EVERYTHING was phenomenal! Barb is an amazing host who makes sure the littlest detail is attended to. For example, before our arrival she made sure to point out that Apple maps is better for exact directions to the apartment and she suggested car rental agencies. When we walked in, we were greeted by a real pine Xmas tree with seashell ornaments!! There were various games (jenga, checkers, chess, cards) and books a plenty! Everything you need for a day at the beach was readily available (towels, snorkeling gear, sunscreen, aloe gel), and there was even flour in the frig if you felt so inclined to bake during your stay. The bathroom was fully stocked with towels, shampoo, soap, even a back scratcher! There were charging cords if you forgot yours and the kitchen had all your everyday items and then some. There were even things available in case of island emergencies - drinking water and lanterns. It felt like we were home! The home is tastefully decorated and Barb provides a binder full of detailed directions for nearby shopping, restaurants and activities. She's also extremely quick to respond to any text you send her. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to St. Thomas!

Barb's place is amazing and I will definitely come back in the future. Very spacious with everything you need and more (she even had extra little supplies and water which came in handy as we arrived later in the day after a rainstorm). Barb has definitely thought of everything to make you feel at home - she even had a REAL Christmas tree all lit up in the house while we were there! House is very comfortable, quiet and clean. View is spectacular so my only regret is we were so busy we weren't at the house much during the daylight hours. Barb left us great directions to the house which boosted our confidence in google maps but if you just find "clifftop villa" on your map the directions were spot on. Roads are no joke as you have to go up pretty steep roads to get the great view so I would definitely rent a jeep or 4x4 with good clearance. After a few trips up we got used to it and it wasn't very hard.

A Long and Winding Road to a Hilltop Oasis

Our stay at Barb’s place was wonderful. After making our way up the long and winding road to the steep final driveway, we arrived at a charming mint green cottage tucked into the mountains—a true oasis in St. Thomas.The home is well-equipped and comfortable. Each of the three bedrooms has air conditioning, ceiling fans, and cozy queen-sized beds. Nearly every amenity you might need is provided—from beach gear and sunscreen to condiments and coffee in the fridge. My personal favorite touch? A straw beach tote, perfect for our island adventures.I hadn’t realized just how high up we’d be, but the views were absolutely breathtaking. We did have to get used to taking quick island-style showers with lower water pressure, but it was a small adjustment.Barb was a responsive and gracious host, and overall, I highly recommend this peaceful, scenic retreat.

Truth about staying on Clifftop

Stayed 9nights.Positive:spectacular views. Host not HONEST on several things.Buy trip insurance, she will put a claim in. Be aware,ride up & down the mountain is poorly kept "island roads." Not lit, very narrow & steep, w/ potholes, feel like you’re falling off a cliff. Not uncommon to lose side mirror,get car protection. VERY difficult to find &host directions are not clear. Listing says 5-min to 3 beaches,takes 20-min to get down the mountain. Master bathroom ceiling leaked. Listing states to leave snorkel gear & sunblock home as they provided “dive-quality snorkel gear, reef-safe sunblock, lotions.” Snorkel gear was old had mold(photos)& leaked so I purchased new set. (she put claim on I mask never used) Sunblock was dried out and unusable. Beach toy rotted, fell apart in our hand (yep,put a claim on too) Stated “fully stocked kitchen (condiments)”…coffee, olive oil, and condiments were expired.(photos) Put a claim on knife we found already broken along with “missing knife”, I suppose she thinks we flew it back with us? Put claim on pillowcase, said threads were separating along w/2 broken glasses? There were only hard plastic to use? Host stayed in rented space below, approaching me every time I pulled in. Accused me of having dog, she shld know I did NOT as she went inside when I was NOT there. Took down picture also noticing closet door opened. Folded our clothes from dryer which is weird. VRBOallows quiet guest which we had & cooked for,she did not like.

Mountain Top Retreat

Absolutely spectacular home with a scenic view. The house is well-stocked, and has extremely comfortable bedding and furniture. The Christmas decor was incredible, and made the rental house a home. Barb is very responsive and focused on the details (from instructions on arrival to home accessories). Be sure to rent a car with four-wheel drive to access this home. We look forward to staying at this home again.

Truly amazing

The only downside was the drive up the mountain to the location other than that it was absolutely perfect. The owner was more than accommodating and an absolute pleasure to work with. The pictures do not do this place justice at all.

Beautiful view and conveniently located

Great place to stay, very comfortable and host Barb provides all the small touch conveniences. It had everything we needed including all the beach gear and kitchen essentials. The house has a wall of windows that provide an amazing view of the water! It is also conveniently located to both Charlotte Amelie and Red Hook. Would highly recommend!

WHAT A VIEW!!!

This is an absolute gem! It's beautifully decorated, the amenities are great, attention to detail made the whole stay much easier. For example, the split unit A/C in some places can be daunting with all the buttons. The host literally has arrows pointing to the button on the remote you need to push to maximize cooling. Awesome. A well-stocked kitchen with cookware, knives, and utensils needed to cook at the property. The beds and pillows where great for all of us. Me wife and 2 daughters so thumbs up on that. Last but not least, the view... oh man, i could stay in the house all day reading a book and occasionally looking up at the stunning views. Highly recommend staying here. In fact, if the owner wants to sell it to me, please reach out. Now what others may mention but wasn't a big deal to me as we've been driving on virgin island roads for years, I will go ahead and say, getting here the first time is a bit of a task. Best the host sends you a pin for "maps" as the location doesn't exactly match up unless she does. The parking space is narrow, but it has to be, you're on the side of a mountain. Just take your time parking and doing a 3 point turn to go back down the mountain.

Beautiful View

Our family stayed 3 days at the property and everyone was pleased. We had no trouble finding it as the directions were clear. The driveway is a little steep but so is most of the island. It was quite hot during our time there but the air conditioning units is every room worked well and kept us cool. Great experience.

Cliff top villa

The place is great, the only downside is the drive up to it and then getting back down the mountain. It is not for the faint of heart, though by the end of the week, it was much more doable. However, due to lack of street lamps etc. going up and down at night was not something I was willing to try. The views though - spectacular. Plenty of space, had pretty much everything we needed. Great property mgr as well.

Nice property

The property was nice and the pictures were very accurate. There were no issues with the water pressure or heat and it was 6 of us. The only issue is what we were warned about ahead of time which was getting to the property. The drive is not for the weak and the steep cliffs and turns require an all wheel drive vehicle. Overall the place was nice and comfortable for our group.

What A Beauty

Clifftop was amazing! Our stay there was comfortable and relaxing. The view and sunrise from the balcony was breathtaking. Barb was friendly, patient and very helpful during our stay. We would definitely book this vacation rental again.

Great Christmas Getaway

We all (5 adults) had a very relaxing stay. The house was decorated very tastefully for Christmas and was enjoyed by all. All the amenities were there, plenty of paper products, comfortable beds. We cooked a couple of meals there but mostly went out for meals. The view was spectacular. Thank you Barb for a great vacation!

Beautiful Place

We enjoyed our stay at Cliff top Villa. Like others have said, the drive there is not for the faint of heart. The view is beautiful though! Barb was very helpful when we called her because we had a little trouble finding it. The house was very clean and many essentials were already there which was nice. We had a terrific stay and can’t wait to visit again!

Wonderful calm place with gorgeous views

Incredible views. Very comfortable house and all necessary amenities. Babe was great at communicating. As others said, getting to the house takes some getting used to, with good driving skills as roads are narrow, with potholes and steep. If we go back to STT again, we’ll be staying at the villa.

Amazing views and outstanding host.

The villa commands amazing views of Frenchman's Bay and met all of our needs. Always important to us, the beds were very comfortable and the the property is well appointed. The host was very accessible for us from check in and throughout our week long stay. We communicated through text and she sent all the instructions for finding the villa and how to check-in and out without us even asking first. She was on top of our arrival and departure dates and times which was great for us. The property is high on Hawk Hill and rewards you with an outstanding view. There is a comfortable porch and furniture to enjoy the breezes. The road leading to the property is typical USVI roads but can be steep in a couple of places. We had a Ford Explorer and it had no issues and the driveway allowed us to make a 180 to always leave the property going forward and not back out. Keep left. :) Like most of the USVI the house is on a Cistern system that worked for showers and dishwashing etc. We did get bottled water for drinking and cooking throughout our stay. Potable packaged water is readily available across the island. We love the location as it sits between Redhook and main St Thomas where we spent equal time. Thanks for a great stay.

Family vacation

Thanks to Barb for her attention to detail, when we had questions you had answers. The view from the top of the cliff were amazing, the villa was so well stocked with hygiene supplies, a full draw of spices, emergency water, an assortment of books and games, beach supplies such as snorkling gear. Also, appreciated that I was able to wash clothes/towels while there. Thanks so much for making this vacation so memorable for our family.
