We rent vacation houses twice a year for the past 27 years and this house was by far the best equipped house we have ever stayed at. It had everything from extra toiletries to blenders, to beach equipment to super plush outdoor cushions etc. There was nothing we needed. The house is also walkable to town for bars and restaurants. It’s amazing! We had a blast.

All-time best St. Simons beach house
We’ve rented at least 7 different beach houses in St. Simons over the years, and this one is hands-down our favorite. Newly renovated, gorgeously decorated, equipped with everything you could want, and perfect location on the water with views of Jekyll and a short walk from the pier village. The pool is so close to the ocean that you feel like you’re sitting on the beach. The kitchen is ideal for those who like to cook, with brand new, high-end appliances. It’s a dream beach house for any size group!

Absolutely stunning! The house, view and location makes this one of the best stays on SSI. So much to do, we couldn’t decide what to do. I am especially missing my early mornings spent sitting up on the cozy top balcony listening to the changing tides and watching the huge ships roll by…suddenly appearing out of nowhere. What a thrill! We enjoyed fishing and walking the expansive beach at low tide. Lots of sitting out and swimming by water’s edge. Perfect location to watch fireworks. Owners were very accommodating and thought of everything. We hope to be back soon!!!

Our favorite house on St. Simon’s is now our favorite anywhere!
Our family has been vacationing on St. Simon’s Island for 25 years. We’ve stayed in upscale hotels, condos, and East Beach houses, but this property is by far our multi-generational favorite! This Memorial Day was our 5th stay and our 1st visit since the masterful, whole-home renovation. What an elevated experience! I cannot overstate the attention to detail that went into the renovation, expansion, and interior design. The new bunk room is perfect for our growing family, and the pool is a game changer! The bathrooms are luxurious, the beds are super comfy, and the kitchen is a chef’s dream. The outside composite decking that goes from the pool to the kitchen - brilliant! All appliances, linens, fixtures, furniture, etc. are premium quality. The kitchen is FULLY stocked with pots, pans, supplies, and utensils, plus enough plates, bowls, glasses, and silverware for 14 guests x 3 meals! We made huge breakfasts every morning and even used the air fryer for cinnamon rolls.The location can’t be beat. We love exploring the natural beach for ocean wildlife during low tide and get a thrill out of watching cargo ships and dolphins traverse the channel throughout the day. The pier, Neptune park, mini golf, lighthouse, and great shops and restaurants are just a 2-block walk away! Our whole family agrees - this property has gone from our favorite place to stay on St. Simon’s Island to our favorite place anywhere!

The perfect location!

Gorgeous, well thought out and maintained location
My sisters and I really enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid House with its gorgeous 3-stories with a balcony on each floor overlooking the view of the sound where we saw sailboats and dolphins as well as the Jekyll Island Coast and the beautiful Sydney Lanier Bridge in the distance
. We enjoyed the fact that it is within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and the lighthouse museum.
The owners thought of everything in the home. It is well maintained and has so many amenities throughout that we felt right at home!

Wonderful.
Perfect house for us over the holiday. Spacious rooms with balcony. Very true to description. Has thought of everything you need. Nicely decorated, elevator we didn’t use , quick couple blocks to stores, restaurants, park and beach you can walk at any time. Comfortable beds.During low tide you can walk the beach in front of house but views were so great we didn’t miss at high tide and again, just a few blocks away can walk low or high tide. Nice surprise to have small tree decorated for the holiday. Quiet street.

Great family spot on St. Simons
We loved this property. Wonderful views from all three floors, very nicely decorated, huge garage with bikes, beach toys, etc. Kitchen was well stocked and the Green Egg grill was a huge plus! Bring an Amazon Firestick or other tv device as tvs are a bit dated. We will be back at this amazing home.

Fiends Reunion
Three couples enjoyed a long weekend at the Mermaid House. Large, roomy home with great kitchen and plentiful bedrooms, baths and outdoor spaces. Beach access is very limited, but we just drove down the beach to other access points so no real hassle for our group. Elevator is a plus for getting our stuff in and out of our cars. Two refrigerators were helpful too.

The perfect getaway.
This is our second time stating at Laura’s beautiful home and it is just as lovely as ever. The theme of the house is “mermaid” so there are lots of sweet pieces of art throughout this three story home equipped with an elevator for ease of moving groceries and luggage to the upper floor. The garage is full of beach toys and bikes. Everything is perfectly clean and the outdoor swing on the second level is the perfect spot for reading and listening to the waves. Spectacular.

Mermaid Heaven
The Mermaid house is the best place we have EVER stayed! Family of all ages plan a once a year trip usually in SC or Georgia area. Beautiful home, magnificent ocean views, excellent communication and “quick help” when we got locked out. So relaxing and peaceful, I almost don’t want to say too much so it doesn’t become too popular lol. If your considering, BOOK IT!
Loved EVERYTHING about this house. Only glitch is please allow space if possible for the “trash” pick up to maneuver cans around your cars. Seriously, nothing bad at all to say about this quaint, beautiful clean, comfortable charming,peaceful home. Our family will probably look no further than this home when booking our next vacation. Walking distance to restaurants, pool area, shops ice cream candy parks etc.,We will be back! Amazing!

Very nice house!
Everything was clean inside and out. Plenty of cooking utensils and many things you wouldn’t expect to be supplied. Our family really enjoyed the accommodations of this large house, even the large two car garage! Also the elevator was a great help for my wife whose had complications from hip surgery and for getting luggage to the fourth floor.

Memorable Spring Break
The Mermaid House is absolutely stunning. Clearly exceeding our expectations. House super clean. Contact host Anne is the best. She was super nice. Location of the house being on the water and minutes from downtown St. Simons. People were super friendly everywhere we went to. Ross at Electric Coast was super nice and accommodating where we rented E-bikes. St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island (dolphin tour) and Sea Island (rode bikes here). The restaurants were outstanding: Halyards, Coastal Kitchen, Fiddlers for dinner and Palm Coast, Iguanas, Half Shell great for breakfast and lunch. Everything was fabulous. Can’t wait to return to St. Simons. Thanks!
