tub was a pleasant surprise as well. Only a short trip to Skyline drive’s beautiful views. I hope to return before too long

Pleasant stay

Really liked the location and the setting was nice. A bit too cool for me to sit outside long but the sound of the river was great. Nice place.

Swift Run Log Cabin

Really enjoyed the remoteness, while still being fairly close to stores and restaurants. Gave us a chance to visit some VA sites we had never been to.

Beautiful cabin , you feel like you are very secluded , but can easily get to restaurants and entertainment. Will definitely be back .

Cozing log cabin on the river.

Log cabin on the river is the place for you if you want to get away from the city. Easy check- in, close to Shenandoah National Park and easy access to the cabin. The cabin its self is right on a small stream with amazing views. Would highly recommend to friends and family..

Comfortable bed, beautiful location, great tub, great view from every window. Near the park, near some great hikes, great location close to everything. Couldnt ask for anything more.

Beautiful Peacefulness

We stayed here a couple of years ago and were grateful to return again. Being right next to the stream and hearing it throughout the day and night was amazing. The kitchen was great to cook in and the bedroom with the view of the woods, and special reading nook, was comfortable and relaxing. What an amazing place to spend our 33rd anniversary.

Great Cabin

My wife and I stayed a couple of nights at the Log Cabin at the River and it was magical.The location is very private and Serene. We spent most of our time out on the covered porch. It rained one evening and it was very relaxing listening and watching the rain. Really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cabin

Very nice place. Rustic, but with a nice kitchen and bathroom. Had a great time by the fire outside and also using the wood stove inaide. Stream nearby is beautiful

Serenity

We stopped here as a halfway point after dropping daughter off at college. The cabin and location are perfect for resting and enjoying nature. Only regret was the shortness of our stay. Beautiful cabin and wonderful surroundings.
